Is Tropic skincare any good for rosacea?

Hi, just looking for any personal experiences of people who’ve used this skincare brand please? It was particularly recommended for helping with rosacea. I just don’t want to shell out on something yet again to find that it doesn’t do anything to calm down the redness!

Has anything else particularly helped rosacea sufferers- medication or diet-wise? Willing to try just about anything at this point!!

Have you tried azelaic acid? I've had good results with the Dermatica 20% cream

A Dermatica subscription and MooGoo face wash and moisturiser helped my acne rosacea when it was really bad. I just kept things very, very simple. I have extremely sensitive skin anyway - I have the colouring of a redhead, very pale pale with freckles.

MooGoo doesn't break the bank either - you can get it from Holland & Barrett.

Personally, i would be wary of Tropic - it's basically an MLM and a very expensive one at that.

Have you read about demodex infestation? And tried Soolantra?

Yep- but only 10%, maybe I need to try a higher concentration?

Thank you- I haven’t heard of either of those! I’ll look them up x

Yes to both. Soolantra didn’t do anything for me unfortunately but thanks for the suggestion. Did it work for you?

I suffered badly in my twenties and was recommended a product called Purple Emu redness and blemish control, which completely cleared up my rosacea, after GP prescriptions and other creams had failed. Looking at their ingredients list, it does contain azaleic acid, which a previous poster mentions as an effective treatment.

I know how disheartening it is to spend money on a wonder cream that doesn't work, but this was startlingly effective on a pretty severe case. There was a week of skin purging, which was slightly gruesome, and then just clear skin. I still can't believe it many years later. It looks like they still make it, but only ships from the US.

You will need to send photographs of your face to Dermatica and answer some questions - they will then formulate a prescription for you. It's a monthly subscription but you can pause or stop it at any time. My skin has been clear for months but I've had a little flare on the side of my nose in the last week (no idea what's triggered it) in exactly the same place as the first time, so I've restarted my subscription again. Had to do new photographs and received it within two days.

Acne rosacea presents differently but it's exactly like it sounds - it looks like acne. The first time it happened, I'd had a sore nose for a few days but just thought it was a spot, went to bed one night, woke up in the morning and all across my cheeks and nose was covered in what looked like a big acne breakout. Beauty Pie's Plantastic range was the culprit.

Ah thank you- that sounds great.

my rosacea doesn’t look like acne to be honest (although it was misdiagnosed as that to start with).

No pustules or lumps/bumps, just severe flushing at just about anything, very sore and irritated and feels like it’s on fire.

It didn’t help me much. I used the Green People and cut out dairy and my rosacea pretty much cleared up overnight.

OP, has your GP referred you to a Dermatologist at your nearest hospital?

Might be worth trying . I went straight to 20% and I would say within 6 weeks spots disappeared and redness on cheeks reduced .i bought the dermatica 20% and got it on Amazon . Also, it's a cream and doesn't dry your skin

LittleGungHo · Today 12:51

I liked it. They have a discovery kit hydrate so you can give it a go. They also now have specific product that I have not tried but I would.

exhaustedandoverit · Today 12:55

I find niacinamide to really make me flare up so if your current skin care contains it then drop it for a while to see if it helps. I used a new serum with it in last week by mistake and it’s really made my cheeks become very bumpy and red.

Dollysfriend · Today 12:59

Kanzen skincare.

Boots, QVC US, Sephora etc

In answer to your question, I suffer from Rosacea and it has massively improved using Tropic. I think it’s quite individual, though so no guarantee a product will work for you just because it does someone else.

I use their hydrating cleanser, rainforest dew serum and the skin re-leaf moisturiser. The moisturiser is what made all the difference to me. In the winter I get dry skin so add their green oil (can’t remember what it’s called) and it’s perfect for calming my skin. They also do a correcting cream that’s brilliant for neutralising red skin before you put makeup on. It’s the best I’ve tried and I’ve tried plenty and a little goes a long way.

Yes, I was shocked! Ten days use and it disappeared after 10 years of embarrassment, upset, antibiotics and all sorts of topical creams and gels. So I always mention it if I see or hear people ask about solutions or helpful products.

CherryBlossom321 · Today 14:33

I would add that I’ve found tropic to be very kind to my skin both before and after it cleared up.

Rubydobydo · Today 14:38

Game changer for me - after 40 years of suffering- has been Aveeno gentle oat face cleanser.
Mine hasn’t entirely gone away for years, just remains controlled. My love for spice doesn’t help!
