Scan date 30/07/26. I called today for an update and they said a decision was made today. Called back as I can’t wait and was told my DC has been awarded MRC

Congratulations

No nothing yet! I think it will be another couple of weeks judging by the times other people seem to be experiencing. Is yours a new claim too? I did call last week and the person I spoke to said everything looked good with the claim and they didn't need anything more from me so fingers crossed! x

3muskats · 10/10/2026 17:50

Yes new claim here too, and I'm completely clueless to everything so Im hoping Ive done everything right!! My scan date is 24/8 and have had a text and a letter but heard nothing else! So im sitting and waiting but found this thread so im watching things here! Xxx

I’ve convinced myself we’re going to be a decline. I’d say we’re going to be early this week (sd 31/7) if I had to pick a day. Tried to ring Friday but after 50 mins on hold, I’d had enough (and it went past 5pm!). Won’t be able to ring till Wednesday this week as got little legs home with me - not even able go and finish getting my daughters birthday stuff as the terms of an exclusion are that he isn’t to be seen in public during school hours so Amazon prime to the rescue!

You are allowed to take them out shopping. I think they mean to a park, soft play etc
When you have a child with additional needs they can't be in all day! Makes night times even harder. Xx

I’m scan date 28/7. Last I heard it was with the decision maker on Friday so I’m hoping by mid week I’ll have a decision as long as don’t need more evidence. I’ve sent loads though so don’t know who they could possibly need to speak too now.

that’s crazy, I guess it’s to stop him going out and playing on bikes etc but surely you’d think they’d allow him out with his mum when you’ve got things to do. Don’t know how old your little one is but smyths has been really quick delivery recently , I ordered on Thursday and was here the next day. Xx

I would have thought by the end of the week maybe. But who knows. It seems quite a few decisions have been made around the 10 week mark.

It’s terms of a “temporary exclusion” from school that the child shouldn’t be seen in a public place during the time they would usually be expected to be at school. It’s a blessing really, it gives me an excuse NOT to go into town!

Rachael93 · 11/10/2026 10:42

MR date 27/7 anyone close to this date with a MR? X

i went through this so many times
With my daughter has to home school her in the end. In one term she was suspended 37 days and had 2 weeks left you can only be suspended 45 days in a term and if you reach that they get expelled.
i said if she my daughter out during school hours it’s because she is violent to me like she is
in school, you can’t handle her what makes you think I can keep her in at the age of 14 when she smashes things up like in school and runs. So fuck off with it.
lol

GreyViewer · 11/10/2026 13:50

Can anyone tell me the difference between a case manager and a decsion maker? It looks like some people use the term interchangeably, but that might just be my interpretation 😂

New claim, SD 19/08 here and I'm going slightly insane waiting 🫠 I included so much evidence and was quite confident when I sent the paperwork. That confidence is dwindling the longer we wait and the more I read people's comments!!

I’m the same . I was so confident the day it was sent and even for a few weeks, now I feel it’s a decline. Even though I’ve sent so much evidence so don’t see how it can be. It really does affect you mentally! Apparently case manager inputs all the details and then makes the case ready for the decision maker to decide. I feel the same though, I spoke to someone on Thursday who told me it was with a case worker again checking it over, Friday I was told no it’s with a decision maker and hasn’t been with a case worker for a long time. Scan date 28/7 x

I hope you get a decsion soon, you're well ahead of us! I called on Thursday and they told me was that its not with a decision maker yet, but theres nothing on the system to show they need further information. No mention of a case worker yet. I thought our bundle was quite informative and I wrote a lot about the care and supervision she requires, and compared that with other children her age, and the things she was able to do independently prior to developing her condition. The letters span from September 2025 to July this year and they also detail all of her symptoms, and her deterioration. They also mention the 'long road to recovery', so I feel like I've satisfied so many areas the DM will be looking at. I'm just losing so much confidence and am already weighing up my options for MR. It's been such a stressful time for all of us!!

Fingers crossed everyone gets the results their children deserve as soon as possible xx

It’s felt a real long wait , honestly it’s been horrible lol any other information you feel may be useful whether it’s little I’ve just sent across. I’ve even done a week night time diary as well to support other evidence . So I’m hoping there’s enough. I have ASD referral, SALT report, incontinence, ENT , hearing report and paediatrician for hernias so really hoping there’s enough there but who knows. I’ve seen on Facebook people being declined with a lot of evidence and it just don’t make sense . It does seem a lot of it is who’s desk it lands on top xx

I'm scan date 03/08 and I feel like I'm going crazy lol...I've also now convinced myself of a decline ...think it's our brains way of trying to anticipate disappointment to make it not be such a blow after waiting so long. I was also confident at first ...just hope to hear back soon either way as the uncertainty is just the worst x

How long are renewals taking?

UmElise · 11/10/2026 20:54

@3amazinkidsit took 3 weeks for them to make a decision then another week for the decision letter to arrive so I waited 4 weeks in total

Thank you! Did u have much extra evidence?? I didn’t really have much extra, had a sleep diary, a hospital letter and his award notice that we won through court appeal in January saying the he’d been awarded mrc and hrm under VUW guidelines
