Check your profiles everyone - a poster has just started a thread saying the info on hers has been altered.

hereforNewKeks · 21/08/2015 17:54

I've been inclined to name change and inspired by Deborah Orr and others. I do like a play on words, although I suppose my first new name post should've been in S and B really Grin

for the avoidance of doubt this post is not intended to devalue the distress felt by other members of MN for whom I have every sympathy Flowers

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 21/08/2015 17:53

(unless she is a bitch. then welcome to the clubWink Grin )

TheTravellingLemon · 21/08/2015 17:53

Well if nothing else, I think we can all agree that we have learnt a very valuable lesson from all of this. The perfect pair of leggings does exist and the brand is hidden somewhere on a thread on mumsnet.

I think we should all take a minute to think about this.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 21/08/2015 17:52

and apologies to Ms Orr for calling her a bitch
Thanks

LimeJellyforBrains · 21/08/2015 17:52

Sorry for any confusion over the Orr article, must say I never dreamt anyone wouldn't 'get it'.

For the outrage over Ms Roberts using her own name, I personally saw David Walliams in character clutching his pearls and protesting "But she's a married laydeee!" Grin

RepeatAdNauseum · 21/08/2015 17:50

MNHQ - Just incase you are hanging around on here, there is a post in site stuff about profile information that you probably want to read.

I've reported it to you, too.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 21/08/2015 17:50

Garrick

in this case I should have been told ahead!
I'll re-read it tomorrow.
I'm very tired today, was up half the night because I can't sleep when my knees are coldSad
gimme those leggings so my sense of humour won't be impaired next time!Grin

MagpieCursedTea · 21/08/2015 17:48

Love that Guardian article! Anyone know which leggings she was on about? I could use some new ones...

00100001 · 21/08/2015 17:47

ohhh his website is down :(

00100001 · 21/08/2015 17:45

Genuine question to Tech - consdering you've known aout this phishing attempt since the middle of July, and MN has been attacked before why were things not put beefed up sooner?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 21/08/2015 17:44

So the latest information is just stuff that could be found via ten minutes on Google?

Yup. Our Jeff is obviously a l33t hax0r...

00100001 · 21/08/2015 17:42

Might go and buymyself some nice leggings :)

Devilishpyjamas · 21/08/2015 17:41

So the latest information is just stuff that could be found via ten minutes on Google?

Yeah Deborah Orr might want to warn the police she's likely to be SWATed

Simurgh · 21/08/2015 17:35

That is a horrible image Garrick. Wink

twirlypoo · 21/08/2015 17:35

Garrick Grin

BlahBlahUsername · 21/08/2015 17:35

Thanks Rebecca, but it's not posts I'm worried about, I'm concerned that a troll may have accessed my inbox and found out my address. But I guess there's not much to do except wait and see.

Garrick · 21/08/2015 17:33

Orr's article made me laugh :)

The internet has taught me many things - one of them is that I sorely underestimated the amount of people who don't get humour, particularly of the satirical/sarcastic/ironic variety.

It's OK. You just have to gently tell them before they explode with misplaced outrage and spatter everyone with fulminating body parts.

Simurgh · 21/08/2015 17:33

thw original didn't have emails* in for ordinary users

Simurgh · 21/08/2015 17:31

There's a list in the 'THE LIST' thread further down this page drummersmum. It's been stripped of IP addresses and passwords but the original didn't have those in for ordinary users. That doesn't mean someone doesn't have them but then your MN password and email passwords will be different won't they? (If not, change the email password directly along with any other accounts which are the same.)

My email address is over half of the UK. It doesn't give me sleepless nights.

MrsCampbellBlack · 21/08/2015 17:28

Fairly easy to find info about Justine though as she is out there in the public domain.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 21/08/2015 17:27

The Guardian article is hilarious. Yes, obviously a joke, unless you really believe Deborah Orr is accusing Julie Bindel of being Jeffrey in a national newspaper. I mean really, think about.

FuckOffJeffrey · 21/08/2015 17:26

His latest post - all public domain info and an out of date password.

Oh and he's learned how to use the local school checker function on right move.

< slow clap >

00100001 · 21/08/2015 17:24

And that's without even trying :/
