Previous thread here and original thread here

We will post here throughout the day with updates and info, please do post any questions and we will get to them as soon as possible.

If you need to get in touch off of the boards, please email [email protected], we have a team of people working through the inbox now and will get back to you ASAP but please do bear with us, it's very busy.

There is also a specific thread about passwords here.

Thanks all
MNHQ

At the crux of it though it's just some socially inadequate loner with too much time on their hands and no meaningful achievements to their name. Being desperate to be noticed must be very frustrating but usually people grow out of that.

akkakk · 21/08/2015 12:56

Meols if you are concerned about a specific password I am happy to receive a PM, but I would only give out the specific password if the PM comes from the account being discussed (to avoid giving it to the wrong person!) otherwise I can give a clue to the password, or you can ask me was it this one... :)

Simurgh · 21/08/2015 12:53

Of course howtorebuild. For many people I suspect there's also a feeling of loss of control over their own lives - it's uncomfortable.

RepeatAdNauseum · 21/08/2015 12:52

Ignore him.

Honestly, don't look at his Twitter (he will eagerly watching how many people have viewed each tweet), don't engage with him, don't wait.

IF something else happens, it'll be dealt with.

I have anxiety too, I get it, but this is one of those situations where you just sit back and observe, because there is nothing you can do right now regardless.

howtorebuild · 21/08/2015 12:46

I meant well, seemingly never a good deed goes unpunished.

Having suffered dv, I get the panic some will feel when he has published. Personally forewarned is forearmed to me and helps me deal with anxiety.

3littlefrogs · 21/08/2015 12:45

I have now had to change my password 4 times.
I m hoping this one will work after today as my brain is getting confused.

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/08/2015 12:44

Why not wait and see what he does/doesn't do first?

MNHQ & police know about the latest tweet

pangaea90 · 21/08/2015 12:43

Itsall yep, this is the password I changed to after the second forced reset. It's letting me log in using it on the app.

howtorebuild · 21/08/2015 12:41

I started a thread in chat, to explain doxing. Can someone add an edited list of those affected, when it comes?

AttitcusFinchIsMyFather · 21/08/2015 12:39

howtorebuild, you would be correct there.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 21/08/2015 12:36

Password is definitely right, address for login page looks right, but when I log in it just takes me to the home page and I can't access my account. Clicking the 'log in' button after that just keeps going back to the home page

You know there have been two forced password resets? Try resetting your password.

howtorebuild · 21/08/2015 12:34

My guess is he has swatted or attempted to swatted others. I guess he isn't been fed though.

StephanieBeacham · 21/08/2015 12:31

MNHQ are you able to say anything to the effect that nobody, to your knowledge, had any visits from armed police last night?

I would be reassured to know. I understand if you can't comment on that though. Just ignore me if so.

RepeatAdNauseum · 21/08/2015 12:30

There's four still up. Three have been banned.

I don't think MNHQ have asked Twitter to help - there is a process for this type of thing, but I don't think it's in place. It wasn't on Tuesday.

There's an insane number of Twitter reports every day, I suppose that while he is not doing much and isn't being reported, he just isn't coming to their attention.

MagpieCursedTea · 21/08/2015 12:24

I know they banned him on the first one but the one he stole and his latest are still up. Twitter just seem a bit slow about it.

RepeatAdNauseum · 21/08/2015 12:22

Doxing is researching and broadcasting personal information.

He means another data leak, I expect.

Magpie They have, on some accounts. Others may not be being reported, or he may not have said anything that is a violation of their terms, etc.

howtorebuild · 21/08/2015 12:21

www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=doxing

Jasonandyawegunorts · 21/08/2015 12:18

what is doxing?

MagpieCursedTea · 21/08/2015 12:17

He's active on Twitter again claiming he'll be doxing people today.
Why haven't Twitter banned him?

pangaea90 · 21/08/2015 12:08

Sorry if this has already come up (started reading back through but will run out of time if I try to get through it all!), but I can't log onto the main site on a computer. Password is definitely right, address for login page looks right, but when I log in it just takes me to the home page and I can't access my account. Clicking the 'log in' button after that just keeps going back to the home page.

Tried in a couple of browsers and still can't get in. I can't remember how much detail about me/kids is stored in my account, but I want to get in and remove as much as possible!

Is this something to do with the hacking, does anybody know, or just something going a bit wrong for me?

RepeatAdNauseum · 21/08/2015 12:07

MNHQ - Is the forced kick-out over now? It didn't ever happen to me. I feel a bit left out :(

YonicScrewdriver · 21/08/2015 12:00

jason, useful posts.

I am getting relatively quick responses to troll reports etc which backs up Rebecca's comment upthread.

blowinahoolie · 21/08/2015 11:56

Ok, thanks 001.

Simurgh · 21/08/2015 11:56

Out of interest, I wonder how many people using this site have recently checked and cleaned their devices? I suspect that any increase in malware is a coincidence (or linked perhaps to the issue of W10 for those on PCs) but I wonder just how many people here have contaminated devices without knowing it?

00100001 · 21/08/2015 11:52

you should only see https at the login screen.
