Grin

Arkkorox · 21/08/2015 15:25

Oh that wasn't my intention at all Sad

I was just trying to say that interacting with him like that obviously is what causes him to persue the swat attacks

Sorry I didn't mean any offence by it at all Blush

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 21/08/2015 15:24

Viva I tried messaging her to ask if she knew about it, but MN wouldn't let me send the message.

I took a screenshot of the post though, and sent it to MNHQ.

YonicScrewdriver · 21/08/2015 15:20

Yy Bertie.

BertieBotts · 21/08/2015 15:19

The social media buttons on MN don't link anything. This is nothing to do with that. I find them annoying and have hidden them too, but they aren't dangerous, honestly.

Arkkorox · 21/08/2015 15:18

Oh hardly, but the last targeted member swat was interacting in the same way. So it wouldn't suprise me if she was the target of last nights one that's all

Not victim blaming ffs Hmm

Lweji · 21/08/2015 15:18

Fully agree with no linking fb, twitter or any social media to each other. Yes, it's a pain to manage all the passwords, but I have a fairly public job and I'd rather keep some stuff private and should shit happen, that it happens only to one of the accounts.

bittapitta · 21/08/2015 15:16

Woah Arkko victim blaming much?

Arkkorox · 21/08/2015 15:14

I think I've found the Twitter user if it's the right one, she was really giving him grief and winding him up so it's not a surprise if she was the targeted one

Simurgh · 21/08/2015 15:12

I don't think everyone flamed you Maryz. Smile

I think you might have a tougher job linking Jeffreygate to the retention of Classic though. Grin

AllThatGlistensIs · 21/08/2015 15:11

Huge, huge sympathies to whoever got swatted last night. Hope they weren't too badly shaken up Flowers

KitKat1985 · 21/08/2015 15:10

Hi MNHQ,

I appreciate it that you may not be able to say, but am I to assume from your last post that the person targeted had engaged with him / them on Twitter?

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 21/08/2015 15:10

I've literally just registered on Twitter yesterday so thatcO can contact MNHQ.
I think I'd better just dereg. seems more grief than use

Don't know if I was on the list but have been logged out by MN twice now & had forced password resets. Will never remember the new one however as is so bloody long...

VivaLeBeaver · 21/08/2015 15:06

Can anyone confirm if it's true that a MNer has had their iTunes account hacked by Jeffery as it had the same password as here? Apparantly he was boasting that he spent £100 on their account?

PlayingSolitaire · 21/08/2015 15:04

Very sad about latest swat. Such a pointless waste of time and money as well as horrid for those involved.

In nicer news, I love the pic of your treats on twitter, and I love that there are such lovely people in the world.

twitter
if you are worried about twitter...
you can make your tweets private (to just those following you)
support.twitter.com/articles/20169886#
www.wikihow.com/Make-Your-Twitter-Account-Private

remove any photo of you on your profile - you can image search with photos - put up a generic photo not tied to you elsewhere...

don't use twitter etc. to log into other websites - you may be giving more of your twitter information to them than you provide on twitter, they may not respect your privacy to the same level...

use boring and not too unique a username where possible - you can track usernames across social networking, e.g. namechk.com/ (green shows what is free - i.e. doesn't have the username registered)

consider using different usernames across different platforms so that there is no obvious link

twirlypoo · 21/08/2015 14:59

God your all right, sorry - it was a boldly stupid post. I've reported it now. Thank you and apologies for being an idiot (that will teach me to multi task!)
