To ask for a round up of all the little MN in-jokes?

Mods, feel free to delete this if it's not okay!

I've been here some months now, and I've noticed a lot of little in-jokes around that come from old threads, some of which are in Classics, etc. Usually when I come across a reference that I don't recognize, someone is kind enough to explain it to me (and sometimes even link the original thread!) but I thought it might be nice, and kind of fun, to gather together as many as we can in one thread!

I'll start. The one that always sticks out to me is the one about the Mexican house thief. That's from this thread.

The other one that had me in absolute stitches was the saga of Sharon, the wasp, and the wine that never reached the carpet, which starts here, and apparently continues here with someone "t-rexing in the Asda"... Hysterical, I tell you.

I'm really hoping some long-time MNers will be along to link to such joys as "cancel the check"; "pom bears"; "Maui"; and the one where everyone MumsNetted as their toddlers :D

(I'm sorry if this is against some unwritten rule. It's not REALLY a thread about a thread, it's a thread about a lot of threads...)

My favourite of all time was "Pirate Sex". I have searched and searched but can't find it probably doing it wrong

To abide by the rules of the thread Grin the gist of it was...

A poster came on to ask if anyone else's partner did what her partner does, i.e. make pirate noises and say words (aye aye cap'n, shiver me timbers, that's a fine chest there you wench and other ridiculous things) whilst having sex.

The answer was NO and the thread degenerated from that point Grin

Here is penetration man www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/2713481-Penetration-man

HicDraconis · 19/07/2017 18:28

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius - was @HoneyDragon also the MNer who exited a swimming pool but left half her togs behind? Minge on show, helpfully pointed out by her DH? Couldn't find the thread but def remember reading something similar.

alltouchedout · 19/07/2017 18:23

Penetration man- was that a whole thread of it's own? I can't find it or remember it accurately enough to explain it here.

DadDadDad · 19/07/2017 18:14

Yes, that was a bit of a highlight of summer '13. If you are new to the Gluezilla saga, thread 4 linked above has some nifty summaries in the first 30 posts or so, so you can get up to speed quickly.

FruBayerischOla · 19/07/2017 17:59

Bloody hell - I've just realised that Gluezilla was four years ago Shock

(IIRC, I believe she's had a 'baby Glue' since then!)

frieda909 · 19/07/2017 17:49

THANK YOU! I have been wondering about Mexican House Thief for ages and indeed it did not disappoint. Worth the wait!

Here's a link to the Gluezilla thread mentioned above if anyone hasn't seen it!

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 19/07/2017 17:34

Was just about to say Terry Wogan's Cock!

supersop60 · 19/07/2017 17:29

Spoonyfucker.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 19/07/2017 17:16

Now we've had the bat picture, it won't be long until someone posts the picture of Terry Wogan's cock.

YouBetterWORK · 19/07/2017 17:12

Before WORKzilla and Shagzilla there was Gluezilla! Which I recall was about a lady whose 'friend' wanted her to decorate her wedding venue but clear orf for the actual wedding?

Also lemon drizzle bitch; can't remember the specifics but it involved a school cake bake, I think LDB was in or involved with the PTA then absolutely dropped herself in it with an reply all email?

I've only recently started to post but I've been lurking for a long, LONG time!

FruBayerischOla · 19/07/2017 17:03

Ah, the MN bat. I'd forgotten about him - but still have the pic!

I'm aware of Tardis [ tardis ]

and Archers which is meant to be the Bull pub sign in Ambridge.

WillowWeeping · 19/07/2017 16:32

thief goddamnit !!

megletthesecond · 19/07/2017 16:31

That bat photo. It was before my time and I've been here a decade.

WillowWeeping · 19/07/2017 16:30

Mexican house theif and penguin bollards be funny as was shiny turning up to the penguin enclosure. Also enjoyed (I think!) kingfupandas epic one lane road stand off.

Penis beaker was the beginning of the end although cutted up pear never did it for me either

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 19/07/2017 16:26

@HoneyDragon dropped immac on the baby's head. She also managed to dye the baby blue (holding a wet baby whilst wearing a non-colour-fast blue top, if memory serves). She also rimmed her Labrador, by tripping up the step into the kitchen and falling face first just as the dog did one of those back-arched-downwards, bum and tail in the air stretches they do.

HoneyDragon is my MN crush not just for the wonderfully random accidents she has, but also for her immense generosity in sharing them with us all.

One of my favourite threads, that I don't think has been mentioned yet, is the one where @TantrumsAndBalloons talked us live through the weekend where she babysat her friend's here-year-old - Well - That went well, didn't it
