A level results day 2026

Slightly jealous of those whose schools let you go in from 8am. Ours says from 9-10am so its a bit unfair on those who need clearing asap for competitive courses. Here's hoping we won't be in that position. So current plan is: 8am check UCAS. 9am arrive at school and I wait in car for her to text me (she says she wont be able to drive herself due to nerves!) Hoping she does well so that she lets me go into school and thank the staff (I work at the school but not in sixth form)

I think it's crackers that some schools still make them collect them on paper.

I'm an EO and an alevel mum and my school and DC school do email results on the dot of 8am.

Fyi on the maths, we received an email from Pearson today to say that actually the results were not outside the normal expectations for paper one.

10 and a bit hours. DS was fine but I imagine tonight not so much, just leaving work now pre-eclipse, so we shall see.
Wine for me tonight as I have taken tomorrow off.

Can't believe results are finally coming tomorrow! Will definitely have a little glass of wine tonight...DC is planning to check results and UCAS updates at 8 am and then going into school for 8.30 if things go well. Otherwise he'll stay home and we'll be spending the morning on clearing lines....

da’s dchool doesn’t open until 9. I think he’ll check ucas first, if he wakes up in time! He seems very chilled, I’m trying to be too!

Slight tension here as we said we want to drive him in in the morning as both he and I know he won't sleep and I'm worried it won't be safe to drive sleep deprived. I got a flat refusal! So now stressing about him driving!

Has anyone got a gift to give? We got one and a card, regardless of what the results are but right now my brain is mush and can't decide when is the best time to give it? First thing in the morning? Later in the day? Wait until the dust settles?

@manywanderings no gift giving here! But if I had it would be before any results were known as a well done for all the effort and hard work.

I have a gift and card and will give him in before he gets results and log in UCAS. He has worked extremely hard and deserves it regardless of grades.

No gift planned as we've helped him with travelling costs this summer (as well as upcoming uni costs) but we'll take him out for a nice celebratory dinner this weekend (or takeaway if he doesn't want to go out if it doesn't go to plan)

Wish our school did online. Instead we have to go in. It’s really hard I think. To make them face everyone else when it could easily be crushing news.

Our pupils have been offered their GCSE results by text, from the exam boards. Is this not happening with A levels?

will be checking in tmrw to see the results. DD had been anxious I think for a week or so. Out with friends watching eclipse, I think it’s better that than sitting in the room worrying about!
I bet they all talk a lot about results too, probably looking at clearing and making list together.

DD seems calm. Apparently she's planning on going in about 9. Her offer is way lower than her predictions so fingers crossed all will be well.

DD's come by email with instructions to go into school if things go awry and queue to speak to the UCAS advisor. She's decided she is going to get up early and read the email alone in a park at 8am. I think it'll be good to have it over with but so so hope she meets her uni offer- wishing all your young people the best also. Tense times!!

DS checking UCAS at 8 then going in. He has a list of phone numbers. His first choice is our local University.Now hes saying hes not sure hes ready to leave home so only wants to go to the local university! Hes probably just panicking but it's now higher stakes if he doesn't hit those grades.

Nervous here. DD is chatty, I think she’s nervous too. We’re telling her how much she worked (compared to her siblings) and how she was ok after each exam.

Lots of unis have released the grades they need for clearing places on the uni website already. Lots appear to be a lot lower than the grades they originally required when applying. It may help teens who are nervous about getting their place if you check tonight.
