I'm in tears listening to her put into words the scale of what has been done to Gaza. I knew it, I've watched it, but having it spoken aloud, and laid out so starkly...

I started a new thread about the Al Jazeera documentary, as a few of you suggested. I just wanted to wait until I’d seen the full documentary.

Well there’s no hierarchy of atrocities and there are still civilian hostages. Also ,despite the paucity of verified eye witness accounts of rape or forensics, in the aftermath of an event attended by several thousand, the UN felt there was significant evidence of the use of restraint and degrading treatment.
No matter how grave, two wrongs don’t make a right. If ten times the number had been affected on 7/10, it still wouldn’t justify the use of starvation as a weapon of war or the forced displacement of a population to a place where safety and basic sanitation and healthcare are not available.
The most important thing at the moment is to pause the fighting , get aid in and get as many hostages out as they can before it’s too late.

I’ve just seen the full documentary. I don’t even know where to start…

I'm sharing this for discussion purposes only. I recognise that there are different opinions on elements of what happened in the terrible events of October 7th. My sharing of this article doesn't mean I agree with everything in it, or deny that horrific events took place. My hope is that we can discuss some of the concerning issues arising from this report.

The people trapped in Gaza are not monsters. They are not evil. They are not Hamas. They are people, just like those of us who unlike them are fortunate enough to have a roof over our heads and food on our plates. The actions of the Israeli government/IDF and Hamas are killing them. Please do what you can to help.

Well said @Scirocco this manmade famine and mass starvation has been appalling to witness. The collective punishment of innocent people including children and babies is beyond belief. I saw a UNICEF video (James_Unicef on Instagram has just gone back into Gaza) and there are hundreds of trucks queued at the border with desperately needed aid which isn’t being allowed in.

As you stated, lots of little things add up.

And if all these things can’t stop this tragedy from unfolding even more, it doesn’t mean that they count for nothing, or that things will always be this way.

Change will come too late for some people, but it won’t be too late for everyone, and every positive action helps.

JazakAllah khair. There are many aid agencies and charities. Islamic Relief has an appeal ongoing, and the Red Cross/Red Crescent do too. If I remember correctly, there was a thread on here previously which had a list of charities.

Every penny donated, every sharing of information, every prayer or good wish made, is one more than was there before we did it, and that's how progress is made, lots of little things add up.
