Hardly the most original title but I didn't want to loose anyone (well that's my excuse for the lack of originality!)

Hi and happy new year everyone!

First of all, congratulations boodleboot! It's brilliant news

Hi to TFLS and sorry about the news of your dog - hope all works out to be ok.

Haven't posted since way before christmas. Was going a bit loony in a ttc kind of way as it looked like travel plans were going to mean DP and I were a zillion miles apart around OV time. Luckily my body managed to hold back with everything and we just managed it (we didn't bonk on the baggage carousel at arrivals but just about). Yes, my grip on reality is slipping, but it was my first post-mc cycle and i was desperate to make the most of the higher fertility.

So, that's all the news about me me me! Let's hope it's a good year for us all

TFLS hope you re dog s ok....like BOODLE we ve also got cats and love them to death ....i guess as we ve no DC they're like our babies...Like you too i worry about my age as i m 39 now and i ve now had 2 MCs and 1 CP soo haven t got a great obsteric history.....Basically think i ve little chance of concieving and making it past 9 weeks pg naturally.....

I ve no answers , just to let you know i can empathise with you...I seem to be doing a lot of that on here....

louisesh · 03/01/2010 23:13

Yeh BIG CONGRATS BOODLE OMG So happy for you , you ve been through the mill.

We had a lovely new year at my parents house,eating,drinking.....Back to sliming world in the next 2 weeks as know my bmis increased again and when i attend the the genetic counseller for ivf i know they re focus on my bmi[its only 2-3 over what it should be] how annoying when you look at all the fatties that get pg naturally.....

MRSR with you completelt...totally empathise with you...i ve kinda lost the will ttc as i would probably miscarry again due to my chromosonal problem.I also worry about my age as i m now 39.All i m hoping for is this time next year we ll hopefully be a step foreward we will have either failed at ivf and begun our adoption process or by a massive strike of luck got pg and actually made it past 9 weeks pg!!!!

Welcome POPPY and 2010JOLLISTER

Hi to everyone else hope you all had a wlovely new year.We re off work tomorrow thank god....need to take the decorations down, i think.Mmmm think i might go and have sex for FUN!!!!!! Whats that again????

2010jollster · 03/01/2010 22:05

oh MrsR, I am sorry.

I know about that "oooo the gap is bigger than I wanted".... I was ecstatic when I fell first month when DS turned one... gap would have been 21 months... ooo, how clever am I...? Not that clever actually...

Now best case scenario is 2.4 years... but actually bigger issue is I'm 42 next birthday. I might not be able to get/stay pregnant again... So just to say... I know it's tough.

Welcome poppy, hope you're doing ok.

BIG but quiet congrats to you Boodle. You must be ecstatic.

I'm just glad no AF yet, which at least means a longer cycle again... doubt I'm pregnant this month, absolutely no signs. But have put a note in phone to test Weds... like I'd forget... .

MrsRigby · 03/01/2010 21:42

Didn't get pregnant staight after miscarriage, so that whole being more fertile thing is a load of crap.

Sister-in-law and friend are due in February and March.

I've got to go back to work on 14th January, the only thing keeping me going was that I would be pregnant and only be there 5 months.

DS only wants his daddy. He won't come near me, let me hold him, kiss, cuddle, play, feed etc. He just wants nothing to do with me.

So, in a nutshell I'm not pregnant, don't want to go back to work, but have to and DS has completely rejected me.

Life is shit right now.

And if by some miracle I did get pregnant, I'd be due in October. DS was born in November. And this is the best case scenario.

Of course thanks to PCOS, getting pregnant could take a long time and then when I am I have an increased risk of miscarriage.

I'm doing everything I can. Trying to improve my diet (I'm a vegetarian anyway), drink more water, exercise, sex every other day, ovulation prediction tests, temping, monitoring CM, reducing caffiene and not yet known to DH subscribing to Fertility Friend.

He keeps going on about the cost of all the pregnancy tests, ovulation tests, fertility thermonotor and diary kit and Fertility Friend. He has a point. But I have to try everything.

So, thats why I've been so quiet.

Congratulations again boodleboot .

Cheepz · 03/01/2010 20:49

boodle - you are so lovely and after everything with the ectopic last time I am thrilled for you that it has happened for you again so soon. I still remember your first BFP as we were matching dates that month and I had only been here a month! Thanks for understanding. Might nip out and get me some preseed though!!

Am feeling abit better. DH and DS were both driving me spare earlier and truth is we have really taken a less active approach these last two months since the BIG disappointment. Lord if I did get pregnant this month on the back of all the wine, coffee, blue cheese, prawns, nuts, antihistamines and total lack of anything resembling a health diet or any kind of supplements I would be worried about the potential impact.

Necked a couple of folic acid tabs tonight and bought some grapefruit juice today to get back on the ttc and fertility boosting wagon.

Would love it if I was pregnant this month as then I wouldn't have to deal with the 10 pounds I gained over Christmas - well - over my pre Christmas holiday and Christmas but holy cow - 10 pounds in 10 days.

viv I always take first day where I catch sight of blood as day 1 - for this month means I am likely to have a 30 or 31 day cycle on the CBFM as I started it o CD26 last month which was when there was 'wipe' action as oppose to full on bleeding action .... tmi?!

VivClicquot · 03/01/2010 18:02

Congrats Boodle - am so pleased for you x

Just bumping me back to square one after AF got me. Quick (and very dim) q though - had blood when I wiped yesterday, but only when I wiped. Today is heavier. So does yesterday count as D1 or today?

thanks guys...and thanks for moving me onto the other list MrsR although i really feel soo soo nervous being on there....like its saying it outloud or something....who knows what this pregnancy will bring, a healthy babe? i would love to think so but hey, like meita says, it is 'our lot' to worry given what we have been through.

been asleep all afternoon as escaped with the times to my bedroom and only read the supplement before waking up in a pile of drool.....DH has barely acknowledged the +ve test with anything other than terror in his eyes...can't blame him really i guess i feel like that but it irked me all the same....

deffo recommend the Pre-Seed tho....no real idea if it played a part but it has gotten me pregnant 2 out of three cycles that we have used it....

Oy boodle! hopsaroundincircleslaughingmadly That's such good news! You've put a big smile on my face!
What a way to start a new year!

And a new year it is. New year and new bean. I'm totally with you there about being worried and upset about the scanning procedures awaiting you. It's so not what you want to be feeling when you discover you're pregnant. But I guess that is our lot and it is a small price to pay, in the big picture. With your history, I suppose they will want to see you as soon as possible to rule out another ectopic? You must, must, must keep us all closely updated. My fingers are soooooo crossed for you, I don't know how I'm managing to keep typing!

Hey, so you're not too excited yet... and of course, there is still a real danger that things will go all wrong again. And yet, your chances of having a baby next September have just risen from around 20% (or even less, due to your one-tube-situation) to probably around 70%... That's good enough for me to be excited for you! Heeheehee ;)

Lots of "stickyintherightplacevibes" over your way!

SamanthaB123 · 03/01/2010 12:25

I feel grotty today. I'm soldiering on but just feel yukky. I'm desperately tired, grouchy and mildly queasy. Far too early for a symptom so I must be unwell. Backtoworkitis maybe ! When is the next school holiday???

Just saw your post boo - of course you are pregnant! Congratulations, fx for a good sticky bean (or two!)... SB

boodleboot · 03/01/2010 12:16

ah crossed posts cheepz....course i don't mind you saying, would be cross if you didn't feel you could....it really is crap for you that you aren't pregnant yet but you aren't out this month so don't give up yet...if its any help i have felt less 'pregant' this month than i did last month when i was convinced i was pregnant....

... don't worry tho, you can't be less excited for me than i am....or DH....the thought of going through the early blood work and vaginal scan again is almost too horrible to comtemplate....the waiting for the results and scan to confirm bean is viable will be like torture....

boodleboot · 03/01/2010 12:09

oh shit. CB digi says PREGNANT 1-2 WEEKS......[lee, you were so right....like i could wait til thurs to test...}

oh.......my.........goodness.......

Cheepz · 03/01/2010 12:07

we are back in uk
pretty sure not pg, no indication at all and feels like a normal month this month so no hype here

boodles yay, heres hoping and so much love to you - although feels abit crap as now you will have been pg twice since my mc in summer sometimes wonder if it will happen for us .... know you wont mind me saying

meita good to hear alls well

am also worried for mrsr

happy new year to all...

SamanthaB123 · 03/01/2010 10:52

Wow, just catching up with all the posts...

Boo You have had how many BFP's now? Of course you are pregnant, congratulations (misting up here a bit), I can't tell you how delighted I am for you! Good idea to keep your feet on the ground, but it's ok to jump up and down a bit too. Five false positives are not likely, you are pregnant!

TFLS I have been taking my temp in my mouth with the digital thermometer that we have in the medicine box. Very technical I know. My temp has gone up now and stayed up - I ovulated on day 16 which is the same as last month. So far the mc doesn't seem to have affected my cycle at all. I don't think that the thermometer is very good or accurate though - if I take my temp consecutively - say three times, the last reading is always higher in spite of the fact that I've barely moved a muscle . If I don't conceive in the next couple of months I will buy a proper one! It sounds like you are having a lousy time, I hope your poor dog is ok and that 2010 is very much better for you .

PoppyIsApain I'm really sorry Christams was so sad for you. You are definatly in the right place. Since I mc'd last month I have met lovely people who really understand and who have been really supportive. Good luck ttc this month - my only advice (and I am a bit of a novice) is not to supress your sadness - I put all my hopes into conceiving again straight away. Through this cycle I have been really up and down, sometimes deleriously happy and others just crying in random places for no particular reason. Be kind to yourself .

Meita You are the font of all knowledge! Thank you for your advice...part of me feels that I should carry on as normal while ttc because it has the danger of taking over my everyday life, hence wanting to sit down at the end of the day with a glass of wine. After last month I feel a bit silly 'acting pregnant' when I am not. Of course in reality, when I had the glass of wine I felt stabs of guilt with every sip for the damage I might be doing to my poor barely conceived baby. I'll just give it a miss from now on, it wasn't even enjoyable .

I think that the lists might have got a bit muddled, I was down as being the same CD yesterday as the day before. I'm having a go at straighening it out but if your details are wrong I'm sorry...

A late happy new year to you all!

Welcome Poppy, what miserable timing for a MC. Not that they're any good at the best of times. I hope the new year will bring you more joy. I'd been watching the August 2010 thread as I'm due then too (fingers crossed) but am too worried and superstitious to actually join it. Anyway, this is a great place to come for support after a MC and through the whole process of TTC after an MC. Lovely ladies here, all of them

waves to everyone... sorry I've been so quiet, though I've been reading everything I never quite felt up to posting. There's so much been happening, it's impossible to do everyone justice...
Big cheers to Cake! If you're too worried to join a "bus" you could come over to www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/812791-Totally-39-s-GRADS-lets-handhold-thru-this - our very own grads thread. It's been a bit quiet overall but with a few of us recent graduates it might liven up.
boodle that sure sounds promising. Yay! Just please, don't get yourself into too much of a state quite yet... It's just that I'm remembering your last cycle... let it be a positive surprise this time, ok?
TFLS awww sorry to hear about your dog. And about your hormonal difficulties. Have you considered trying herbal remedies?
Sam I think I remember to have read somewhere that if you share a bottle of wine a week between yourself and your partner, that would reduce your chances of conceiving by about 20%... so if we take "standard" chances to be 20% per cycle, the alcohol would reduce them to 16% per cycle. ON THE OTHER HAND, in the first ca. two weeks after conception - i.e. in the 2ww - the embryo is protected from the alcohol as it is not yet connected to your bloodstream. AND THEN AGAIN, physician's associations cannot rule out a negative effect of alcohol at any point and thus ideally recommend to not have any from the point of conception onward. AND YET, my mum's midwife recommended her to have a glass of red wine regularly, and I turned out quite all right . At the end of the day, I'd do what feels right - don't get all over-anxious, but perhaps do limit yourself to reasonable amounts? I for one definitely had alcohol in the 2ww and it worked out for me - so far, anyway.
Also, wanted to say that I for one found AF arriving at the end of my WTF cycle a huge blow. I'd put so much hope and expectations into it, it felt like the MC was happening all over again - or, that it had now effectively become real. I think it just really drives it home that you are back to TTC. The pain of an MC can come back to haunt you at strange moments - allow yourself the grief.

Lots of hugs to all who had AF visit. Somehow I thought that if even I got pregnant, everybody else on the list would surely follow suit in a matter of days. It's sad that the world doesn't work that way! My fingers are crossed for you all more than ever.

As to myself, well, Christmas time was quite hectic and stressfull. We spent five days with the OOLs and five days with my family - the latter was just about enough time to recover from the former... I stopped counting how many times I was told to not worry so much, and that people had had healthy babies before it was known that this or that could be harmful (yeah, but somehow there now are MORE healthy babies than earlier. I wonder why?)
Typically, I started feeling sick on Christmas Eve and this has since been a steady companion - I've lost all appetite and thus haven't gained any weight at all although wonderful food was served all the time. But hey, I am not complaining. I've relaxed a bit into thinking "what will be, will be". I have a scan a month today, so there's the next 4ww for me . I've started worrying about what life will be like with a baby - will we manage? Am I mature enough? What will happen to my social life? Was this really a good idea?? - I guess that must be a good sign !

Anyway, that's me signing off again for today - I'll keep up with you all, of course, but probably won't be posting very much (making it up with looooong posts instead, it seems - sorry for that!)

PoppyIsApain · 02/01/2010 17:08
