Just looking for opinions really. I'm 42 - 43 next February. I met my husband late in life. I have no children of my own, one full time stepson (his Mum's passed away). I desperately want to have a baby.
I have a high BMI and do not currently qualify for IVF. I continue to try to lose weight to make that a possibility.
We were trying naturally for about 18 months and became pregnant in May, which ended in a first trimester miscarriage.
Now I'm getting into the monthly rhythm again, I'm really struggling to build up any hope. The numbers just aren't heartening. I really don't want to stop but I also feel like I need to find some optimism if I'm going to keep trying.
I feel quite dark at the moment. I have had a very full, fulfilling life where I never felt like anything was missing, but now that I'm settled into family life, the hole where a baby would be is unbearable. It makes me regret all my choices earlier in life.
