So I'm pretty much put this month, giving up all hope its happening this month. I know August is still a week away but thought I'd start a thread for the August TTCers.
How's everyone doing?

Sorry to hear AF has arrived. The age gap thing really bothers me too. It’s just getting bigger and bigger! I wish I’d started trying earlier, even though there are very good reasons why I didn’t try for another 21 month gap. But now it’s 3 and a half years when I was aiming for 2 years 9 months and growing all the time 😩

Hope you have a lovely holiday! Where are you going? Holiday worked for someone on the previous thread! They went away after negative at 11 dpo and came back with a Pregnant 2-3 weeks! Really hope it happens for you too!

We’re just going to the peaks for 5 days as we did lots of big holidays on Mat leave and would like to do the same again if we have another but hopefully it will be nice. Sorry you’re struggling with the age gap too. It messes with my head and I feel like I’m grieving every month

hope you don’t mind me joining. We’re TTC baby number 3. I had a miscarriage in December at 6 weeks. I stupidly decided to take a test at midnight and now I cant sleep as I think there’s a pale line but worried it’s an indent as I’ve been stung with that before.

Doctors are calling this morning. No idea what to expect. The last time I had an appointment for possible infertility i was 23 and they just did blood tests and scans. Blood tests were normal and scan showed cysts. This time I'm 38 and in a slightly different situation. This time my period hasn't arrived after coming off the pill. Loads of people have said it could be months before it dose. Doctors suggested it should be a few weeks. Its been 6 weeks and nothing. No withdrawal bleed no period not even sure ive had a positive ovulation test. The premom app did show a peek but that was around 3 weeks ago. I hate not knowing.

Negative test for me, 8/9dpo, still just the same shadow I’ve had the last couple of days which is clearly an indent. I know I’ve got a few days left but my temperature has also dropped a bit and I’m feeling a bit pms-y so I’d be surprised by a positive.

I don’t want to give false hope but two days ago so 9DPO I suddenly felt like I was going to come on my period then got that faint line today. Xx

What??? I’m sorry, this doctor sounds so bad?! She is directly contradicting what the first GP said? She can’t be serious that she expects you to wait 2 years before getting help?? I mean, at 38, you only need to try for 6 months to get help with no known issues, forget an absent cycle??

Maybe wait a week and try and get an appointment with the first doctor you saw? So sorry you had such a bad experience!

Unfortunately I don’t think the nhs does testing like that anymore without being on a massive waitlist. You’ll probably just need to wait a few more weeks and it should start, otherwise try the nhs again but most likely be prepared to shell out for private tests if you really want them done within a year. The fertility wait lists are crazy.

Sorry that the line seems to be an indent! How rubbish to get several in a row! What brand are you using? At 8/9 dpo you are still very early, I’ve still got my fingers crossed for you!

Eas6@home. To be fair they are very faint, would never mistake one for a proper positive but maybe the start of something if they hadn’t stayed the same! Not sure you can even really see it in a photo but they’re basically like this.

Thats what I thought, im also 38 so when I get home I'm going to phone my doctors back up and explain that the appointment felt rushed ans she contradicted what the first doctor said so its left me confused

I'd definitely ring back and ask to speak to the other doctor again. Even when I was 29, my GP said 6 months as I have PCOS. 2 years is rubbish.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Exciting to see a few positives since I last checked.

I caved and tested yesterday at 9DPO. I have the worst line eyes but I can see an indent which is so annoying as it does kind of give you hope!! I have been feeling really cold-y and so run down in the evenings and my husband is like you have got to be pregnant which doesnt help 😕

Have done, the receptionist was lovely, she's put in a complaint on my behalf and getting another doctor to ring me back. Explained she completely contradicted what the first doctor told me. I even mention my age and she said it makes no difference where as the first doctor said it dose. Didn't get time to mention the dizziness and sickness, felt so overwhelmed trying to explain it all to the receptionist

Aww I’m so sorry you’re out, it’s so hard the months going past! I’m in the tww of cycle 5 due to test next week but it’s just soo upsetting everymonth, be kind to yourself, give yourself a little treat, and I’m hoping u get to share BFP news with us all soon xx

Also out at 11DPO. Hoping my period actually arrives as last time it didn't and so this cycle has been soooooo long! My hormones need a fresh cycle 😆

Sorry you didn’t get a positive 🙁 hopefully it means you can out it down now for a few weeks and focus on life instead of testing.
