Hi all. I'm 35, 36 in July. Been TTC since June. Had blood tests on CD 21 low progesterone. But at home tests are showing ovulation on day 6-8. If you saw my cycle analysis you'd prob cry! 24-32 days...
Having had a 'friend' recently get pregnant and out of the blue tell me via whatsapp and send a pic, I've had enough of not knowing women in my position to speak to. Hoping to bring some light and hope to the group and feel a bit better after a chat with you all xx

Woah ladies, this thread has exploded! 🤣 Not even caught up, but thought I'd better set up a new one:

TTC 35+ Thread 8 www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/4200767-ttc-35-thread-8

Hope this works and will catch up soon! 😃

@thislittlebird could just be late ovulation this month like me?

Pretty sure ovulation will be tomorrow cd19. Dtd tonight, will try tomorrow (4th day in a row...) I've not actually ov yet, but I'm ALREADY looking at how long till expected AF & marked on calendar 14dpo for testing (2 days after expected missed af) 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

thislittlebird · 23/03/2021 23:02

I love all your cats.

I have a headache today and I’m not convinced I’m gonna ovulate right now Confused. No CM whatsoever so far, which is a bit odd and unlike me to have none at all a few days ahead. It’s not like we’re trying this month anyway but still got a few days left to see if or when I ovulate. It’s interesting to see what happens I guess, as an experiment but still....don’t love that. Wish my body would just do what it’s supposed to do.

Might start my anti anxiety meds soon, since I’m getting a bit stressed about ovulation. Then today I obviously decided I need to up and move somewhere totally new! My brain is a mess today.

Welcome aboard the oldies train @notyetamumbuttrying 👋🏻

It is time. Grin

Kitekat81 · 23/03/2021 20:23

Loving the cute kitten pics @Lexber @Marvellouslymadmum though sorry about poor wee George's paw, hope he makes a speedy recovery!

Welcome @notyetamumbuttrying! I'm looking at private IVF probably in about three months time, am lining up consultations with a couple of clinics next month so we can compare. I'm also in the low AMH club (2.2) and low AFC (6 in January, 7 in February), but no other issues found with me or oh. We've been actively trying for a year, plus 6 months NTNP before that. I'm 39 TTC#1.

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/03/2021 19:37

@Twelvestars no worries 😌 haha thank you 😊 same here 😂
Good luck with the bloods and hycosy next month!
Yeah for endo. Not doing a hycosy, going straight to the lap as it's on the nhs. I don't need any ov drugs as I ovulate regularly and my day 21 was 60 (should be over 30), our issue was male factor to start with and that's now improved. In the meantime I've had my amh tested which is lowish I guess and then with the suspected endo I think ivf is the best bet! But then who knows after the lap is done. If it's all cleared away then natural could work. I went private for my afc and they wanted to redo my amh as they couldn't understand how it was so much lower than my afc. We could try iui now that the sperm is improved I guess. Our funding is 3 rounds of iui or one fresh ivf with 2 frozen if needed, so we'll discuss both options on the 6th April ♥️

Twelvestars · 23/03/2021 19:14

@notyetamumbuttrying

Hi all, may I join? Now that I'm 35 (as of last Friday) I feel it's time to introduce myself. I recognise a few names from the 15 month plus thread so hi 🙋🏾‍♀️ and hi to everyone else! Dh is 38 and we're heading to ivf. Initially it was due to male factor but that's now improved, and I'm now the issue 😬 low amh (5.4) but ok afc (12) and also suspected endo. Waiting for a laparoscopy at the end of the month and our ivf appointment is 6th April. Anyone else in a similar position? This is for our first and we've been ttc 18 months now.
@notyetamumbuttrying sorry was running around prepping dinner. Happy belated birthday and welcome to the 35+ club 🤣 I still feel 25 at heart! I’m afraid I have zero experience with IVF and haven’t yet explored it. But I’ll be doing my fertility blood work including amh and also hycosy in a few weeks. And depending on results, Google will be around to give me answers.

Laparoscopy is to check for endo? Have you done hycosy? Have you also tried clomid/letrozole/ovarian stimulation, IUI and mini IVF and all the assisted reproduction methods (save IVF)?

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/03/2021 19:10

@Twelvestars totally agree! I love my dogs but sometimes I definitely love my cats more 😂

Oh yes it is! @sickofthisyear we need a new thread 😬

Twelvestars · 23/03/2021 19:03

@Marvellouslymadmum when I was growing up, I always had dogs. And they’re beautiful. I remember being so attached to them. But yes cats are less demanding and so that’s why I prefer them.

Btw isn’t our thread approaching its limit? We are around 20 posts away!

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/03/2021 18:49

@climbershell he's called George as he was so curious when we got him that he was named after the monkey lol woohoo to dtd

@Twelvestars aww that's so lovely of you to say, thank you 😢 I've always had both cats and dogs (and many other species) but yes cats are waaaay easier lol

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/03/2021 18:49

@Marvellouslymadmum hi again 👋🏾 oh no, poor kitty!! 😢
@Twelvestars thank you 😊

Twelvestars · 23/03/2021 18:41

@climbershell creative way of him telling you he’s up for some fun 🤣👌🏻 Enjoy it

Twelvestars · 23/03/2021 18:38

@Marvellouslymadmum you’re just such a warm and loving person and even I can sense that through your words, let alone your cats who are in actual contact with you and being pampered by you haha but yeah that’s why I always preferred cats, let’s say, over dogs cause they’re not as needy and they can somewhat let you have your space.

@notyetamumbuttrying welcome on board!

Katiekattty · 23/03/2021 18:26

Yayyyyyy @climbershell baby dust

climbershell · 23/03/2021 18:11

@Marvellouslymadmum he looks so much like my 13 yr old Saxon!!

OH sent me sausage gif, so is up for giving me sausage party tonight 🤣 and will try his stamina for tomorrow 🤞

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/03/2021 18:07

@climbershell glad you finally got a peak!

@notyetamumbuttrying hi! Nice to see you again lol

I was talking about my 9 month old kitten earlier - he did something silly today, probably should've learned a valuable lesson from it, but I doubt it! Appears he decided to play with a wasp or a bee! 😂

Omg the cheap sticks do work for me! Finally a positive!! We dtd last 2 days, but better give OH warning, we need to go again tonight!

TTC 35+ Thread 7
thislittlebird · 23/03/2021 15:30

I dip in my designated ramekin because the sticks are too expensive to accidentally flood in the stream and I try not to waste them Confused @Farfaraway1

Also because if one does fail around ovulation I have the FMU ready to roll again.

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/03/2021 15:18

@Twelvestars I've had cats all my life, 10 was the most we ever had and I currently have 4 lol I tend to make all of mine loving and soppy which works well as they'll come and give you a good snuggle but also happily go off on their own sometimes

Twelvestars · 23/03/2021 15:08

@Marvellouslymadmum that’s adorable although I must say as cats grow older they become very self sufficient and independent to a large extent. They only approach you when they feel like it and when they’re not in the mood, nothing you would do could change their mind. I think that’s why I love them. They are adorable and loving but at the same time not suffocating and too needy. I keep trying to convince my husband to get a cat but he doesn’t want to get emotionally attached to them when they have a short life span... he knows cause he grew up with 7 cats at home!!!

Lexber · 23/03/2021 14:53

She's adorable most of the time, I suppose the neediness is practice for a baby... 🤣🤣

My pair are past needing me, so it's been a long time since I've been depended on!

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/03/2021 14:46

Awwww @Lexber she's super cute!! When I got my last kitten he was teeny and spent the first few weeks on my shoulder under my hair or tucked into my jumper 😂 he's 9 months old now and still thinks my shoulder and boobs are his sleeping place 🙄

JessWi · 23/03/2021 13:06

I’m really trying to keep myself busy with life so I don’t become some crazed woman who only thinks about ttc! I think it’s so important to try and remain positive but also grateful for other things in life, otherwise I could see how all of this could consume you and drive you insane!

Cute kitten @Lexber I currently have my puppy in my office with me, little sh!t keeps barking when I’m in the middle of video meetings! I’m yet to meet another female in my line of work and deal with middle aged, self important men all day, they look at my like I’m a psycho when I try and keep him quiet or even worse, pick him up and sit him on my lap 😂
