TTC after pregnancy loss - thread 27 - BFPs are coming!

New Thread as we're at 988 messages on thread 26. we'll do a quick roll call:

TTC x1
MC x 3 = Sept + Dec 2017 + May 2018
Currently pregnant again 5w4ds
Diagnosed with APS/Hughes Syndrome. On Asprin since October and start Heparin tomorrow. First scan Monday.

@Yukka I can remember having slow rising hgc with DS - I'm going to look out my notes when I get home as I had bloods at 7weeks so I can compare.

My dates could be wildly off though, I didn't chart but I got my period down to a week in dec, and I have a long cycle so likely wouldn't have ovulated until CD20/21. I went through it all with doctor earlier and basically it will be one of your two scenarios below - until I get the results of tomorrow's bloods back, we won't know if it's rising or falling!

@frillyfarmer wow. That's a real conundrum! Could it be the bleed was a sub-chronic haematoma? I've read other ladies have had a SCH thought they'd miscarried but baby survived...I'll hope for you that that's what happened and you have a healthy sticky bean. I know it can be tough to hope yourself in case it's not good news, so let us hope on your behalf!

@frillyfarmer - yikes. That's even more confusing. 4600 isn't a bad number but its potentially a little low for what would now be an 8 ish week pregnancy, however everyone produces different levels so comparing again someone else is useless. The bloods tomorrow will confirm if this is increasing or not.

In my opinion, you either a) do actually have retained products from the MC that weren't visible and your body thinks you're still pregnant or b) you are pregnant, whether original pregnancy and the bleed was irrelevant or a new pregnancy since the bleed.

Are you clear on when you had sex during the last few weeks? When was your last period prior to the bleed on 17th? Could your dates be out?

@mistymeow good luck with your pregnancy I hope it all goes well and you reach a point of enjoying it.

EPU won't scan me until I've had another set of bloods taken tomorrow, so realistically we're looking at next week by the time the results are in and they can book me in.

In the meantime I am going out of my mind. Am I pregnant? My doctor seems to think so. How did the scan show nothing? What the fuck was that bleed? And the negative test? Pfft.

@Yukka I've just had a call from the GP, hgc at 4600 so based on that and my dates from MC he has said he doubts it is a falling level, so they're sending me for a scan.

So now I've got to sit here and over analyse what that actually means. I really can't afford to get my hopes up but one of the reasons I tested in the first place was because I was having symptoms very similar to early pregnancy with DS.

What an utter clusterfuck. Wine

Hi ladies,

Hope you're all doing ok. I'm 5 weeks today and have decided to step away from Mumsnet for a few months. I'm quite anxious and need to distract myself, so thought it best to stop with the forums for the time being. I just want to thank you all so much for all the support you've given me since my mmc last April, as well as the invaluable advice. Sending you all lots of love, I really hope you all have your rainbow babies soon.

@InDreamland big hug. If it helps both my cycles before I fell with my second were only 26 days, so it is possible. I have approx 12 day luteal phase so usually ov cd14 xx

@Lilimum6 glad to read that your ERPC seemed to go well. Hope this is the start of things getting better for you and rmc referral comes through quickly. I totally understand why you feel the doc and nurse heavily pregnant treating you feels insensitive and inappropriate - I would totally feel the same. Can imagine though hospital will say that they still have to carry out their duties and it's their shift to work.

@Yukka glad to hear things are going well with pregnancy. Hearing your positive updates gives hope here (no pressure).

My cold is full blown and I feel dreadful. Definitely can't be pregnant with such a heavy cold. Feeling very sorry for myself. Got gynae appointment tomorrow. Follow up after having bloods and ultrasound - I know consultant will tell me nothing wrong and will discharge from clinic as it's for infertility and given I've been pregnant twice in past 9 months they won't help me. He couldn't understand why my GP had referred me back after first mc because I'd actually got pregnant so he's definitely not going to want to see me again now I've got pregnant since even though we lost that one too. I have now booked appointment at a private clinic for tests for mc for both of us. That appointment is next week. I really hope that they can give us some answers.

Thank you @lilmum6 it’s good to still be in touch with you all. If the worst happened you ladies would be my first point of call.

@frillyfarmer that’s a really good idea. I thought I was seeing a daily pattern that it starts in the evening. I think at this stage baby can sleep so I wondered if it’s an evening grower/wriggler. Acupuncturist suggested also body being tired at the end of the day. I’ll start a diary...thanks! X

@Yukka it's such an anxious time. Everyone assumes the anxiety dissipates after the 12 week scan but for me, one way or another it dogged me all the way to the labour suite and then beyond - I still anxiously watch his sleeping breathing now and he's almost 17months!

I did find that the pains and feelings slotted into some patterns from 16/17 weeks onwards and I kept a diary to channel my inner anxiety - it really helped me at the time so perhaps you could try that? X

@frillyfarmer well if your producing hcg for whatever reason you could have symtptoms. Intrigued as to what hcg level they measure in your blood. Bet tomo can’t come quick enough for you.

I’m doing ok thanks for asking. I’m 14w2d now. Still not confident with this pregnancy and likely I prob won’t until s/he is here. I finished heparin treatment yesterday, next check up is next Wednesday. Just taking it one week at a time x

I can tell you all that some of the tummy pains don’t go away. That’s quite hard, as it feels diff from mc pain but you can’t help worry it could be. It’s growth spurts and you just have to tell yourself everything’s ok in there.

Hi thanks yes we did the negative test ... I decided not to do the ovulation stick as I end up obsessed but regretting that a bit now!!!

@Yukka yes it's definitely the negative pg test after the scan that is throwing all of my theories out 🤷🏻‍♀️

My issue is this week I have been having quite a few PG symptoms I had explained away before I tested, and now I'm in limbo.

I'm really trying to not get any hope that they might have got it wrong because I can't set myself up for a fall having come to understanding I've MC.

How are you getting on, how many weeks now?
