A thread for all those who have suffered the loss of a much wanted baby. Affectionately know as the penguin huddle.

We'll start with a roll call as there have been so many new members lately and so many success stories that I think we've all lost track.

I’m cd24 on a usual 28 day cycle (usual before mc)

I stupidly POAS (IC) this morning and there was a shadow where the positive line should be after 3 mins. It doesn’t photo but it’s there, and lines up with the lines on my previous positive tests. I don’t know whether to test again tomorrow on frer or save it until Sunday.

Fs why do we do this type of stuff to ourselves?

Summerbab · 20/06/2018 10:54

Hi everyone,

Currently waiting ovulation after finishing my pill packet last week. Had a withdrawal bleed that finished Friday, and if I’m judging right, my CM seems to be watery - which according to all the apps and google, I should be ovulating soon.
Hats off to all you ladies that have done this a number of times as I’m resisting getting obsessed - not easy haha.
So interesting to see what my body’s doing too after being on the pill for 12 years.
Did anyone here ovulate straight away after finishing the pill?

TedLife · 20/06/2018 10:48

Welcome to the group @81Sophie and @afictionado - sorry you find yourselves here but hopefully you'll find some fun and comfort here.

Congratulations @Murderino! No mistaking that Smile. Wishing you a relaxed, healthy pregnancy.

I'm 5 dpo at the moment and feeling really down. I feel like i'm always destined to fail and it just won't happen for us. Husband admitted when we were TTC that he's feeling broody and really wants this to happen (last pg was a surprise so this is our first time 'trying') so now I feel like i'm not going to be able to make it happen for him. Things just feel really overwhelming.

afictionado · 20/06/2018 10:33

Hope it's okay if I check in (better late than never?)

@murderino congratulations! 🤞For a sticky and healthy one xxx

Murderino · 20/06/2018 09:34

Thanks so much @KnitKitty - also hoping for a sticky one - calling the dr today, hoping to scan early.

@RedRobin7 makes me due 26th Feb 😊

@Cakelaur I'll come on over - thank you for the invite x

RedRobin7 · 20/06/2018 09:17

@Murderino Congratulations!! Wishing you a successful and healthy pregnancy. What does that make your due date?

I've ordered some CB digitals but not sure they will arrive in time for tomorrow's FMU... think I'll have to put it in a sample and then dip the stick when it arrives in tomorrow's post! 🙈 Think I will believe it if I see the words in writing!

KnitKitty · 20/06/2018 08:47

RedRobin7 That looks like really good progression to me. I understand why you don't feel excited yet, but once AF doesn't show up maybe it'll start to sink in!!! Tentative congratulations. Keep us updated. I'm so excited FOR you! Really hope this one is a sticky bean. Here for you with the ups and the downs. xxx

littleemma1 I'm so pleased for you that your AF arrived without medication, that must feel great! Have a wonderful wedding and a lovely marriage! Don't hesitate to pop back on to say hi everyone once in a while! :)

Thanks sweetpea0318 I really like what you said about concentrating more on dating. This month has been a bit difficult financially for us so there hasn't been a lot of that and I think next month I'll suggest a couple of meals out and what have you. I haven't talked to him yet as I didn't want to be in the wrong frame of mind to do so, and thought it wasn't the best timing, but I do plan on having a chat and explaining my feelings and asking him to be more open about his too. I'm glad it's not just me going through this though, that makes me feel better too. I am feeling a lot more positive again.
MrsGS76 yes, I don't think we can really relate to what it's like for the men in our lives and having to perform. My OH sometimes has issues too. The problem is that he has the most problem if I'm the one initiating together time (even before TTC) so that makes it really hard when TTC because only I know when I need him to up his game. Sigh. It will happen when it happens. It will happen when it happens. It will happen when it happens.

I have actually noticed I tend to get PMS symptoms around ovulation and seem to get really annoyed at the smallest thing, whereas usually I'm really calm and collected. Does anyone else get this too?

Coffeist I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you don't have to wait too long for AF to show up. I think it helps normalise things once you get the first one over with. I felt better emotionally after mine, like I had some closure. I had to wait 38 days for my first AF to show up though. Eugh.

hayleyfx that's brilliant news. I'm so pleased for you! xxx

zarala I really hope that was a sign that you are!!! If you are that's really cool that they both had dreams about it! Keep us updated.

Hi 81Louise. So sorry for your losses and that it's taking so long to get your sticky bean. Welcome to the huddle. How are you?

Murderino!!! Wow!!! Congratulations! There's no denying that one! Really hope it's a sticky one!!
Gosh this month seems to be a good one for BFPs!!

Laney79 I'm with strawberrye on this one. After my CP last month I really don't think it's a good idea to POAS too early. Try to hold off if you can. If it IS implantation it would be too early to detect anything anyway right now, and if it's AF it might only be a day or two till she shows up properly if you're already spotting from that. Sit on your hands until Saturday, I say.

Cakelaur · 20/06/2018 08:42

@Murderino come join us on the bfp thread when you feel ready. More cake for more babies... BFP after MCwww.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3270588-more-cake-for-more-babies-bfp-after-mc

Murderino · 20/06/2018 08:40

Thanks @Cakelaur I couldn't stop looking at it! Just need to keep everything crossed now!

Cakelaur · 20/06/2018 08:11

@Murderino massive congrats babe. And not even a 1-2 weeks!!!! Wowzer!!

@strawberrye I'm so pleased for your peak today. And hopefully your chart lines up perfectly along side it. It's always a relief when everything goes back to "normal".

@Laney79 if it's implantation you can test a couple days after. So I'd say wait until Saturday to be safe. Your hog starts to double once it's implanted so within 48 or so you should have a second line. Good luck. Plus you'll be 12dpo by Saturday.

Murderino · 20/06/2018 08:11

@Laney79 I had implantation bleeding and cramps at cd23 - pretty much light brown cm. Bfp today. I refused to test until after af was late though - mostly due to nerves and protecting myself x

@Blondcat thank you - I'm positive mantra central now! X

strawberrye · 20/06/2018 08:06

@Laney79 hmmm difficult one, could be either implantation bleeding or beginning of AF couldn't it? I've taken to a mantra of trying to put off testing for as long as possible, that way you don't have the heartache of early BFNs or tests which are difficult to interpret, and you're less likely to detect CPs if you wait until AF is due. Also gives your body some time to declare itself. Sorry if that wasn't the answer you were looking for...

Laney79 · 20/06/2018 07:59

Ok-lovelies stop me going nuts please.

9dpo...this morning I had the tiniest bit of brown on wiping...its first proper cycle since my MMC...I'm CD23. Before I fell pregnant in Jan I had cycles of 24 days, 28 days and 21 days...

So I'm trying to convince myself the tiny brown is implantation, but it could also be AF...

The big question is how soon to test? I have three apps-one is saying this sat-the other two a week today. I feel like I don't want to test too early, but I'm desperate to know.

This was a whole lot easier when the attitude was what will be will be. Confused

Blondcat · 20/06/2018 07:54

@hayleyfx that's great news, hope you feel you can get excited soon Smile

@murderino eeeek that's amazing congratulations! Looks like there might be another flurry of BFPs this month!

I have also had POAS success today... Finally a solid smiley this morning, it's also the first month of OPKs and bbt at the same time and I'm pleased to see I think I have an ovulation dip in my temps, great as I find using OPKs a bit stressful.

@boboelephant how are you doing him? Not seen you that much since your AF. Thinking of you Flowers

Newbie21 · 20/06/2018 06:44

@murderino congratulations!!!

@Boboelephant I don't know if I ever wrote a response to your af news (😡) - so sorry if not, work is hectic and I haven't been keeping up so well but I'm just so sorry she turned up, it's totally crap and I hope you're starting to bounce back a little. This will happen for you! Xxx

hayleyfx · 19/06/2018 22:26

Thank you all so much. Still very nervous but starting to feel more real. I’m always here reading the thread but have stepped back a bit, sending good luck to everyone!
