Hi, not sure if I'm posting correctly or in the right place. I've never been on here before, or any other forum like this... I was just hoping to connect with other people who might be in a similar situation to me. I've had several miscarriages - the first when I was 19 (I'm now 31) & then a couple when I was in my mid-20s, a chemical pregnancy last year & one again last month. I'm with a different partner to the one I had my other losses with. We'd been trying for about 6 months, I'd been doing ovulation strip tests but couldn't work them out & started to panic I wasn't ovulating. After GP blood tests my hormone levels are as they should be & this month I've been using ChatGPT for help me in knowing my cycle, when to test & reading the strips - & with chatGPT help lol I manage to catch my LH surge. I've got a diary where I log everything, I started doing it sporadically last month, but doing it daily now so I can really get to know whats "normal" for me - already I can see things are different this month to last month (highly doubt I'm pregnant this month as we haven't really been trying due to emotions from last month). I've started on Pregnacare conception today, partner on Wellman Conception & we've both got Co-Q10 to take from this evening too. My partner is going for a sperm test in a couple weeks as he has his own anxieties around that (obvs hes got some swimmers 🏊‍♂️, but we want to check they're healthy). I'm doing all I can - but it feels heavy. So much logging, ovulation testing, checking every sign & symptom, daily vitamins, GP tests... feels like a never ending science experiment 🙃. Not only that, people try to help but its hard to just keep hearing; "something was probably wrong" "trust the timing, your time will come" '"it just wasnt to be" ... but why not? The other miscarriages weren't really planned that much & I wasnt in the best position but I was still devasted... This time im at a good age, we're both in work, I have a good career & WFH, I can drop my hrs. It feels like now is my time, so why wasn't it. I feel angry, confused, overwhelmed with the process of it all; lots of emotions... sorry for the long rant 😂❤️

Laney79 · 22/05/2018 21:36

Thanks everyone.
@ek78 I'm a bit up and down-trying to stay positive but the fact I haven't stopped bleeding/spotting does get me down. I'm hoping this is AF though-if it is I hope it's over by 31st when we go on Hols-also means I should hopefully ovulate whilst we are away...but then I have to tell myself not to get hopes up as I get so upset if it goes wrong.

How are you doing?

Boboelephant · 22/05/2018 19:20

Thanks @L1zz13.

Everyone new thread is www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/3256408-ttc-after-miscarriage-thread-21-jks

SerenaOverjoyed · 22/05/2018 18:40

Damn strikethrough error!

SerenaOverjoyed · 22/05/2018 18:40

Wow HidCat, that woman is amazing. Honary penguin?

--dunno if I'd let my 10 year old go to ultrasounds if there was repeatedly no heartbeat though.. that stuff if heavy for adults-

HidCat · 22/05/2018 18:22

I thought one MC was bad but this poor lady has really been through it!
www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-5757779/Mother-33-suffered-EIGHTEEN-miscarriages-finally-gives-birth-baby-brother-son.html

Thanks for new thread @L1zz13 I'm sure the title's fine.

L1zz13 · 22/05/2018 18:09

Oh fuck can't change it on my phone. Is that going to be a problem?

L1zz13 · 22/05/2018 18:08

Okay done. Got the title a bit wrong struggling to concentrate!

L1zz13 · 22/05/2018 18:00

And there she blows! Thank fuckety!
But my god do I feel shitty. Spending the rest of the evening horizontal with the pink gin and co-codomol with reach at all times!

We need to get a new thread started. I'll see if I can do it....

@Pampl3m0usse I grew up in Putnoe. Have lived in kempston and shortstown. Xx moved away 15yrs ago but still have family there so pop back from time to time

Mistymeow · 22/05/2018 17:45

@SerenaOverjoyed sorry to hear that, I always get my hopes up too. Without fail. Next month!! :)
@maverick79 thanks for the tip, I will investigate x

ek78 · 22/05/2018 17:26

@maverick79 both times I didn’t use opks for first cycle after Mc. (First time I didn’t even know they existed! How my life has changed!). I just tried to roughly hit mid-cycle. Both times after first AF I’ve switched to using the Clue app and opks. I use the digital smiley ones as I could t get to grips with the other ones. I think I wee too much for them!
@laney79 that sounds to me like AF and quite like my last experience too. How are you doing with it all atm?

MrsLCW · 22/05/2018 17:25

@maverick79 I'm currently in Sunderland, under Dr Hinshaw who is absolutely brilliant. I couldn't be happier with the care I've received to be honest! X

maverick79 · 22/05/2018 17:23

@zarala what is the jks movement?
@mistymeow I use clear blue. I saw on mumsnet that they are recruiting for a trial, depending if you are in treatment or control group you get 2 months of opks to use under their instruction.
@pampl3m0usse we might have been on the same board. This miscarriage was very different from my first two, I think it is classed as missed and was a blighted ovum: bleeding started April 28th for 1 week, scan confirmed i was due to mc. Bleeding stopped.
Had faint positive preg tests, had more scans to reveal I still had the sac, had medical mgmt planned on 14th May.
A&E 13th May with severe pain and fainting. Came home.
Went back 14th for med mgmt, nothing happened.
Bled 17th/18th.
Negative preg test on Monday. Not sure if that helps really.
With the others I did what I was told and only tested 2 weeks after bleeding stopped.
@mrslcw, not sure where you are in n. East but Mr Aird works for Gateshead trust and is one of the top names in fertility.

SerenaOverjoyed · 22/05/2018 17:02

AF is here, the bloody bitch. I was getting hopeful despite myself Sad Angry

DBoo · 22/05/2018 16:08

Feel a bit tired but thats about it at mo @MrsLCW if my memory serves me right i dont tend to get much symptom wise until closer to 6 weeks so i really cant tell either way.

Thanks @hayleyfx

HidCat · 22/05/2018 15:53

@Laney79 it's hard to be sure without a break in bleeding but the timing between negative pg tests and your stronger bleed fits with AF, I think (2 weeks ish).

hayleyfx · 22/05/2018 15:48

@Pampl3m0usse thank you hun! Sorry I think I missed your post - just went back and read it and I’m so sorry for your losses!! You are so strong for getting through all of that. Good luck for when you start TTC again, we’ll all be here to support you! Flowers
@DBoo fingers crossed for tomorrow morning then! I hope you get good news 🤞
@YellowDaffodils86 sorry for the bfn 😔 still got everything crossed for you though - still got a good chance! 🤞

MrsLCW · 22/05/2018 15:25

@Pampl3m0usse don't be daft, doesn't matter when your loss happened or how many you've had, we're all mams who are plodding on without our babies in our arms and it's so bloody difficult! Please don't feel like that at all!
The midwife was honestly brilliant, as was our consultant. Slightly worried as we are moving to Cheshire in the next couple of months, however hubby and I have discussed sticking with and travelling (to the north east) for these consultants until we get a chunk of the way through our next pregnancy before switching to Cheshire! But we'll cross that bridge when it comes to it (which will hopefully be soon!)

Sending you lots of love and good luck wishes!! X

Mistymeow · 22/05/2018 15:01

@LilacIris I didn't know that, thanks for the advice!
@HidCat ah that does sound like me. Although I don't have any of the moods...yet!
@Boboelephant thanks for the info. I didn't used to bother much with opks because I always had fertile CM, but now my body has gone crazy I'm going to pay more attention (have ordered some packs). I really don't think I've O'd at all but who knows (no bd'ing since last week because of UTI waaaah)
@Laney79 I was told that the first af after miscarriage could be very heavy so it does sound like it. Still waiting for mine, hopefully in the next week.

Pampl3m0usse · 22/05/2018 14:56

@YellowDaffodils86 thank you for your kind words. Hopefully next cycle for you. It’s funny how time seems to slow down when you’re trying…. It took me 15 months to conceive my first DD which I know isn’t long in the grand scheme of things but felt like forever.

@ L1zz13 sounds like you’re not too far from me. Beautiful sunny day here in Bedford but I’ve spent all day running around doing house jobs inside as we’re moving house soonish (hopefully!).

@Mistymeow did you ttc this cycle (i.e. between miscarriage and AF) – I think I’m going to give this a go but I’m still spotting and it’s near impossible to tell what my mucous is doing, plus I’ve still a faint positive on a pregnancy test (it’s been showing faintly for a week now, anyone any idea when it might disappear?!!!). @Boboelephant sounds like you did similarly. Any tips anyone? The lovely sonographer nurse at the EPU (there was also a not so lovely one!!) told me I could try right away….

@Littlegoth pleased to see you over here (as opposed to just on the MC board – I’d rather you weren’t over here iyswim!!). I think our dates are likely to be similar ish (miscarriage completed on 12th May for me).

@ whyhastherumgone sorry it sounds like you’ve had such a tough time. But the timing of your MCs makes it look like different causes at least? So hopefully no reason that things won’t work out next time! Fingers crossed for you.

@maverick79 I’m not sure about strength…. You just get on with what’s thrown at you don’t you. I’d choose to be weak and not have had all this rubbish  but I see what you mean! I think you were on the same antenatal group board as me. How long did it take you to get a negative pregnancy test? It’s only ten days since my MC but I’m feeling very impatient. Plus it’s half term next week and it would be super convenient if I could ovulate then (DH and I both teachers!).

@hayleyfx will be thinking of you as the week comes to a close. Fingers crossed.

@zarala thank you for the welcome and oh my at the blood! GP wants me to go for a full blood count (so one vial!) because of how protracted my bleeding was / is and I’ve been putting that off!!!

@MrsLCW sounds like you’ve had such a difficult time. So nice to have someone supportive lined up for when you next fall pregnant. Lovely sonographer at the EPU has said they will scan me at six weeks and then weekly if I need the reassurance… I’ve only had one loss (sorry I feel like a bit of a fraud given what a lot of you seem to have gone through) but she seemed to really understand that emotionally everything else is going to mean that any new pregnancy takes a toil on my MH, especially in the early weeks.

I’m sure I’ve missed lots of you and I’ll try to keep up a bit better! 
xxx

MrsLCW · 22/05/2018 14:55

@DBoo that's exciting! Any symptoms? X

DBoo · 22/05/2018 14:52

@whyhastherumgone im not taking b100 but am taking b6 and b12 and was going to start b3 too. The b vitamins do seem to be good for pregnancy.

DBoo · 22/05/2018 14:51

Testing in the morning @Boboelephant but no af yet.

MrsLCW · 22/05/2018 14:48

@Laney79 so sorry to hear about your MC, this sounds exactly like my first 2 periods after I had my baby at 20 weeks. They were so heavy, lots of clots and cramping. Fx this is AF ready for you to start again lovely xx

Laney79 · 22/05/2018 14:47

Oh and I've been doing opks since 8th may-all negative X
