Question: I detected my surge last night with my cheap stick, negative on clear blue. This morning 12 hours later I have positives on both. I'm concerned about the timing of my iui. At my initial consult they told me to test only in the morning. And my iui would be done the day after my positive. I know I usually get my positive at lunch or in the evening. The just think waiting until tomorrow will be too late. I'm going to be asking them as soon as they open, but was wondering what you ladies thought. If my surge started yesterday shouldn't I have my iui today? Although it will be the same timing as the iui I did that resulted in a pregnancy. Stressing out a bit.

Karendvm · 11/11/2016 10:51

I'm sorry to hear that kwick. I hope the walking does help and that they start growing soon.

kwick · 11/11/2016 09:53

Cd15 scan results: 2 follicles @ 10mm, 1 smaller... next scan on monday.... have been advised to walk for at least 20mins a day as this helps follicle growth... feeling a bit meh

Kwick best of luck to you and your follies!!

Karen seems we are both on course, mine was a day 8 scan though.

Pez thanks for the feedback, thats so sweet! good luck!

so first time injecting menopur last night - well what a faff. what a giant mixing needle, what a lot of fingers and thumbs I seemed to have as they were all in the wrong place constantly!

and during clean up of needles, managed to stab myslef no less than three times in the hands and fingers - WTF is wrong with me?!

kwick · 10/11/2016 08:16

Hmmm I do not think I did a good job of explaining my chart Hmm
Numbers on top row are my cycle says; below that I have charted type of treatment and size of dominant follicle by cycle day and then when I got lh surge and when procedure happened if IUI. Given my current progress I reckon at some point early next week.
caution they usually only book me in when follicle size large enough and I have had lh surge.

CautionHormone · 09/11/2016 21:49

Gosh you ladies have been busy - I have so much to catch up on!

Stork, I'm sorry to hear the book was lame. I won't be buying those!! Thanks for the heads up :)
Great news on your follicle growth. When is egg retrieval likely to be? Will you find out Friday?

Pickle so glad your surgeries are over and done with. Hopefully your recovery will be speedy and not too painful!!
Yay on your OPK! Thats so dark! I never have any luck with them ones- if I buy the cheapies I always have to buy them in the casings. They seem to work then Confused Hmm. I have started testing for my LH surge too... No positives yet tho.

kwick, I'm taking a guess at 12/13! When is IUI scheduled for, or do you not know yet?

pickle162 · 09/11/2016 21:32

Oh bugger I forgot to watch, was watching a silly comedy.
Very organised kwick so is iui likely to be Saturday?

kwick · 09/11/2016 21:00

pickle blimey the Marcus & Monica tests are hard this time!!! Oooh Ibhave actually met Marcus Wareing - I fell to pieces - I find him very attractive Grin

I have made a rudimentary chart of all my treatment cycles (first IUI was cancelled as I was not in the UK) and I am taking bets for how big dominant follicle will be in friday/cd15 Wink

I brought some frozen passion fruit cocktail mix to celebrate being surgery free rather than food....but not sure that I'll drink it tonight as trying to be good but maybe tomorrow as that'll be a more naughty day

pickle162 · 09/11/2016 18:21

I know the trump thing is just insane!!!

Well I think it was so dark as I'd gone to a meeting and then food shopping so hadn't drunk much and desperate for a wee and boy was it dark (tmi-sorry) so think just a nice concentrated cycle. But whoop whoop! 3weeks till amh

So far I've taken 1ibuprofen and 1paracetamol, I'm not really a tablet person unless I'm in agony but will take another tablet before bed so hopefully I sleep better tonight. Going to my besties tomorrow to see her and her 4wk old baby but I'm going in my pj bottoms and don't plan to go anywhere.have brought pizza and salad cos moving is rather painful. Def more sore than last 2 surgeries

kwick hope ur follicles start behaving!

kwick · 09/11/2016 18:14

pickle so great your surgery is done - take loads of drugs - soon you will be preggers and not be able to!!!
Great opk result... I tested at work this pm only did not dip stick in properly... I guess that makes me a bit of a dip stick Confused

stork books sound lame - will defo not get those!
Great ideas pez..... although you made me think about how I will explain lack of grandfather

karen and stork I am well jealous of follicle progress whilst being wildly happy for you both Smile
considering taking left over growth hormone that I have in the fridge

Finding it hard to beat gloom re:Trump.... what saddens me most is that women actually voted for a known misogynist.

Great news on the follicle side stork and karen! (And yeah not so great news from your side of the pond KarenConfused)

Wishing you a speedy recovery from surgery pickle, you should treat yourself to something really yummy tonight!

stork, thanks so much on the book feedback as it will save us a few £... Since you mentionned you're writing your own stories the other day I have been thinking about how I could write mine and I have plenty of ideas using some of my family's examples (e.g one of my nieces having 2 houses since her parents separated and a half sister from another mother etc.), you got me inspired so thanks for that!

Karendvm · 09/11/2016 14:21

pickle must feel great to be done with the surgeries. I wish you speedy healing.

stork lovely news about your follicles.

I had my day 10 scan yesterday. Right ovary a 17 and 18 and a 14 on the left. 7.something lining. The person doing the scan got me all scared. Said I should probably cancel because 3 was too many, and then went on to say she was not on my side and they could all be empty. Right. Went on to talk to my dr and he said everything looks great and to start my opks. So full steam ahead!

Sad day being a neighbour to the Americans. Wtf.

pickle162 · 09/11/2016 13:00

Shame about the books stork but yay for follicles.
I had my last surgery yesterday yayyyy!! Internal stitches this time tho as the final one but frig me it's much more sore. Had to pop to shops as realised I have no food in DOH! Feel like I've done a marathon

StorkAhoy · 09/11/2016 12:38

Quick note guys, just got home from scan and a package from the Donor Conception network had arrived with my two purchases: Our Story kids book about single mum and donor conceived baby £12.50, and Telling and Talking a guide to discussing donor conception with friends and family £12ish. Well the Our Story, is not good. it shifts from the first person perspective and is written very awkwardly and has random platitudes. The other book is a pamphlet, with many pages, but a pamphlet. Have yet to read, but already feeling ripped off.

In other news: 7.8mm, right ovary = 7 follicles ranging from 3-12mm, left ovary = 10 follicles ranging from 4-8mm - they are all very happy with that, starting the menopur tonight, more scanning friday!

StorkAhoy · 08/11/2016 21:22

kwick look at that productivity!

caution I think the nature of the clinic, i.e. The fact that how busy they are is out of their hands means that it's easier for a raft of nurses and embryologists to administer the patients. My trial transfer had a doctor in the room doing the procedure, I forgot that this morning.

If you think of what I've had done though, it's mostly nurse stuff, bloods, scans etc. Those scans eg the scan I had last week to check down regulation was then reviewed by the medical team and I was called with next steps. So that leads me to believe they have daily clinic case reviews.

Anyhoo, i'll tell you more when I know more!

kwick · 08/11/2016 21:02

I see different Drs and nurses all the time - There is no way my clinic could operate 7 days a week and not have this team approach.

caution I am not overly concerned about follicle size (yet). Lets see how things go on Friday.

In the meantime:
I have booked flights and car for break in just over a week with my mum
I have got a quote to paint my hall and stairs
I have restored itunes to my laptop - yesterday I had to restore laptop as it had lost Windows (again) & thought I had lost itunes - thank God all is now ok!
I have had a progress report from my mum: we have a shed!!!

pickle masterchef the professionals is back!!!!

CautionHormone · 08/11/2016 20:10

Thank you for explaining all of that Stork - it's nice to be able to go in with my eyes open and half expect what's coming!!

Yeah, I'll have to see the counsellor on the day of my first consult too. I have an appointment with a consultant (can't remember the name, it's in my letter confirming my app on the 9th Dec), but I don't think it's the Director. Either way it doesn't matter who it is because to me (naively) they're all the same and do the same job, I guess!
It surprises me that it's more nurse run that consultant run, even if they are running off consultant protocol. I would've thought that you would have had to of seen the consultant a lot more than you have done, but I suppose if the nurses can tell you what's what, there's no real need...

I can understand why you'd get a bit peeved re the lack of continuity. It's a bit slapdash, isn't it? But on the other hand, in their defence, i guess they're so busy that they can't have an assigned case load! I'm glad that they managed to sort out your medication problem though. They all know what they're doing... It's just the fact you see a different face every time you go/phone!!

Kwick, sorry to hear about your wild goose chase with your blood tests. GP surgeries get worse!! Have they just not come back yet, or have they lost them?!
Oh no - what did the nurse say re your follicles?? X
