TTC while Breastfeeding (or recently weaned!!) regular cycles and baby dust this way!

Wow pumpkin. Just seen your post. Huge congratulations!! Wondering if I need to go out and buy another test as no sign of AF yet, but also no clear pregnancy symptoms so I'd be very surprised!

writer. I did wean as still hadn't had a period and even the limited feeding I was doing was seemingly stopping it so I think it can make a Huge difference. However while DD is fine I am still sad about it . Hoping for a pregnancy soon to make it worth it.

Ttc #2 for two years. Ds is nearly three and still bfing quite a bit.

Had a miscarriage in Feb.

Writer I'm sure it'll happen soon. When I eventually started ovulating last time round it took us 6 months, and that was with well timed dtd etc. etc.

Is anyone using agnus castus? I used it whilst ttc DD and I think it helped regulate my cycles and bring on ovulation, but it says on the bottle not to take whilst breastfeeding, so???

I'm lying in bed now feeding my toddler because he's not well and woke up upset and crying, calling out for "mommy milk" and I love that I can still give him such comfort. I don't even know how I would stop even if I chose to really.

My cycles are really regular, I ovulate on the same cycle day each month, my luteal phases remain the same etc so I don't understand why it isn't happening.

Prior to breast feeding I've been pregnant twice and caught on the first cycle of trying and now that I'm breastfeeding I've had one miscarriage followed by 6 months or BFNs.

Writer I posted similar few days ago. My wee one is three so I know some would think there's no dilemma for me personally & I should wean. I'm bit older though & if it won't make any difference to my body 'working properly' to get pregnant again I don't want to deny him the opportunity to self wean. It's a difficult decision x

Can I ask if anyone has considered that their breastfeeding may be impeding in falling pregnant so have purposefully weaned for this reason?

I think if I don't conceive by the end of the year I'm going to go to my GP and get my hormones checked to see if my progesterone level is too low to support a pregnsncy which apparently breast feeding can cause.

I don't want to wean, and I will be really sad to do it but if it's the only way that I'm going to get pregnant again then I guess I have no choice

McK it's not exactly the same but I've started night weaning ds (23m)and I thought it would be horrendous but when I say it's all gone, he's been completely fine about it! That's just going to bed, haven't broached overnight feeds yet. I've started refusing more often during the day as well which again, he's suddenly completely fine with. I don't think I want to wean him just yet but I've suddenly realised it might be a lot easier than I previously thought. I think a lot of the time he asks out of habit or boredom or wants a cuddle.
Would cutting down feeds help? It might be easier than you think. But, I've got no idea if it would help your fertility or not

Wow! Congrats pumpkin. There's still hope it seems. Though I am just waiting for AF and planning next cycle, as don't think it will be this month for me. If it would be this month it would be getting pregnant first try twice,which I think is very unlikely.

Have just seen this thread in my timeline (congratulations Pumpkin!) I think I've posted on similar before then disappeared apologies if I have.

Am feeling like a lost cause now - am 42, 2 beautiful kids aged 5 & 3; after my first my cycle started up again whilst still bfeeding & she self weaned when I was pregnant with no2.

No2 still feeds as & when, had a few sporadic cycles around same stage post partum as I was with my first but nothing since. Have had a few random unexplained health issues & GP wondered if I am perimenopausal but can't get accurate readings bce I'm still feeding. I am not having periods - a blessing & yet a curse when we desp want another child.

I know I'm approaching an age when I'll have to accept this & move on but for now am really torn about forcing my toddler to wean on the off chance my cycle will kick start - if he's my last baby I want him to have the same opportunity as my first & self wean when ready.

Anyone got any thoughts? Advice? In a similar position? X

I'm feeling so weird, no AF 5 weeks after coming off the pill which I guess is probably normal, but I feel so achy and hormonal, breastfeeding is still very very painful. Got a bfn on Saturday and I'm trying not to test too much as it's so unlikely I'm pregnant yet! But maybe I got the same batch of tests as you pumpkin....

Sure there's two but not much activity yet!

Maybe there is a bad batch of tests out there? . I am on day 30 and tested again...bfn. Oh well. I have had cycles of 32/33 days since the pregnancy, so not unheard of. I guess I just need to be patient (like all of you this month it seems!)

No symptoms here. 5/6dpo and all normal. Just counting down to the weekend so I can get testing. Or more likely, so AF can show and ruin my plans!

I'm now on day 35 and still no AF. Not unusual for pre pregnancy me but did have nausea over weekend and ended up doing three tests (also ICs) all bfn. Then have had lots and lots of ewcm so convinced myself I was ovulating (after convincing myself I was pregnant) but haven't been able to dtd due to thrush which I have now had twice since weaning (I used to get it a lot but never whilst breastfeeding). So not likely this cycle. But maybe good as would have been a very similar due date to dds birthday. pumpkin sounds like we are in a very similar position right now!!

no still no AF, but wondering if to buy a clear blue n test again tomorrow as that's day 35 n having a few symptoms that could be pregnancy or just AF hormones

According to my fertility app I'm currently in my FW so we're DTD every other day. Although not holding out much hope for the first cycle.

Well, after 13 months I'm finally on my first PP AF! No idea what to expect re cycle length, as for most of the time we were ttc last time round I had undiagnosed hypothyroidism, so my cycles were completely loopy for the first 10 months. Though this time round my thyroid levels are under control....

For those whose periods also took a while to return is it your experience that you became fertile quite quickly? I've read in a few places that fertility returns quicker the later cycles have returned.....
