Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount!

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kats stats I am resident piss stick queen and if you don't test, you get a Starky's Star

When you post stats, add your predicted test/af date. We are currently running at about 49% pregnant with the grads thread over in ante-natal which we all hope to join soon.

WE SHALL WIN IN THE GAME OF SPERM MEETS EGG! IT WILL HAPPEN!

Congrats imp!!!!

Kwick how are you doing ??? All good with your little bean ?

Kathrino · 26/03/2016 16:44

Woohoo, Imp! I have been wondering how you were getting on and I'm so pleased to hear that you got your BFP!

Confused, I've taken a step back from the thread too as I was finding it quite hard. We're in month 5 now and haven't even had a hint of a BFP in that time. I definitely feel like I'm being left behind and more and more convinced that it's not going to happy for us anytime soon. I've been throwing myself into a new project at work which has helped a bit although it doesn't get any easier really.

Kwick709 · 26/03/2016 15:45

Ever and Jem I love your learnings!!!

Not sure if I mentioned before - but I have some contraband left over - just PM me if you u would like me to send to you :)

Kwick709 · 26/03/2016 15:40

CONGRATULATIONS Imp!!!!!!!! I am so pleased! You should know better though ... FRER are the way to go!!!!

So I think I joined the thread around Christmas time - previous to that I was just on one thread for those looking into Donor IUI - over Christmas I had a bit of a binge and started watching a "few" more threads... Yes it is true: I am a thread junkie. Blush

My BFP has come after 5 failed IUI cycles and one that I had to cancel as I was out of the country at critical ovulation point. I am very lucky to have got pregnant with first IVF cycle. This journey has been very hard (and still is as I am very afraid now of a MC) but without the support of you lot I know I would have gone even more cray-cray by now. I do have a few RL friends I share with too... but it is not the same - they are not TTC. As most of you know, I am footloose and fancy-free so I have no partner to get angry with either Envy, although it was very interesting (and daunting) picking out the magic potion Wink.

HepKestrel · 26/03/2016 14:38

So cd12 and still negative opk. Last month positive on cd11. Guess I still have learning to do on my cycle. Am assuming it is soon though so will try to DTD at least everyother day...

KatOnATinRo0f · 26/03/2016 11:28

Fishy in in the same boat as you exactly- 8 months TTC and no joy. Some friends were planing on starting TTC towards the summer/Autumn and I just know they will be pregnant before me!!

LovelyFishy · 26/03/2016 10:45

Confused I'm on cycle 8, been ttc since September but only joined this place 1 month ago. I know how frustrating it can be! At least two months were "perfect" ie, dtd lots and at the right time, and still not pregnant! We started ttc about 1 year before any of our friends. I worry that they'll start ttc, instantly get pregnant and have little families, and we'll still be stuck at the starting line!! It's tough when you want it so bad and all you can do is try not to loose your mind.

Ni4444 · 26/03/2016 09:52

Congrats Imp

I agree...was devastated I didn't get pregnant in month 1, furious at OH for not being up for dtd at times. This seems to have been the best month (cycle6!)...We've figured out he prefers every second day rather than every day pressure, I know my FW better so we agreed which days we were gonna dtd....and as scheduled as that sounds the sex was the best we've had in a while! I guess neither of us was feeling pressured by the other.

This is a bloody roller-coaster ride though....sending love to those of you who are on the down swing of it right now xxx

Evergreen15 · 26/03/2016 09:47

Hep sorry about your mum's call Blush
Imp congrats! GrinGrinGrinGrinThanksThanks
Jem I love your learnings! I might summarise mine!!!!

Cycle 1: dtd is exhausting. You are not 20 anymore. AF arrives. What shit.

Cycle 2: poas is fun. Apparently years of avoiding pregnancy were all for nothing. Getting preggo is a thousand times harder than not. Spent on lovehoney outfits: £25. AF arrives, blame OH

Cycle 3: I hate this. This time is the one. Shit these opks are rubbish and dont work. Damn. Egg released already. Dtd is replaced by sleep. Lovehoney giving me company shares. Another £25. AF arrives. Blame opks.

Cycle 4: babymakingvacation. Perfect timing. Tired but keep dtd. Fucking ridiculuos AF arrives regardless. Blame my age.

Cycle 5: I am not tempting anymore. It will happen eventually. Nobody knows when. A bit like death. But we want this to happen soon and death to happen the latest that is possible. Maybe when I am 100.

ImpYCelyn · 26/03/2016 09:40

Thanks Starky and Vix Smile

Evergreen15 · 26/03/2016 09:37

Moose well said! Grin TTC in a nutshell, it is NOT a magical time!

Confused I am on cycle 5 as well and there are ladies here (for sure kat and I think Kwick was?) that have been on this thread since september. I know this doesnt help, however... It is natural to compare ourselves to others and feel all sort of emotions when some newbies blink and get preggo. If it helps, sometimes other threads are created, for example for people that have been trying for 6 months or more. It might help you checking those out and getting some perspective Smile
It is normal to compare yourself to others and those that say they dont are either the luckiest bitches or lying GrinGrinGrin
Hug your way.

I was feeling like you last week. AF is. Gone now and I feel a bit better. i even feel that maybe for the best I am not preggo yet as this tTC is giving new issues to the relationship and I am well impressed with OH and I love him now even more Smile
Weird.

Confused, kat, just a thought here, would it help to ask how many ladies here are past cycle 5, or 4 or 6? To see that we are not alone?

Big hug

Mooseville · 26/03/2016 09:18

Hopefully a BFP jem!!!!!!

SuchaJem · 26/03/2016 08:40

So well put moose. The animosity when they don't want to DTD is strong. I'm determined to avoid that this month.

Learnings;
Cycle 1 - contrary to expectation you don't necessarily get pregnant first time
Cycle 2 - every twinge smell taste fart could be pregnancy.
Cycle 3 - it's possible to want to murder your DH when he doesn't want to DTD

What will cycle 4 bring?

StarkyTheDirewolf · 26/03/2016 08:35

Congratulations imp!

I dreamt last night I was expressing milk, but was so disappointed that my boobs hadn't got any bigger! Funny dream.

I defo feel like most have us have gone through a similar process in that we are all crazy at the start then think fuck it somewhere along the line and take it more chilled!

ImpYCelyn · 26/03/2016 08:10

Oh and a HPT update. I had those OneStep tests from eBay, which gave solid BFNs despite raging symptoms, including today with fmu, when second wee came up positive on cbd - which is meant to be miles less sensitive. I read this morning that lots of people get false negs with them, which is why I tried my digi, so maybe avoid and get different ic, or stick with frer Grin

ImpYCelyn · 26/03/2016 08:06

Thanks Hep Smile

HepKestrel · 26/03/2016 07:52

Had yet another phone call with my mum where she tells me the family news, I.e. which cousin ( who I haven't spoken to in the last 20 years) is pg. This time the added bonus was a comment on how late she left it to start a family..... Sigh....

ImpYCelyn · 26/03/2016 07:28

Hi everyone, I was absent for ages, sorry! Return to work post op was mega stressful, and then I applied for a new job so didn't TTC in cycle 2. Didn't get it, so was back in the game for cycle 3, and got a BFP on cbd today at 12dpo. I never felt this preggo this early with my first two, so despite being determined to listen to Starky this time... I didn't Blush

I can't remember where we're graduating too though, so I've popped back to check, and wanted to wish huge amounts of positive TTC vibes to everyone Smile

Jamjar12 · 26/03/2016 07:28

Well said moose!!

We started trying in November too confused, it feels like a different decade ago. I think stepping away is a good idea. I didn't realise how much it was taking over my life until I took a little break and my DH commented on how often I was checking the Ovia and Mumsnet. I thought I was being relatively casual and playing it down lol!

I think at the end of the day, so much relies on chance and unfortunately (however much we want to) we can't will ourselves pregnant. I think it's healthy to step back and think about how much other stuff is going on in our lives that needs our attention just as much (or more so) at the moment. Otherwise we will actually go crazy or kill our DHs or something. I really didn't think it would ever happen to me after the first 3 cycles didn't work- it almost killed me, and it definitely scared my DH. Sadly, I think it happens when you least expect it which is excruciating as we have to fight so hard to not expect it every day!

Mooseville · 26/03/2016 07:07

Lovely new lyssie Congrats!!

TTC is bloody stressful and anyone who says they've enjoyed the experience must be bonkers! We're only two months in but it's put a stress into our relationship that wasn't there before. I can honestly say I've never ever felt such animosity towards him when he wouldn't DTD on ovulation day. (He was pretty ill but when you're sat there with your gleamingly positive OPK and all he has to do it get his pants off that's no consolation!)
The 2WW is mental torture and symptoms of AF are also pregnancy symptoms. Then once it happens you've a risk of chems and miscarriage and you're not even allowed a glass of wine to relax! I salute all of us strong women for getting through any of it!! So for those feeling down, it's to bloody be expected, and we just have to plod on as we know the reason why we're doing it means it'll all be worth it in the end....

Rant over!!!

ElleSarcasmo · 26/03/2016 06:44
