Hi Tina, I'm not sure if this will work

Hi tryingno1, are you able to point me to the latest thread regarding this treatment? I can't seem to find it in search, there are only previous ones.

Tina84 · 04/01/2016 21:21

Thank you for your advice tryingno1, really appreciate it.

Kind regards,
Kristina

Tina we don't use this thread anymore, not sure how I stumbled across ur post. We are a few ahead!

But to answer ur question it's because it all begins with implantaion and the thought is if nk are not dealt with ASAP it can lead it a "bad" implantation and therefore mc - implantaion is usually 6-10 days post ovulation and it takes a few days for the pred to build up/work. This is particularly important if u have chemical pregnancies....if u take pred at a bfp it can be too late To have its affect

If u take the pred a day or 2 post a positive ovulation test and stop day ten hopefully won't impact ur cycles. Mr shehata may offer u super ovulation if not bfp at
Month 6.

All the best and join us on the current thread if u fancy!

Tina84 · 03/01/2016 21:37

Hi all,

I've been on prednisolon for the past 5months, on my 6th one now. I wanted to check does anyone know why we need to take it from ovulation and for 10 days then stop, why don't we just start taking it at positive pregnancy test? I feel all this going on and off is messing up my body and wonder if it's affecting my fertility? Does anyone know?

My scan is on Wednesday - scared, nervous and excited! I'm not sure if I'll be able to look!

I'll create a new thread

Evening ladies Smile

Glad your scan went well Trying!! Brilliant news! Let's hope the rest of your plan goes as well. Will keep everything crossed for you.

Snoopy- ignore work and do what you need to do. If you're not ready to go back, don't go back. I'm glad your DH is there to stand up for you. You have to look out for number one.
And get that puppy...puppies make everything better Wink
The breeder we're getting our dog from has just let us know that one for the 3 litters due have been born!! They look like little seal pups! I'm so excited! Grin

Drttc - glad you're looking after yourself. I really hope things work out for you soon. Sending you lots of positivity and virtual hugs.

Sunny - glad you're feeling fairly relaxed. It definitely helps when you get past your MC mile stones. When is your scan? It's so weird not looking or feeling remotely pregnant, yet knowing something is going on in there! I wish I had my own personal ultra sound machine!!

Had my booking appointment today. Felt very weird talking about where I'll have the baby etc. I will be seeing a consultant to deal with my pt gene mutation, so feel happy about that.
And received my scan pics from Cheryl.... Smile

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 05/06/2015 18:54

sunny you need to bottle some of that positive mental attitude and send it to me Grin But I think I'm going to follow your example and put my trust in the treatment plan.

trying I've learnt so much about Ivf from you and I think the way you're approaching it can only increase your chances of a positive outcome.

drttc glad to hear you're treating yourself. I personally went for a walk in the park, to top up vitamin d and look at all the dogs because I'm getting serious about getting a puppy.

Regarding work, it's quite handy having DH on the same team. He's reiterated again that I'm not coming back to do the same job, that I will be on medication prior to conception and the side effects of it. Apparently they were under the impression I just needed a bit of counselling Angry. I'm trying really hard to get this idea of 'letting colleagues down' out of my head, it's not my fault they're short staffed. And I've had colleagues on restricted duties for, what I consider, much lesser reasons and they never felt bad about it so why do I?

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 05/06/2015 18:32

I'm too scared to do it Confused haha

Tryingno1 · 05/06/2015 14:47

Ps who is going to start our new thread?

sunnyday01 · 05/06/2015 14:28

i'm not sure i'm getting to the 'i feel everything is ok' stage but I have got past a couple of personal milestones without seeing blood which have made me feel stronger. However I have no idea what is going on down there, and a lot can still happen. Also I realised that all I can do is follow the treatment plan and look after myself, and as long as I do all of that I can't physically do anything else.

Yeah, I think the rm world has made having scans and being thrown on meds normal! I found the emotional heartbreak of rm so much harder than the anxiety of ivf.....I had built ivf into this awfully scary thing that was going to be highly stressful. Obv things can go wrong and I'm literally not even half way through

I just hope it works Confused

Drttc doesn't sound like u will need it, u get preg at blinking! I just hope u have a good sperm and egg combo this time so things go well.

My acu lady is amazing! She's going to book me in on Monday even though she doesn't work as she wants me to have a session ore egg collections and I'm at work/she's booked tuesday. She's so caring. Must give her a huge gift if I ever get preg and make it on the other end.

Waiting for intralipid nurse patiently....

Drttc · 05/06/2015 14:02

Sunny- I definitely admire your attitude! I think it's because you're getting to the stage where you can feel things are okay now :)

Snoopy, that is absolutely ridiculous about your work. It's the kind of thing that would tempt me into having a righteous rant at them! Just remember, they're in the wrong & it doesn't reflect on you.

Trying, haha you're sounding like an ivf advocate! We're all in that 'we'd do anything' to get our babies category though so ivf is definitely something is consider as well. Maybe we're all a bit more accustomed to being poked and proded than non-rmc lol!

Tryingno1 · 05/06/2015 13:39

Thanks guys!

Sunny I hope next week comes soon. Great ur being so chilled ur prob still in a shock over ur bFp! I have everything crossed that this is going to be ur one...

Snoopy that's so shit of ur work. Wot r u goin to do? Can they place u somewhere else? Just go back when u feel Ready...they will have to understand . But it does just add stress to it all...like u need to be thinking of anything else right now...

Drtcc well done for getting ur hair done ive booked mine in too. Simple treats to make us smile! Have u got a scan booked next week? Keep thinking pistive and I hope ur bean grows.....ive had the life is bitch convo many a times with my dH-I still am shocked that this is my route to parenthood (if I get there). We have all been through so much...

Yes the process is actually fine so far! If it doesn't work im more than happy to keep repeating it until it does (although im aware I'm still in early stages). I've managed to plan my leave in a way that I think I won't need sick leave and won't be in late for scans etc PhEW as I can only take time Off 6 weeks notice which is a pain!

Drttc · 05/06/2015 13:18

As for hyperfertility I've decided to take prog next time I try (from ovulation) & see what happens. I also ordered one of those FSH tests off eBay to see if it indicates anything about my eggs!

Drttc · 05/06/2015 13:16

Trying, great news about your scan! I'm not that familiar with the ivf process so it's cool getting an education as well :) Does the NHS cover 1-2 attempts? I know they cover something. That crazy article about having kids by the time your 30 said something about it costing the NHS £20k ok average per couple & that didn't sound correct to me... Doubt they would be that accommodating- have to fight them for a freaking scan let alone more lol! How are feeling about next week? Ready to roll? ;)

I feel okay today actually. But on my face, got my hair done, and enjoying the sun. Had a picnic last night & may do the same tonight. Then a wedding tomorrow! Thanks for asking ladies :)

I must admit I'm getting a bit of that anger I've heard people talk about though :-/ I'm looking at life as though it's a bitch that I ain't gonna let get me down. Not sure if that's a good approach but least Im not crying haha!

sunnyday01 · 05/06/2015 13:04

great news trying - I remember before my SO scans I would always be worried that nothing was going on in there!

I'm good thanks, I am feeling quite chilled - not sure if that is a good or bad thing. I just want to get to my scan to get some idea of what is going on in there is good or not! I know there is a long way to go, but it will be nice to know something!

OP posts:
Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 05/06/2015 12:19

Excellent news trying. It's good that you feel well, doctor always seem to advise staying calm and relaxed and that's easier if you feel good.

drttc how are you feeling today? Maybe it's worth asking louise about it if you are nervous?

As for me I've got a text message off of my line manager asking me when I'm coming back to work. Nothing like a bit off pressure to send you back to square one Sad DH made it clear to them I wasnt coming back to that team and they seemed to agree but Now that's apparently gone out the window

Tryingno1 · 05/06/2015 11:40

Thanks guys!
Scan went well. I was worrying they were not working as I have no side effects and feel like My normal self! Was expecting to feel at least tired ir sick There's a good number Of eggs and they r growing. I have another scan on Monday and then will be given a date for collection-either wed thurs Of fri.
Hope u had a good bday sunny, how r u feeling?
Drtcc hope ur holding up ok, hope the sun keeps u postive

Keep us posted xxx
Summer Is finally here isn't it-lets hope sun brings some Happier days for us all

Drttc · 04/06/2015 21:04

Trying & Snoopy, very interesting points on hyperfertility. Surely this must fall under that category. I'm scared to ask him about it as I think a very long time ago I heard someone say he doesn't believe in it... I, however, am started to be convinced! Thanks so much for talking this through with me :) I'm feeling better tonight. I think a bit of sunshine & a vent goes a long way!

Trying, can't believe the time has come! Good luck with your scan & hopefully the intralipids will help you relax :) When would the transfer be?

Tryingno1 · 04/06/2015 20:39

Yeah it might be worth asking mr s about progesteronr before BFP as its meant to make lining more selective?
I used to think I had hyperfertility! How I got that wrong Confused. got my first scan and intralipids tmrw. hopefully the drugs r working although I'm terrified they havent given me a big enough dose and will have to cancel the cycle or something!
Thinking of ur drttc xx
Rosa hope funeral was ok
Sunny happy bday
