seeking that's another milestone down, so pleased for you. And that's so exciting about the puppy! Will you post a picture here when you bring them home?

drttc, it's just nice to have something positive to look forward to. And I know it's not exactly the same but we're asking each other similar questions to if it were a baby, 'do you want a boy or a girl', 'what do you think about this name for a boy?' Maybe if it takes my mind off of it all and de stress it'll make the process easier ( just relax and it will happen Grin haha)

Snoopy we're having the exact same conversations about the dog! My mum thinks I've lost the plot, getting a puppy while pregnant!

Snoopy glad dh is setting work straight. I def went back to soon and I massivelg regret it. Sometimes u need someone else to tell u what's right for u.

I am sending lots of positive vibes to everyone else too! I only have seven weeks left now, which I still can't quite believe. So lovely to be here though and I know the struggle and heartache will have been worth it when our little boy arrives, xxxx

Good luck from me too Trying. So great you're coping so well - really think the important a stages will go as smoothly too :) Sorry I've been a bit low profile. Exhausted after this week of stress (though great news in end for us about our baby), but emotional with the funeral and anxious about work restructure too. I've had an excruciating headache and no painkillers allowed. My accu lady put needles all over my face and eyebrows today and it's helped. I'm still feeling sick at times too - hoping it eases off soon.
Hope - can't believe how close you are. Where are you having your baby? Have got your birth plan sorted? I'm (all going well) having a wee boy too - amazing to find out to early :)
Seeking - good luck for Thurs.. You're getting there! :)
Snoopy - hope you're doing ok and work starts behaving. Don't let them affect your recovery - you know what's important.

Rosa I don't think I knew u were having a boy! Did I miss that! Congrats. How cute. I've noticed a lot of us pred ladies have boys, I wonder why...... Sorry ur feeling pants. Can imagine it's all the stress of the preg ontop of the funeral etc. A lot to take onboard. But good times are coming soon!

I'm starting to feel more bloated and a getting twinges today. Just had an amazing massage from dh though to try make me feel better! I also woke up at 5am-damn pred. But I lay there thinking it's ok, if this works out its ok. It's ok. It's ok.

I know it's great .. Ideally lots of us would like one of each as great things about both sexes so I knew whatever I was told I would be happy - but also it's a bit bitter sweet (for me as I realise if everything goes well, and unless we adopt, he may be our only child given my age and physical and emotional reserves!) don't get me wrong - I'd have felt this way either way and I'm really just so bloody happy things seem to be going well with my this baby.
In terms of pred babies.. I think it's likely so many are boys due to fact we are told when to DTD and it's up to and often after ov. If you read about the Shettles method to conceive a girl then it makes sense as you're meant to stop before ov. Be good to know what others think. No way of proving of course.
Sorry you're waking early. I'm still waking at 330. It's a killer. Sometime takes 3 hours to get back to sleep but think it's getting better. I stopped pred yesterday - woohoo!

Rosa, it's so lovely that you're having a boy!!! I guess it's time to start thinking about names too :) So cute! Sounds like pred's been a nightmare. Did you have any other side effects? How's your skin been?

No news here. No bleeding, feeling absolutely fine. If I'd not had my hcg levels checked I'd have assumed this pregnancy was 'the one' tbh... But I know it's not. I'm 5 weeks tomorrow & on Friday I was still reading 1-2 on clearblue... Which means my hcg STILL hadn't reached 200. Nowhere near doubling, and far too low. The occasional 'I'm never going to have children' fear has been creeping in, but I'm trying to ignore it. Bit lost as to what to do next. Think I'm going to give it one more try on just Dr S's plan, & if the next pregnancy doesn't work I'm going to go for further testing (chromosomes/karyotyping, sperm analysis, egg quality). Any other suggestions?

Hope everyone's had a lovely weekend! We went to a country wedding, went for lovely walks, and stayed at a beautiful boutique. Really took advantage of the weather & feeling better for it :)

Hi drtcc. I'm sorry ur feeling like this isn't the one. But I would say with no spotting etc things may be fine in there. Those clear blue r the devil spawn! Are u having another blood test or scan anytime? I don't want to go into other options I know about as I'm hoping it would be a wasted convo for u...
Got my second scan tmrw I really hope my little follucles have started growing a bit more. I've been worrying im on too small a dose of meds. But then today started feeling sick and also am quite bloated. Let's hope my ovaries r behaving!

Sorry you're feeling a bit blue Drttc. Limbo is the worst place to be. I really hope that your fears are wrong and your little bean is doing well. Surly you need to be scanned really?

I did race for life today ... Walked it though! Felt like a massive cop out but was not willing to risk running it, despite being pretty good at running. But was a beautiful day for it.
Got a banger of a headache now... Going to make DH give me a head massage Grin

Thanks Trying & Seeking! I'm actually feeling really well (emotionally & physically). I think I sound blue because it's just a sad subject :( It's a unique situation as usually you don't find out you're in trouble until a few weeks in... I had no time to build up hopes! I will definitely be getting my hcg checked next time as well! I'm not having any further testing, just waiting for 'something' to happen (or not). I'll sort a 6 wk scan locally if it gets to that.

Trying, definitely sounds like something is going on in there. Good luck tomorrow & I'm site you'll get the result you're hoping for!

Well done seeking! Great to stretch the legs anyway- especially on a day like today!

Hey guys. Just had my other scan. Was ok not great. I've got 12 follicles which is an okish number I was hoping for more but I think they were airing on side of caution and I prob could have had hugher doses of meds but as its my first they were worried about over stimulating me. Also my lining isn't that great which has been a long standing worry of mine. Not feeling so happy or confident anymore. The consultant is going to give me some extra oestrogen after collection with a hope the lining grows more. Egg collection is on Thursday. Let's hope all those follicles have eggs in them.

Trying, sorry you're disappointed with your scan :( I don't know very much about ivf, but I do follow a lot of ivf-ers on Instagram... One running theme seems to be that all it takes is that ONE special egg! There are women who are really disappointed with their numbers post egg retrieval/fertilization, then have a successful pregnancy. I know having many of them increases the odds, but it's really no guarantee. It's all about finding THE egg that will be your rainbow. Also, there's no reason to think the extra oestrogen won't give your lining the boost it needs. And of course, this has been a first go, so dosages can be changed if need be. I know it's not a perfect result, but this can still very much be your cycle!

Thanks drttc. My lining has always been a drama I had a HSG done a few months ago as I was worried about ashermans syndrome after my 2 d and c. I didn't have it..but my lining is always between 6-7 when 8 and above gives better pregnancy rate. The consultant said it should grow a little in the next few days as my natural owstrogen surges just before collection.
I thought that this might be my cycle as I've gotten preg before and hoped my body would remember how to do it. Feeling worried now...but yes you do only need one...and so much of it is pot luck. I'll know more on Thursday once I know how many eggs they have collected as sometimes it can be more or Less than what is seen on scan....

Try not to be disappointed Trying. You never know how things might pan out. You still have a few days for your lining to thicken up and the extra oestrogen will do the trick. Just remember they know what they're doing and have probably seen and had success with worse results. Keep positive Hun. Like Drttc said, it only takes one egg! Will they put one back in or are they going to put two in? Will keep everything crossed for you.

Thanks seeking! I Know of people with hardly any follicles who get BFP and some with many and bfn. So it's just pop luck! I was so proud as to how chirpy I was! Seem
To have lost my zen. I'm back at work tmrw till Thursday so hopefully will distract me!

Try not to be too down trying. My knowledge around Ivf isn't great but from what I've read most doctors tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to meds in the first cycle because they don't want to do more harm than good. So it's good that you've been feeling so well and you haven't had any adverse reactions and remember it only takes one good egg!

I seem to have developed a rash all over my right forearm. Don't know what's going on with my skin at the moment. My OH forms haven't been filled in yet and a job I was going to go for has been advertised today but now I don't think I can go for it. So sick of miscarriage ruining my life

Thanks snoopy. The nurse and my acupunture lady seem to think the number of Follicles is good. I think I just would have preferred great or amazing rather than good!!
It's just my lining im worrying about. But sup it can still Grow in the next few days.

I'm getting my usual pre-scan jitters again! It's amazing how you can be fine one day and blithering wreck the next!
I'm sure everything will be fine Trying. Hope work takes your mind off things and you find some inner zen!
