Just dropping in to give Sweetie a hug; it's a roller-coaster and age is such a bugger for worrying us. I have no idea if that result is correct, but I am surprised they didn't test you when you had IVF first time as they are meant to use the result to work out what protocol to follow and how much to stimulate you. My AMH was low-ish at 9.5 and I'm sure Smegs won't mind me adding that hers was around 4.5 (I think) the month she got pregnant. AMH is a bit confusing and really if there is an egg of good quality that's all you need plus really good spermies... I really feel for you; wanting a baby and struggling like this is a true killer; I so hope that you have a breakthrough and get that BFP.

Waves and hugs to all others. xxx

Shrieklette · 16/10/2012 07:20

Morning Brookers!

keep there are at least two ways to classify sperm, the 'strict' way and another way whose name I can't remember. The strict way is happy if 5% are normal, because they are looking for a lot more inconsistencies and have a higher bar that the sperm must pass in order to be classed as normal. The other way expects 30% - 60% to be normal, because they have lower standards and just look for basic irregularities like two heads, two tails and holes in the head etc. Many places in the UK now test to strict standards, whereas many places outside of the uk test to other standards. I had been freaking out about MrGeek's 1% until my clinic explained this to me. They were perfectly happy with the 1%, said it was low but not horrendous. Well done on putting your plan in place, it sounds like you've got your BFP in the bag!

sweetie good luck with ringing your clinic today. Hopefully they can give you a better answer. 0.0 just sounds wrong. You know you ovulate!

solars brooking for your sticky emby!

Oh bugger, where's the morning gone? Time to get ready for work.

keepitgoing · 16/10/2012 06:09

that sounds like progress, beedle. You need to get smacking that rat, m'dear. Pull out all your womanly charms.

DH has excellent volume, count and motility. It's just the morphology. I imagine all the dud ones getting in the way of the good ones, so even though overall there should be enough good ones... hopefully IUI will be enough to sort them out though. Brooking!

I think I ovulated today, peak on cbfm (only cd12). Actually felt a pain in my right side (this morning during swi Blush. but is it all imagined, as my scan told me it would be on the right? Come on, eggy, FIND THAT (non-dud) SPERM!!!

BeedleTheBard · 16/10/2012 05:39

sweetie I agrre with everyone else, either something went wrong with teh test or the IVF drugs have affected it. Didn't smegs get a really low AMH result before her ironic BFP, or am I thinking of someone else?

keep sounds like a plan. I think you might be right about why there is such a difference in treatment plans, though I did think it was the WHO who said that 4% morphology was OK, though I suppose all the other things need to be OK too

solars still brooking hope you're OK

Still no SWI/SFF here, and MrB still hasn't been to the Dr Angry but he has cut down on alcohol and I met him in the coffee room at work yesterday and he was drinking tea (the fertility dr told him to cut down on caffeine) :o and he's taking his vitamins without me nagging him :o

keepitgoing · 16/10/2012 03:15

oh sweetie, i have no idea, but do know that AMH is not always taken seriously - they don't test for it in lots of places. Can you go and talk to your GP? Though they may not know. I think maybe phoning the clinic is best first off, to double check the result. Then i suppose wait until your consultant appointment and try not to freak out/wait for your ironic BFP.

We now have a plan. All three hospitals suggested IUI for 3-6 rounds pre-IVF, due to my age (30). So this is it - December IUI, January IUI, February IUI/break, March IUI, April IVF, May break, June IVF/FET. We will be doing IUI with clomid to stimulate more than one egg, but the doctor will cancel the cycle if there are more than three eggs. They say that spinning the sperm may help to get rid of many of the malformed ones (which seem to be our problem). So fingers crossed!!

It's confusing because the consultant in the UK suggested that 3-4% morphology is ok, and classed us as unexplained. Everyone here says it's pretty bad. I wonder if it's a combination of NHS not wanting us to be explained, and therefore have IVF sooner, and people here wanting us to get treatment. Two of the consultants here suggested we'd need ICSI rather than normal IVF, but i guess we'll cross that bridge if/when we come to it.

Just brooking now that one of those cycles will lead to my baby.

solars thinking of you

GenericDietCola · 15/10/2012 21:37

Sweetie that result can't be right - you know you ovulate and have regular periods, so surely the concentration has either been affected by the IVF cycle (like Shriek said), or it's a misprint or something. Don't throw in that towel yet, brooker!

Solars · 15/10/2012 20:03

X-post Sweetie yay! you go girl! I'm brooking for you lovely x

Solars · 15/10/2012 20:01

Sorry I don't have much time to update but just read your post Sweetie, I don't know a great deal about amh but i do know you can still get pregnant even with low reserves, so please, please don't think the worst. In the first instance I would double check with the clinic about the number and then await what the clinic has to say about it all. When exactly is your appointment?

TrickorTreatSweetie · 15/10/2012 20:00

I am a brooker so I am not believing it. I still have very regular periods and everything else so I am going to ring them tomorrow to see if it is possible a mistake has been made, or the IVF treatment may have effected the results.

Thanks for your support.

Shrieklette · 15/10/2012 19:14

Oh sweetie love, lots of hugs and hand holding. Is it possible that your IVF cycle could have affected the results? I think AMH is produced by follicles themselves so maybe the drugs and surgical messing-about has given your ovaries a bit of a shock to the system. Brooking that that is the case for you. Do you still track temps? As long as you know you are ovulating surely that is all that matters, because AMH is not a measure of quality, just quantity. (((hugs)))

SecretSparkle · 15/10/2012 19:06

Oh sweetie I have no idea but don't give up just yet, was it expensive? Could you get retested?

PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 15/10/2012 18:35

Oh Sweetie I am sorry I don't know anything that could help, but I didn't want to leave you with out {{{{{hugs}}}}} and some hand holding.

TrickorTreatSweetie · 15/10/2012 18:20

Ladies please can I ask you a question as I am a bit very worried.

I decided to pay for a private AMH test after our failed IVF treatment so that I would have all the info to allow us to make an informed decision for our next steps. We have a failed cycle review they do like to rub it in with the consultant at the end of October so i wanted all the facts to take along.

Anyway the results came back today, the result was 0.0 pmol/l. Do you think a mistake has been made? I am not sure if to ring to check if this is possible. I didn't expect the result to be anything other than low but to be 0.0 is beyond shocking.

The letter says under 6.0 pmol/l is low ovarian reserve requiring maximum stimulation.
6.1-24.0 pmol/l shows reduced ovarian reserve for safe responders.
24.1-70.0 pmol/l optimum ovarian reserve for reduced stimulation protocol.

70 pmol/l associated with PCOS.

SecretSparkle · 15/10/2012 13:33

Well the doc sent me home with some leaflets to read, so all I can do now is wait!!

PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 15/10/2012 13:08

No you won't, give it a few weeks and I promise you will find something new to mental about Grin

SecretSparkle · 15/10/2012 13:00

thanks Boo They seem to have eased up a bit after I had some lunch!! am totes going to mental about it for the next 9 months though!!!

PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 15/10/2012 12:52

:( hang on, trying again did this one work

PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 15/10/2012 12:51

Hope this works, doing it off my phone, Sparks http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/antenatalhealth/physicalhealth/tummycramps/ just so you know I'm not mental

PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 15/10/2012 12:28

Not in the slightest :) I had some cramping and I asked my mw about it, (with ds2 not this one) and she said it was most likely to be either bean making itself comfortable or the ligaments and muscle around your womble starting to loosen and stretch ready for the next 9 months, so don't worry as long as they don't get too bad, It happened to me again this time but I was ready for it. (You may also want to be ready for a stabbing pain when you stand/twist)

Wobbly also fine, not everyone gets the full on cuddle the toilet sickness, some lucky ones just feel a bit tipsy iykwim. And don't get me started on tired, I'm like a toddler, needing a nap then an early night too :(

All in all you sound completely mental and panicky about everything like a normal preggo Grin

SecretSparkle · 15/10/2012 12:15

theres some cramping, a bit like AF is on its way, which worries the hell out of me. Im already beyond tired, but then i barely slept last night knowing that i was testing and i just feel a bit queasy, not sick just a little wobbly!!

so? am i off my rocker?

PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 15/10/2012 11:41

Ooh Sparks symptoms you say? You tell us what you have and we will tell you if you are mental Grin

SecretSparkle · 15/10/2012 10:47

Tock I did absolutely nothing (except bonking of course) we decided to have a bit of time off, so I didnt use my CBFM, nor any OPKs, nor charting. I noticed some EWCM just over 2 weeks ago, and thought we may as well dtd. Wasnt really even thinking about it, drank wine, ate blue cheese etc etc right up until last weekend. Theres a fair bit going on at home, so I wouldnt say I was relaxed but I definately wasnt focused on TTC.

Boo It all seems a bit alien to be honest, like its not real. Even seeing it written down was weird. Then I had to go to the docs, to find out if I can still take my piriton while diffed (I can) so obviously had to tell her that we'd had a BFP and she was so super nice and my referral has been sent off. I actually cried when I saw her writing 'pregnant and pleased' and we all had a bit of a joke about conceiving after being referred!!

Now Im wondering whether the symptoms Im feeling could have possibly started already, or if its all in my head. Hmm

mrsparks has got his serious head on, and has told me when we get home tonight we need to sit down and work out finances [boring emoticon]

PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 15/10/2012 10:01

Morning ladies. Sparks how are you and Mr s feeling? Do you believe it yet? I love the cbd, just because it says deffo preggo in actual words Grin

Solars hoping you are managing to relax, still doing a sticky emby dance and brooking for you.

good morning Shriek bacon butty or just a coffee? Also have you thought of setting your cat on af? It did a pretty thorough job on the mouse Grin

Cheery wave to everyone else.

clickingtock · 15/10/2012 08:34

Dropping in to say I'm doing the massivist brooking no argument ever for Solars and her little emby - I hope you are resting and that the 26th comes flying round. It's been a hullvua journey for you Solars so it's your time. BROOK, brook, brook.

And fabulous news to Sparks - congrutulations, lady, how wonderful - how did you reckon you cracked the egg, Sparks

SecretSparkle · 15/10/2012 08:07

biscuit it was to check to make sure a large cyst had gone, they assumed it was a follicle (?!) as I'd not long ovulated, they'd already diagnoses me with PCOS from the last scan!! I'll call them later and see what they have to say!!

keep yes of course your right, I've not really been relaxed at all, just bonked whenever I saw EWCM!! mrkeep is right, every day you get one step closer!!!
