Just Shagging Part 10; No science or skill, JS at will!

AWomanCalledHorse · 27/06/2012 14:03

Welcome to the lazy way to make a baby, part 10!!

Just Shagging (JS) is ttc using ye olde shagging & crossing fingers methods, our tools are your body, OH?s body..urm some wine & lots of finger crossing.

All are welcome, most leave happy & upduffed! The last two threads have been very successful; thread 8 had 5 BFP?s, thread 9 had 6 BFP?s....so we?re due 7 BFP?s here, which means we all need to get shagging.

We don?t ?do?; OPKS, taking temp or harcore charting...although it is nice to know when ERTD is due.
Which brings us to acronyms & slang;
AF=ERTD (Evil Red Tide Of Doom).
EWCM=Pant Snot
Getting a BFP soon after joining thread= Doing a kitten
You=Are a viroid, no idea why but it goes long back to the dawn of time.
DTD=JS or donning the Shag cape.
POAS=Sometimes referred to as PIAR (Pissing In A Ramekin), as we?re such classy ladies

Here is last thread for proof that it works, and that you can't shut us up Grin

Here is the Graduates thread!

Yes wing a terrible sufferer of low self esteem here :o The thread got a little heated so I gracefully retreated as I am such a peace loving soul!
I also had a read through the conception myths thread that was linked to up there somewhere That struck me as full of conflicting ideas and a couple of real antsy characters so I left that as well, pulling my shag cape tightly round me as I departed :o
I was also disappointed to read that apparently a woman should NOT orgasm first to optimise conception Hmm I have been looking forward to playing that card as well :o
And while I am on a roll and neglecting my housework what does a lot of pant snot mean? I mean for a few days, almost like at OV but too late for that and longer than usual- am I broken?!

WingDefence · 19/07/2012 12:38

Oh I'm really sorry not Wink

Interesting to see your age gap. I thought ours was big! You obviously have low self esteem and is all a bit creepy if you ask me

Right, sorry to derail the thread. Back to JSing!

topbannana · 19/07/2012 12:22

Damn you wing, I have the day off and am supposed to be engaged in wholesome household activities, not jollying around MN looking at even more threads. No more links you villain!!!!! :o

WingDefence · 19/07/2012 11:52

And hello Kitten and boo to Practising Wine

WingDefence · 19/07/2012 11:51

Top and Not that is really funny!

Btw those of you with relic DHs, fancy heading over to this thread to share your experiences? I have already. Blush

Age Gaps

topbannana · 19/07/2012 11:41

Yes notso in years to come when DS asks why he is an only child I shall lay the blame firmly at his feet. What with his constant "popping in" to the bedroom for a hug, his inability to stay outside for more than 10 minutes before remembering a vital piece of information he needs to impart and his constant need to ask questions, its no wonder he remains an only child perhaps that is his plan?!

notsoold · 19/07/2012 11:24

School holidays from this afternoon!!! Hurray!!!

All I need is to send DS out (in this weather?), with some food (otherwise he would be back in 5 minutes), take the dog for a walk( otherwise she stares at you non stop) and then time for JS ...only for 10 minutes because by then DS is back because of weather/lack of food/ wants to stay home really and the best phrase ever " because without me here you do't have anything to do!"...

Kittenkatzen · 19/07/2012 10:57

Morning ladies!

frying excellent work on the google talk shenanigans, wish i could be brave enough to give it a go but i think i'd start laughing and kill the moment!

top ertd is due on the 30th for me - glad to have someone to share the wait with :) Have already told myself that even if ertd is late I'm not POAS before the 4th, and only then because I have a wedding to go to that day so will need to know for drinking purposes!

practising Angry at ertd sneaking up on you like that.....but to put a positive spin on it, that means you're a couple of days ahead on the next cycle then :)

I'm really hoping for the weather to brighten up a bit too - our back garden is a swamp at the moment, and the grass is getting on for a foot high! However, I'm sat at work looking out the window at a mahoosive black angry looking cloud right now so I won't be holding my breath!

topbannana · 19/07/2012 10:32

Morning all, an unusual excursion onto MN on the laptop so I may just remember everybody and everything today :o
Notso hope the MC does not get you down too much. Sometimes it does just sneak up on you and it knocks you for six :(
Wing fingers crossed that ERTD does not show up, I don't have an app as I would obsessively stare at it for hours Hmm
practising damn your ERTD but yay for Wine without guilt
dysgu I am shocked and impressed with your Google talk. DH and I are far too conservative for anything like that :o
guinea so sorry to hear your news, though on the bright side at least you know and have a date to work on for the next months JSing
kitten 2ww here for us too, do you know when ERTD should be due?

So all quiet here, into the 2ww which is good as the relic flu has manifested itself into a particularly nasty strain of "woman flu" :( Actually it is not flu, more a feeling of general grottiness, and my IBS is grumbling away to itself again which it did when I was first pg with DS Mind you I was becoming a little battle worn from DH's one man conception crusade so a few days off was most welcome :o
DS breaks up on Friday which I am dreading as it IS STILL BLOODY RAINING here. The forecast is due to pick up soon allegedly but until then it is not a great prospect having an 8 year old confined to the house for 6 weeks Hmm

WingDefence · 19/07/2012 07:47

Morning all :)

Notsoold Hope you have some support in this time after your MC. It's completely understandable to have bad days :(

I think ERTD is due today but after last month I'm just going to ignor it until it arrives which I'm sure it will Apart from knowing when it's a reasonable time to POAS, there is no other advantage to having a vaguely regular cycle because it actually increases stress levels around ERTD-expected time.

Anyway, hope you all get to see the sun at least for a while today Brew

notsoold · 18/07/2012 23:17

Sorry if doesn't make sense (grammar and all) ...long day! I meant wing and top how are you??
And hi to everybody else...it is difficult to read and write from my phone!!!

notsoold · 18/07/2012 23:14

Really sorry for my dark post in the morning. I have in fairness recovered ( if that is possible) from the mc and just waiting for the AF. However out of the blue it the sadness hits you as it did in the last few days...sorry again.
guinea the lack of control is a difficult thing for me as well...and I wish that (as said in another post) that as soon as you were pregnant that you knew for sure.
practising wine sound wonderful right now!!!
Well I will leave you all for some jsing and I am still laughing about the relic flu.
wing how are you and top doing??

Practisingparent · 18/07/2012 21:19

Good on you frying, I think you are dead brave with the google talk antics, and great about self esteem boost!

Notso sorry about mc, must be horrible, I can only imagine how sad that must be Sad

ERTD got me good and early and very unexpected today! But wasn't holding much hope for this month, so pretty glad it didn't keep me waiting for ages! indulging in some mid week Wine

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 18/07/2012 18:38

Sorry you've been sad today Notso. I had a mc shortly after DD and it is very sad :( .

I was thinking last night about how we are all, to some extent or another, in control of our lives...where we live, what job we do, who we socialise with...and yet no-one has any control over having a baby. Not being in control feels to me like a scary frustrating experience and probably because I'm so used to feeling in control.

It also made me feel really grateful for the two beautiful monsters children I've got.

That being said, I am so pleased its nearly wine time bedtime!!

WingDefence · 18/07/2012 14:52

Frying you must be knackered (and not the JSing type unfortunately)!

Well done on heading off the old boyfriend. You don't want to be on Jeremy Kyle doing a DNA in 9 months' time do you?! Grin

Notsoold I don't know what to say about your MC I'm afraid :( There must be a support thread on here or are you in contact with a local MC support group?

fryingpantoface · 18/07/2012 12:12

Morning!
I'm back. Kinda fear this won't be interesting to anyone else!

Well, Friday my mom arrived for the weekend. We did a sneaky js while they were in the other room I then decided to go to the North East on the Sunday.

DS came down with a cold which meant i had 45 mins sleep that night. In total. It was absolutely awful. So to cheer me up, DH and I indulged in a Google Talk (so face to face) well, phone to phone, fool around. Flipping lovely! Again, felt a bit naughty. Not condusive to having a baby, but more fun and less embarrassing then i thought.

tuesday ran, literally, into an old boyfriend up the street. He asked me out! Told him i was married, but he said he didn't care. He was given a short shrift! But i did feel smug all day.

Got home tuesday night, too tired to js, but couldn't sleep until half one. had to get up for work at 6.15. Soo tired!

So that was it! Hope i didn't disppoint too much

Kittenkatzen · 18/07/2012 10:45

Morning shaggers :)

dysgu not much going on then!

notso sorry you're feeling down :( have a Brew and chocolate from me to cheer you up a little bit

Well I think that's me into the 2ww now....not convinced it will be our month - my phone app reckons ov was Monday, and the last time we JS'd was Sunday morning. We'll see!

Happy Wednesday all.....halfway through the week - I can see the weekend on the horizon!

notsoold · 18/07/2012 08:35

Morning all!
I have been reading with interest all the post (aren't you good writers?). But I don't have any news. DH has the kidney stone surgery on the 6th, but still in a bit of pain (after treatment) and I am just having one of those sad days week re MC. yes it sucks :(
impressed with you and the home improvement Dysgu
wing a good day to you without migraines :)
guinea you will get there!!
top relic flu?? That is really good. I will use the name (mentioning you for copyrighs ) when DH is "dying" with a runny nose!

Dysgu · 17/07/2012 22:01

This thread moves on so quickly...

I have such a busy week as school finishes this week and my class is moving on to secondary school so we have LOADS to do and so much stuff seems to be organised at the last minute! We have a new head teacher, this is the first class to leave in 3 years (we have moved from a 3-tier to a 2-tier system) and, being a church school , we have all the extra stuff the diocese organises so today we had to take a trip to the mainland for the leavers' service in the cathedral.

Only got a fashion show, prom (!), and leavers' assembly to go and we are done - then i have one day to pack up my room and try to get into my new room before school closes for cleaning for a month and we are off on holiday on the 27th (only as far as Kent).

And we still have the decorators in, we have had the carpet people round and will hopefully sort out for the carpet to be fitted next week before our holiday. We also have to sort a house clean as the place is so full of plaster dust - should we do that before or after the carpet is fitted.

SO we are not quite keeping up with the JSing EOD but continue to aim for that! I think I will have to get DP to sort an APP for his iphone as I have totally lost track of where I am in my cycle and am just waiting for ERTD but cannot recall when it is due to arrive.

But the sun was shining here today and I baked cookies with my DDs after school so life is good. Hope it is good with you all.

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 17/07/2012 19:33

Stuck we've not been trying for long but DS was an accident and I only found out at 12 weeks! I became pg within 1st cycle with DD hence I am ridiculously impatient. I have always had problems with my periods until I stopped BFing DD at which point they became to-the-day accurate. Then they suddenly went all haywire so Dr said to check I am still OVing.

DP doesn't think I'll get pg whilst ERTD is regular as I wasnt when it happened before Grin. Who knows...just want to know I am OVing then we'll go back to JSing.

WingDefence · 17/07/2012 18:06

Oh Guinea I am so sorry to hear that it's probably ERTD. I know exactly how you feel after last month. I remember being more angry than anything after the sadness went.

And if you have an irregular cycle then temp charting could help you you must only stick to JSing of course :)

Stuck at least it is free food!

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 17/07/2012 17:56

WD Here's the myths thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/1518836-TTC-Myths-Exposed

I'm not due an ERTD for a while till 5th August, and just checking my app today is start of my fertile phase! I don't really believe them so we have been busy (on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday!!!) and to stick to the plan I will be donning the shag cape tonight!!!

Didn't like the hot food choices today so it was the salad bar - nothing special but it is food! I'm not a regular migraine sufferer but occasionally have vision migraines so I know that wierd spacey feeling afterwards, at least you've not got the pain part anymore.

Guineapigs I can't remember have you been TTC for long? Get that appointment sorted and let us know what they say. I'm sure you're not the only one that starts with a 'JS' approach and it morphs into a bit more control. I can see myself going that way in a few months time as I am a control freak!!

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 17/07/2012 17:34

Glad you're head is feeling better Wing.

So it seems that the spotting was preceding ERTD Sad. I feel rubbish. Started bleeding mid-morning, I thought with it being so long since the last ERTD that it would be really heavy but not a lot so far - just feel really crampy and bloated (tmi?)

I think I am going to start charting this month. We're still going to try EOD and focus on lots of sex but I just want to know if/when I'm OV. At least that way I'll know when to expect my period instead of it being six weeks and thinking I could be pregnant. No matter how much I tell myself I'll stay relaxed I know that as soon as I'm late (especially this late) that I'll start getting my hopes up. The Dr also said he would do a blood test to check my hormone levels so I'll book in tomorrow. Not going to do OPKs as I don't want to start focusing sex around OV but think temp charting would help me to feel like I'm doing something.

Part of me thinks I desperately want to be pg RIGHT NOW (because this would give me the 'perfect' age gap and because I'm ridiculously impatient. The other part thinks that you can't rush these things and God knows exactly what he's doing. Confused

WingDefence · 17/07/2012 13:19

Thanks Kitten. My head isn't hurting as such now, but I'm just in a post-migraine limbo where it feels as if my brain is floating about in my skull and I'm a bit woooo and dizzy. I'm sure I'll be fine later though. And happy 6 months anniversary! Grin

Hi there Stuck! I'm afraid you'll have to remind me when ERTD is/was due?

And please do send me to the TTC Myths thread. You are very good in repeating those things to yourself. I reckon I should take my cue from you :)

Hope the dodgy canteen lunch wasn't too dodgy!

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 17/07/2012 12:00

Hi all, am a bit stuck at work as systems not working so I have some time to kill!
I am trying hard not to symptom spot and also not to get obsessive but I think I am failing. Even DP said 'you really are bitten by the broody bug aren't you?'. So I think my attempts at playing it cool are not working!

I read the thread about TTC myths and hopefully it will calm me down... I will keep repeating a) most symptoms are PMT symptoms, b) as we are in 4th month of trying it is massively early days and I shouldn't worry till Christmas (although I'm thinking a trip to docs at end of Sept as it will be 6 months and I am getting on a bit - just to see if they can give me and DP a once over!) and c) we will do EOD this month because in previous months I think we weren't quite as diligent!

So onto other things - first I'd seen of Pampered Chef - looks very nice! I don't 'need' anything so not going to look in detail but next time I need to replace something I was intending to get quality things so this will be first place to take a look!

Right - time for lunch, lets go see what the dodgy canteen has in store for us today!
