Welcome to the lazy way to make a baby, part 10!!

Just Shagging (JS) is ttc using ye olde shagging & crossing fingers methods, our tools are your body, OH?s body..urm some wine & lots of finger crossing.

All are welcome, most leave happy & upduffed! The last two threads have been very successful; thread 8 had 5 BFP?s, thread 9 had 6 BFP?s....so we?re due 7 BFP?s here, which means we all need to get shagging.

We don?t ?do?; OPKS, taking temp or harcore charting...although it is nice to know when ERTD is due.
Which brings us to acronyms & slang;
AF=ERTD (Evil Red Tide Of Doom).
EWCM=Pant Snot
Getting a BFP soon after joining thread= Doing a kitten
You=Are a viroid, no idea why but it goes long back to the dawn of time.
DTD=JS or donning the Shag cape.
POAS=Sometimes referred to as PIAR (Pissing In A Ramekin), as we?re such classy ladies

Here is last thread for proof that it works, and that you can't shut us up Grin

Here is the Graduates thread!

That's a bit of a dilemma stuck - and there was me fretting about the fact that I've booked standing/mosh pit tickets for a gig in late October!

Well, in the spirit of AIBU......I think YANBU :) To be honest though, I actually think neither of you are being unreasonable - your concerns about Canada and the potential for you to have to be left behind are perfectly valid, but your DH has an equally valid point in saying that you can't live life based on what if's and just in cases. When would it be likely to happen and how long would he/you be gone for?

topbannana · 20/07/2012 14:23

Goodness stuck I don't fancy your choices much. I suppose its an opportunity for him to go to Canada and theres a chance you will be able to join him. Europe would be easier all round but I suppose by your reasoning that life goes on, Canada it is. Not much help there was I?!
And as for making plans, we have been TTC for so long that life HAS to go on so we have a holiday booked to Southern France for next August. Disregarding a late stage pregnancy in August we could probably manage or we have the option to move further North. Not too sure about the 9 hour drive down though, I would probably veto that and fly but time will tell :o

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 20/07/2012 14:03

frying what a heap of shite... here's hoping that you are the small exception where it may come back quicker and there's no harm in keeping that shag cape in use on a regular basis - even if its just for the 'happy' endorphins from lots of sex and orgasms...

I was going to start an AIBU post and then decided that a) I am not ready to face the responses in that thread and b) I think I know I'm being unreasonable. I'll try to explain my question - and hopefully you can follow!

Are any of you making plans that assume you will get pregnant? We've been talking about next year, work travel and holidays. I do think life should go on, so we are still planning travel/holidays, but I want them to be in Europe so they are either easier to still do while pg or cheap enough that if I don't want to/can't go its not going to be a big expense. My other half can sign up for overseas work and his first choice is Canada. It is the best option, and if not pregnant I can go with him, if early pregnant I can still go with him but if late pregnancy or even already with young baby I will be in UK on my own. That makes me sad - I wish he'd only chosen European places. His reasoning is that he's never got his first choice anyway and we don't know how things will work out and whether I will be pregnant then. Arghhh - I know the Canada option is the best, but if my dream comes true then I will be pregnant and Canada will be the worst option...

So what do my fellow JS's think? And are you making or holding off plans because of wanting to be pregnant?

fryingpantoface · 20/07/2012 13:46

Will do! Will do!

WingDefence · 20/07/2012 13:41

No wonder you're sad about it. Bloody doctors.

Saying that, they got some things wrong with my pregnancy and even bigger things with my friends' that I really don't think the medical profession has a detailed clue about what goes on with our bodies. They told my aunt she was barren so she adopted and then went on to have three children naturally!

"Just keep shagging, just keep shagging" to be sung like Dory in Finding Nemo
:)

fryingpantoface · 20/07/2012 12:21

Thank you all so much. I'm actually in tears about it. it took such a long time, and so much heartache, to have Ethan that we thought we'd best start trying now. So to hear this, it's really made me sad. I'm just hoping they, the hcp, are wrong.

Kittenkatzen · 20/07/2012 11:56

omg frying that's awful I can't believe you were so badly misinformed :( they definitely didn't say up to a year?

and if we go by the opening post on this thread, then I say you should definitely stay....

Just Shagging (JS) is ttc using ye olde shagging & crossing fingers methods, our tools are your body, OH?s body..urm some wine & lots of finger crossing.

fryingpantoface · 20/07/2012 11:49

Thanks everyone.

I'm actually gutted, and annoyed, and frustrated. I text DH to tell him, and he asked if I was happy with it. It's not like I can do anything about it. I'll just have to keep having sex and see what happens. Now I don't know whether I should stay on this thread now

ChildOfThe1980s · 20/07/2012 11:29

Frying I'm so sorry about your bad news. :( They really should have told you about that before.

At least doctors don't always know everything (esp about fertility) so there is a small chance that you could get pregnant before then.

I would make some special couple time, like having a romantic weekend away, to help you not focus on this.

I am due ERTD today (day 35) and am getting typical cramps. Feeling sad again, even though it's really no surprise.

All the best to everyone in the 2WW.

topbannana · 20/07/2012 11:21

Shit frying thats a shock :( You seem to have been given bad advice somewhere along the line Angry

fryingpantoface · 20/07/2012 11:12

I know wing a year. No one ever said, I was told 48 hours. If nothing has happened in 8 months, I'm to go in and they'll are what they can do.

I called nhs direct, they agreed with the Dr. :(

WingDefence · 20/07/2012 10:55

A year Frying??? That's mad! Was that ever in any of the advice they gave you before you had the implant, because I'd say that's a bloody big factor in choosing it for contraception! :(

If I were you I'd call NHS direct or call or visit your local family planning centre for a 2nd opinion. Oh and Keep on JSing of course :)

fryingpantoface · 20/07/2012 10:19

Well just back from the Dr, he said it will take a year for my period to come back, so a year to get pregnant.

He doesn't think it will happen before then. Kinda feel sad

Kittenkatzen · 20/07/2012 09:38

notso nope my DH is not in the well preserved relic gang - I have me a toyboy! ;) not a massive age gap though, only 2 years (.....and 3 months and 7 days - not that I'm counting!). That said, he is definitely the "grown up" in our relationship - I do tease him about having been born 40 yrs old. Love him.

wing i am sure that there is absolutely no issue with JSing in the xWW....I would find you some evidence but I'm at work and I'm not sure that having "can you shag in the 2ww" on my search history would do me many career favours!

guinea boo to ertd showing up, but hurrah for her sodding off so quickly - dust off that shag cape and get on it (literally!)

Fx for top and the gushing pant snot - nearly spat my weetabix out when I read that!

Well I am supposedly 4dpo today. Maaan are the days dragging! Feeling a bit bloated today but I think that probably has more to do with 3 weetabix for breakfast than anything else!

I was just having a browse through this thread and had to quietly dab my eyes at my desk :( and I don't even have kids yet! Big wimp I am.

Oh and I have a confession to make. I had a glass of wine last night Blush. It's DH's fault, honest.

WingDefence · 20/07/2012 08:43

Ahh will head over there in a min and check that thread out. It got a bit messy (as you'll see from my last comments!).

xWW I meant x = undetermined number (of weeks)! Because last time it was 9 days so that'd be 1.2ww?! Confused Sorry, it's really too early for all this sort of maths chat! I was trying to say any time waiting after ERTD hasn't turned up :)

I certainly don't feel very pg but do feel bloated as of ERTD is going to come so I'm not getting my hopes up this month. I just hope that if it's going to come, it doesn't take ages like for Guinea. (Btw Guinea, how long was that in the end and are you convinced at was ERTD?)

notsoold · 20/07/2012 08:18

wing doing anything worried is no fun, even more js ( supposedly grown up play time). I don't know what xww means, so I will not say much.
However isn't the theory that EOD is to cover all bases ( you know oving late etc). You will know more than I
guinea poor you! Is there anybody that needs telling off??? Use those hormones to your advantage... :).
Ps I could not resist and posted on the age thread, got all misty eye with DH and instead of jsing we had a very late glass of wine....

WingDefence · 20/07/2012 07:46

Guinea better get that shag cape donned then!!

Not I am silly, I meant the xWW around ERTD is due (and later of the same thing happens as last month). I have a crazy notion that it'll affect any v v v early pg that might be happening and I don't want to take the chance. E.g. Tomorrow night DS is having a sleepover at his cousins so DH and I have a night off. But if ERTD hasn't arrived by then I'll feel wrong about JSing just in case.

Tell me I'm wrong please?! Hmm

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 20/07/2012 00:33

Sorry to hear about the ERTD practising, but like you said, at least you know one way or the other.

Wing fc that ERTD stays away AND you get a BFP (feel I need to be more specific these days!!)

Top I don't envy your 2ww. FC for you too. Btw, 'gushing' pant snot has been a symptom in both my pregnancies! That being said I had it last week and thought it might be an indication I was up duffed so what do I know!

My ERTD arrived on Tuesday and has gone already. Hormones have gone crazy Confused.

notsoold · 19/07/2012 23:35

wing isn't the logic jsing as often as possible throughout the month?
Hope you have a good night and ertd
does not show....that would be great wouldn't it?

WingDefence · 19/07/2012 23:16

Not that is so funny about your DS! DH has been in London tonight so no JSing for us but I do get twitchy around the time ERTD is due. I know it's silly but I just can't until I know one way or the other. Unless someone can show me somewhere about JSing being okay when it's the 2ww?

Night all!

notsoold · 19/07/2012 22:51

top so true!!! :)
wing I will go and read the thread now!!!
kitten are you the proud spouse of a well preserved relic like top, wing and me? Please do tell!!!
Positively gushing....WI.... only on this thread!!!! You people make me laugh!
Today DS comes from school and into his room with the door closed. We are on next room but one (keeping for the nursery because I have to be optimistic, right?) With the door closed.
We happy, quietly messing about when DS shouted banging the wall (from his room) 'I don't know what you are doing but stop it!'
How am I supposed to get jsing nad pg in this household?
We call the bastard landlord although he sounded just like my dad!!!
Jsing again just because we can...

notsoold · 19/07/2012 22:32

Sorry but I am not giving up orgasms...I gave up nice fattening cakes ( i didn't want to be the fattest mum at the school gates, too much bbq ( because of cow's farts),too much make up, mini skirts, normal hair colour (with the bloody awful teen years of dd)....I will not give up orgasms!

topbannana · 19/07/2012 17:18

"positively gushing" eh?! Is that a good thing or not?! I imagine myself as a member of the local W.I - a positively gushing member of the community :o
And FWIW I am normally not a gusher by any stretch of the imagination. So I foolishly Googled it and it says it can be an early sign of pregnancy :)
but apparently it could also be an STD, infection or cancer so I went away Hmm

Kittenkatzen · 19/07/2012 17:05

Shock i also thought orgasms were good for conception - something about the contractions sucking up the swimmers better? Either way I like that explanation and will be sticking to it!

Might go and have a little look at the age gaps thread.....

WingDefence · 19/07/2012 16:55

I've only ever heard that orgasms are good for conception. I am definitely not giving those up Shock

As for pant snot, I'm not sure. I'd imagine though that our bodies are all different and whilst one of us may be a dry as a bone most of the time, others (such as you Wink ) are positively gushing normally?!
