If you are TTC after Miscarriage (or waiting to start trying again), this is the place to be. This thread is full of lots of lovely ladies on the post MC rollercoster and is full of support and advice from people who have been through it, and know what you are going through.
Jump on board and join in the for some laughter, crying or even the odd ranting (whatever you need). There?s lots of Wine, Brew (caffeine free of course Smile ) and chocolate, and more importantly, friendly ?ears?.

The thread moves fast so bob in and out as you please. Don?t be afraid to ask anything ? nothing is ever TMI!!!

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC

WFT cycle = what the f*uck cycle (cycle after mc but before first AF)
For more accronyms see here

Good luck to all ? The last one was a lucky thread for lots of people so here's hoping for lots more healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread Grin

This is the previous thread

collie thanks for the links and so sorry to hear about your nan Sad Must be hard as I presume you haven't shared your recent news with her or did you get a chance to before she passed away? Big hugs for you.

hopeful it's a difficult decision, I had a MC at 5 weeks but I only knew when I started bleeding anyway so the decision was taken out of my hands. I had a D&C with my last MC as I found out at my 12 week scan but the baby had died 3 weeks before and so there was no way I would wait any longer for the process to happen naturally. The D&C will involve a general anaesthetic which in itself can be quite a traumatic thing for some people but the procedure itself is quick and relatively pain free and you are less likely to suffer any infection afterwards. On the other hand there is always a risk with a D&C re fertility and things (very slight) so I would def do your research first.

mumtum bloody hell, I bet you and dh are knackered!! My gp advised to swi every other day to ensure sperm is rich but I know lots of people on here have had joy with the SMEP plan but I am not sure swi twice a day will be a benefit or not? Confused hope it does work for you though.

yrmotb thanks for thinking of me, yes the first few days are pretty pants, aren't they?

Right, gonna research my flax seed oil now!

Youremindmeofthebabe · 21/03/2011 10:38

collie Sorry to hear about your nan. Hope you're ok.

chloe nice to see you back, and that you've had a nice weekend. I was starting to worry about you. I know cd1-5 only seem to get worse with time. Hugs.

securegal · 21/03/2011 10:02

Morning all...

Collie - I'm so sorry to hear about your nan. Thinking of you and your family.

Cep - thinking of you today also - good luck!!

*Chloe8 - that sounds like a lovely weekend!

MumTum - nice to meet you! I am a newbie on here, so have got some catching up to do! Is there a reason why you can't TTC for a year after this month? Is OH going away?

Waves to all...

SGxxx

hopeful1 · 21/03/2011 10:00

collie - so sorry to hear about your nan

Cep - very best of luck for today

I went to see my GP today. Because i would only be 5 weeks I can wait to see if I miscarry naturally or go for a D&C, I dont know what to do as just want to get on with starting again and as I need fertiltiy treatment it is a long drawn out process.

Could anyone advise whether I should have D&C or wait to see what happens naturally.....not a very patient person though so waiting is never a good option for me!!

meliesmummy · 21/03/2011 09:42

Hi mumtum, sounds exhausting but fx it works and you get your bfp! Hope it's all ok at home x

Hi collie, how are you today? Was it your mums mum or dads? Big hugs to you, are you able to have some time off work?

Morning everyone

Chloe someone (maybe collie?) advised to take epo until ovulation and then flax seed oil. And maybe grapefruit juice? Although I haven't because I hate grapefruit! Grin for the positive opk though! Sounds like a lovely weekend.

Hi happy, make yourself comfortable x

Great news banana!!!!

Hi to lily and everyone else, and hope you are ok Cep

lily06 · 21/03/2011 08:29

Good luck today Cep, will be thinking of you.

Chloe55 · 21/03/2011 08:20

Morning ladies,

Shock at so many newbies! Welcome to you all though and hopefully you will all be getting your BFPs soon. I second what the others have said about waiting for a BFN first though.

[cep] Good luck today, I will be thinking about you and look forward to good news.

[hadrian] that sucks, I know how you feel though and understand your lurkiness for now.

Feeling better today, have had a fab weekend. DH and I made the weekend all about us and didn't make any plans with friends. We even had the best SWI on sat for a long long time, was passionate, romantic and bloody brilliant instead of a quick in out in out shake it all about in the hope we produce something a fortnight later Hmm Grin Then had a lovely sunday lunch at mums yesterday.

Can I ask, I have been taking EPO capsules, zinc and Spatone iron supplement (the iron mainly for my horrendous AFs) but POAS (ovulation) this morning and there is a very faint line - CD10 woohoo! I appreciate I have got PCOS though so it's not necessarily showing accurate results but they seemed to work exactly how they should last month so I am using them again. basically, I know I should stop EPO now but what am I meant to take instead, do I just carry on with the zinc and folic acid? I have also been giving zinc to dh, is that right? I will also start having brazil nuts again for the next couple of weeks. I'm new to this supplement taking lark (apart from the brazil nuts last month) so am tying myself a bit with them.

banana87 · 21/03/2011 08:03

Hello all. Welcome to all the newbies. So sorry you find yourself here...loads of sticky vibes and baby dust coming your way!

Thinking of you today cep. Hope it's great news :)

I had a BFP on digital this morning, so I guess I have to admit it now. Eek. I will be on the phone right at 9am to my consultant. No symptoms other than boobs that are so sore I can't sleep on my front and really really tired, alot.

hopeful1 · 20/03/2011 22:25

thanks happy and melies

I will hopefully find out more on tuesday

happy1980 · 20/03/2011 21:03

Hello all, I would like to join too! I recently had a MC and it's nice to read some of the posts on here so I don't feel like I am the only person going through this! I find it really hard not to get fed up with the whole thing.

hopeful1 - my MC was at just past 5 weeks. I had blood tests on the Tuesday and the Thursday which showed I was MC and my Dr just told me to wait for a bleed to start and it came on the Sunday. It was just like a heavy AF. I'm sorry you are going through it too and I hope it gets sorted out quickly and you have a good Dr. I am on clomid too but because I have PCOS.

meliesmummy · 20/03/2011 20:16

hopeful, welcome. I'm not sure what happens in your situation to be honest, my loss was confirmed with a scan not bloods so I can't advise you sorry but I hope it all gets sorted quickly for you.

Best wishes Hadrian, I hope you get your bfp soon x

How are you Cep? All the very best for tomorrow, I've got everything crossed you come on here with good news in the morning x

hopeful1 · 20/03/2011 19:37

Hi All,

I am so pleased there is a place to come where people know just how I am feeling.

I was on the November bus but had some bloods done on Friday and my hcg is 45 at 5 weeks so they think i have had a mc. I have to go back for another blood test on Tuesday but I know its a formality.

I just wanted to ask what happens now, as have had no bleeding and it could take weeks and weeks if ever to come away nataurally and I just want to get on with trying again!

I have IUI (artificial insemination) with clomid due to a problem with my partner so really need an af to start it.

Can anyoine advise what they may suggest in this situation, will it be a D&C?

Congrats to everyone with a BFP!!

hadrian · 20/03/2011 18:44

Hi all,

Just a quick note to say that AF got me today and I'm feeling a bit low about it all so am just going to lurk for a while if that's OK. I think I need a break from obssessing about ttc and a bit of time focusing on some of the good things in life.

If anyone updates the list today can you move me to the bottom, CD1?

I very much hope that all the BFPs are sticky little beans and that everyone else gets their good news soon!

Minnie74 · 20/03/2011 17:37

Hi all
Just been catching up on the thread. Massive congrats to everyone with new BFP's.
How long did it take after your mc to get pregnant again? We're just starting our 4th cycle (not sure if thats the right word?)and really hoping its a lucky thread!

Also how do i add myself to the list and what do all the acronyms stand for in it? I understand some but not sure of others Confused xx

Rupsje · 20/03/2011 17:37

Welcome loup and littlemiss, and I am so sorry for your loss. I am new here as well (MMC diagnosed weeks ago) and waiting to TTC. I second the advice about getting a BFN first so you know exactly what is going on. Got a faint BFP on Friday so hoping that will disappear soon. Odd to be hoping for a BFN for a change.

meliesmummy I am pleased you had a nice weekend at the wedding.

I had a reasonably good day, although suddenly annoyed at my pregnacare vitamins box, which has a smiley pregnant lady on the front. Can't they put something more neutral on.... I am sure a lot of users are post-MC TTC-ers... Anyway, just a silly little rant... May just have to switch brands!

Love

meliesmummy · 20/03/2011 16:38

Hi loup, welcome. I started trying as soon as I had a bfn, I would second what Cep said about waiting for that. I didn't wait for af but I've had one since.

We're having fun with all mine and my sisters old playmobil that I dug out this morning Grin, bit annoyed though because i found an exact replica of the set I bought last week in the box, the packaging hasn't changed in 25 years! Glad it was only 2.99! I'll tell dd that the little girls are twins and the rabbits had babies!!!

sunchild77 · 20/03/2011 16:33

Hi - Most of yous don't know me, I was here for a while and then gave up and left... I just wanted to butt in to wish IzzyWizzy a MASSHOOSIVE HUGMUNGOUS CONGRATULATIONS! :)

I'm so so so happy for you babe :)

  • Also admitting to being a tad tearful when I read your post, you were so good to me and understanding. I wish you all the very very best, and a very happy and healthy 9 month... Lots of love...

Sorry for gushing!

(Still hoping for a bfp for myself sometime this year...)

Take care Mrs :D

cep · 20/03/2011 16:25

loup hi sweet, how you doing? when to start is completely up to you, once your bleeding has stopped and you're emotionally ready again. The best bit of advice is to make sure you get a BFN first, that way you know any bfp's are a new pg. I've attached 2 bits of reading for you. The GP's tend to advice waiting till after af mostly because of dating purposes.

www.pregnancyloss.info/waitingforaf.htm

mel so glad it went well and you enjoyed it. Shock at your smugness....Grin i'd have been exactly the same. Grin

Loup23 · 20/03/2011 16:08

Hi All, on Cep's recommendation I'm looking to join you guys after a recent m/c at 6 weeks. Bleeding started one week ago but my hcg levels on Thursday were already down to 68 so trying to see the positive and focus on trying again.

I haven't had a chance to look through the thread yet but can anyone help on when to start trying? My GP advised wait for the next "bleed" then for another AF after that which just seems so long (my normal cycles are 33 days). I feel emotionally and hopefully physically ok to try now, I have a clear blue fertility monitor so I am assuming that if my hcg is low the next peak I get should be beacuase im ovulating.....

Sorry for the me post, I see some people have got BFPs recently huge congratulations, hoping this is a lucky thread for us all x

meliesmummy · 20/03/2011 14:18

Hi all. Quiet few days here.

noodle enjoy the next few days then Wink

Glad your af is finally here shorty

What did you do yesterday in the end cep and Chloe? hope you got an early night in collie! Grin

Wedding was nice, we're on the way home from my parents now. The venue was just beautiful and they looked so happy (felt I could relate to the line about supporting each other through the hard times!) plus dd was as good as gold. Weird seeing my ex and friend together though, kind of reminded me of all his irritating faults and as we left he was being sick whilst she stood outside the toilet! I couldn't help feeling a bit snug...

cep · 19/03/2011 19:50

evening all,

littlemiss sorry to hear about your loss.

mel hope you're having a good night away.

shorty sorry you're feeling a bit low hon, am relieved for you that it's here though as you can now move on a bit, and know what's going on more.

hope everyone else is ok.

shorty100 · 19/03/2011 19:44

Hello everyone, been lurking for a while but not posted. Congrats to everyone with a bfp. Its been hard to keep up.

Welcome littlemiss, everyone is so lovely here. Sorry you have to be here though.

An update on me, I have had some spotting that is getting heavier so think af is here. I thought I would be happy to see it after such a long wait but I think I was convinced that it hadn't come because I was pregnant. Now feel empty again. I think i'm scared it will take another year for anything to happen and don't want to wait that long. X
