Hi all. Thanks again for all your advice ladies. I've done my head in today thinking about it. Here's Wine to hoping that it's not an issue. melies thanks for checking on me. I'm ok. Fed up of worrying about it especially when I don't know if there is anything to worry about. I think I'll see how my cycle pans out and if it doesn't look great I might make an apt with my gp in a week or two.
cep tbh I was a bit suprised they didn't ask me back but I was still in so much shock I think I wasn't thinking clearly as was just relieved for it to be 'over'.

Chloe sorry I was so wrapped up in myself today I didn't comment on your apt yesterday. Glad it went well and that you have a few more shots at clomid if you don't get your bfp this month. At least the clomid isn't quite so hellish now too. So, are you poas everyday now? 11dpo tomorrow-that's getting v close to a reliable test day!! Smile i'll be lurking tomorrow for an update!
Mumtum sorry you are low today. Hope you're feeling better now. Had a look at your chat but tbh I can't read it. It looks very stable to me and your still above your coverline. My understanding of ff I'd limited and I've not done my homework on the post ov phase yet. Are you WTF or cycle 1?

invincible so so sorry to read about your losses. You must be devastated. You sound like you ate coping well, but please be kind to yourself, you've been through a lot.

yrmotb if you're still lurking, CONGRATULATIONS!!! I've done my own lurking today! Grin what lovely news!!

I've been told just for blood tests to make sure my hcg levels are decreasing, they will decide what to do after that.

cep · 08/03/2011 18:26

Are they going to do another scan on Monday or just blood tests? Don't push yourself too much, am glad work is being good.

meliesmummy · 08/03/2011 18:21

welcome miss invincible, it sounds like you've had a rotten few months, I hope this thread brings you luck, we've had a few bfps recently.

all good signs banana.

How are you feeling about things now collie?

Just a quick stop, dd'll be back from swimming any minute and will expect her dinner to be on the table! I'm planning our nice evening that af forced me to postpone, nice dinner and wine then early night...bleedings stopped and given that I've got no idea really what's going on I think it'll be swi every other night this month! I'll start using opks on Friday (day7) I think.

MissInvincible · 08/03/2011 18:17

Thanks for the welcome.

cep they have basically said they will wait until I miscarry naturally as I did last time, as my hcg levels are very low. They suspect it is an ectopic pregnancy but cannot confirm as they couldn't see where it was on the scan, I am just praying that hcg is on its way down, 99 to 91 doesn't seem very much of a difference!

I've had yesterday and today off work, back tomorrow but just going to see how it goes. Work have been really good about it but I think I would drive myself crazy sitting around the house all day and prefer to keep busy. It is the waiting for things to happen that is the worst part!

cep · 08/03/2011 18:04

hi missinvincible welcome, again i'm sorry the blood test results weren't so good. weekly testing, that's so frustrating, What have they said in the mean time? Feel free to rant and stress as much as you need to. allow yourself time to grieve, are you off work?

Chloe55 · 08/03/2011 17:59

Oh I am sorry missinvincible Sad I understand your cncerns for being scared to try again. I have had 2 MCs and have up and down days as to whether I am strong enough to go through it again if the worst was to happen. I can't quite remember who posted it but someone mentioned some stats about probabilities of having recurrent MCs and when you get into the multiples the chances are very slim if that is any consolation to you. All the ladies on here are great and we will be here to hold your hand all the way.

banana87 · 08/03/2011 17:58

Hi ladies.

Trying to catch up but not sure I can!

oils A line is a line, why not try a digital in the morning? How many DPO are you?

Collie I hated temping, it never was clear for me. I also think that as some nights are colder than others it will have an impact on your temp.

Update from me: I now have sore nipples :) Have carried on SWI every 3 days MAX so hopefully I covered things. No sign of EWCM today but loads of creamy. Also my stomach lurched upon entering Starbucks today....and I have constant pubic bone pain.....but I could be imagining half of that.

MissInvincible · 08/03/2011 17:47

Hi ladies, I hope you don't mind me butting in, cep has kindly pointed me in the direction of this thread.

I'm currently awaiting my second consecutive mc, I had a scan yesterday at 6+ weeks that showed my uterus is empty, hcg levels were 99 on Saturday and 91 yesterday. Back to the EPU on Monday for more tests. My last pregnancy ended on Christmas Day, at 10 weeks, another pregnancy of unknown location . I had spotting off and on from around 5 weeks and 3 scans failed to find anything though my hcg levels rose to just above 1000. My hcg levels returned to normal (under 15) mid January and I conceived again at the beginning of February.

I am desperately wanting to try again but completely petrified at the same time. I thought we'd cracked it this time but obviously not. Just keeping my fingers crossed that this pregnancy resolves itself soon as I still feel pregnant and I'm taking it rather hard!

brooke89 · 08/03/2011 17:04

collie i have an underactive thyroid and my doctors have said that it shouldnt present any problems with ovulation...

my thyroid is really underactive aswell and i havent had any problems with ovulation in the past...

xx

cep · 08/03/2011 16:31

collie it might be worth having an early appointment and mentioning that problems with the thyroid runs in the family, see if they'll do any tests to rule it out while your temping for your next cycle. Am suprised they signed you off wihtout giving you an all clear scan.

meliesmummy · 08/03/2011 15:40

collie you are obviously really worried, it's certainly worth going to your gp, even if its just to put your mind at rest. Im sure they could refer you for a scan and some basic bloods without too much trouble. My friend who mc last year said that every time they said no to something she just cried, they soon changed their mind! Might be worth a go!!!

Collie2 · 08/03/2011 15:25

Also meant to say thyroid runs in our family. Mum had overactive, now under active and my nans sister has under active. This can also be a contributing factor to anovulation right?? I chatted to my mum about thyroid a couple of weeks back although and she didn't seem to think i was presenting any of the obvious symptoms so haven't really worried about it (think i am finding enough to worry about). Has anyone got any exp of thyroid?

OP posts:
Collie2 · 08/03/2011 14:48

Also meant to add YAY for olis i think you've had enough faint lines to get excited. Faint is still good!!!! Enjoy camping. xx

OP posts:
Collie2 · 08/03/2011 14:46

Glad you said I could leave them chloe I think they?ll make me less sad every time I go on, which is currently several times a day in the hope that it will all have miraculously changed and I?ll have a nice steady chart with a beautiful ovulation rise. But for now I?ll be taking those red lines with a pintch of salt.

YRMOTB thanks for posting. That?s interesting that you had a couple of anovulatory cycles after your mc. I understand that they are common every now and then in ?normal? women (would I said I was normal?? Smile ) I just find it hard to believe that it just so happens to be on the only 2 months I?ve been charting. But if its common for a few cycles post mc to be anovulatory then that explains it better. Can?t say I am thrilled, but it?s a more optimistic explanation than the alternative. yrmoft my mc was late dec (don?t apologise for not remembering there are so many of us on here). My ucl b4 mc was about 40days too, although my ?supposed? ovulation came a few days later than expected this month.

What you said about Angus Castus is interesting I have heard (well read on here) a few people mention it but I didn?t know what it was for and haven?t looked into it. Will Google it though as my charting really is all over the place, even on days where it should be steady and reliable.

melies tbh I didn?t really get any after care from the epu. I was told at my 12 wk scan that we?d lost the baby and i chose to go home and wait for a natural mc. They booked me in about 11 days later for a follow up scan but the 2 days prior to the appointment I mc. I went anyway and the scan showed most of it had passed although there where still some ?abnormalities?. But the discharged me anyway. No other information on anything else. I?ve not seen the gp or anything either. Should I have?

Melies yes the +ive opk and ewcm did come at the right time, but from what I read you can still have your LH surge, its just that no egg is released.

Here are 2 examples of links I found some of the info on first and second

Thanks for all of your kind replies ladies. It really does help to have someone to talk to and to have some support. I know (hope) I could even be worrying about nothing, and I could have actually ovulated, but I?m just not convinced at the moment. If I did ov would you expect to see a continued rise and if there is no continued rise and if it is up and down this is a clearer indication that I did not ovulate?

Its interesting that you have all had different views from GPs. Mine is usually a good practice so if I need to go they?ll hopefully be supportive.
I think I?ll definitely need to chart for another month to be able to go prepared, and also to be sure that its not just a post mc thing.

Sorry, for massive me me me post.

OP posts:
meliesmummy · 08/03/2011 13:55

Collie I know nothing about ff or temping sorry, but when you get a +ve opk is it at the 'right' time in your cycle? am I right in thinking that pcos leads lh surges all thru the cycle or no surge at all? When you had your mc did you have any scans? Bcos during every scan I've ever had, during my first pg, the one I had to rule out pco last dec and during my mc they've checked my ovaries, apparently it's routine, so they should have seen cysts then if there are any. I went to the gp after 6 months of tcc and got a scan referral bcos i'd had 2 really heavy, late periods in the autumn. I think that if you go to the gp and explain that you're ttc and you're concerned about your cycles they should listen. Dh went at the same time to have a sperm analysis, again, 6 months of ttc was enough for that (apparently it's cheap so they don't mind!)

olis I'm sorry things still aren't clear for you, I hope that the next few days give you some answers x

mouse how are you?

I know what you all mean about knowing who your friends are, I've really found that out over the last month. Some people have been great, a few others have really disappointed me tbh.

olismum23 · 08/03/2011 13:53

Just thought i would add ladies (car is running outside) i have 2 very very faint pound shop BFP'S too now starting to worry if i am seeing in lines!! anyhow really am away now have a good week see you all Sunday night!

Youremindmeofthebabe · 08/03/2011 13:31

collie Even in a "normal" woman(and I say that with a heavy heartSmile) it is possible to have one or 2 cycles per year which are anovulatory.

When was your mc- I am so sorry I can't remember. I had 2 cycles of 40 days which I suspect were anovulatory before I settled down again. I also have 35 day on average, cycles. Also, I did need 2 temping cycles for a clear pattern to emerge. Finally, I have found Agnus Castus to be brilliant at regulating my cycles, however you should research this yourself as tere is conflicting information out there. Hugs xx

cep · 08/03/2011 13:21

collie like chloe said definately tell them you'd been actively trying for a year. I was warned by my gp that the year would start again. (actually my gp said in our area it was 18 months) See what your gp says.

Chloe55 · 08/03/2011 13:15

Nah, leave themm they look pretty Grin

Coming off teh pill doesn't really count unless you dtd regularly which by the sounds of it you didn't, but if you want answers then bending the truth a little wouldn't hurt anyone.

I was concerned that the gp wouldn't put me on Clomid as I was meant to start it then I fell pg, however, once I decided to start TTC again I spoke to the specialist and he didn't question putting me on it. He even said it could be another couple of years before I fall pg again and he wouldn't want to be responsible for keeping me waiting.

Collie2 · 08/03/2011 13:08

Thanks cep and chloe would you say then that just not being on the pill ?counts? as ttc? i.e. from the perspective of the GP? Also, as i have been pg but mc, won't they then assume i can get pg and then want me to try again for 6-12months?? Which i suppose is great if all is ok, but shit if its not.

As you said chloe lots of people would have just ?fallen? pg by now, although having said that we did have a busy year last year ? a month in Japan sleeping in dorms so no dtd and then we spent the summer fixing up our kitchen on evening and weekends so the dtd was considerably less often due to being knackered. cep no need to be envious of stamina, it was very much an effort by the end of it. Should have had one last go yesterday but dh did his back on (not through swi I hasten to add). Was just determine to give us the best possible chance this month. Am hoping that my body isn?t going toe let me down.

I think I already know the answer to this but do I need to change my temp recording for this morning to the 1st and lower one??and lose my pretty crosshairs??? [Sad]

OP posts:
Chloe55 · 08/03/2011 12:49

collie you don't necessarily have to 'map' any cycles but need to be able to verbally express them. If you do see the gp then I would make it clear that you have been TTC for over a year before your MC (even if you weren't really) as, like you say, you would have thought that somewhere along the line with your lack of pill taking you would have fallen pg anyway. Gps don't tend to take things further until you have been TTC for at least 6mths but it is more like a 1yr. I didn't notice you had +ve OPKs too, so either you did ovulate or it might be something triggering a +ve.

Collie2 · 08/03/2011 12:37

No I haven?t had a conversation with my GP about my cycles chloe to be honest I came of the pill about a year ago but we weren?t actively trying so wasn?t really paying any attention to them. I only really mapped my cycle length the cycle before I got pg. When you made a comment about have lots of ?near misses? but never any accidents I did reply though saying that that struck a cord with me. Never been reliable at taking the pill, always sick with a hangover and never any accidents. DH has had a feeling we would struggle but then when I fell pg last year I just assumed all was ok. I think though that I have had some concerns myself which is why I am worrying so much about these bloody temperatures. I really also don?t think I had any ovulation last month as there was no pattern at all to my temps?although I know it was the wtf cycle.

I really hope I am worrying about nothing. You invest so much in ttc and swi, and if there is no egg its all bloody pointless. How long do you think you need to map your cycles for before seeing the GP. I know having a long cycle can be a sign of PCOS too, and waiting for another 2 or 3 cycles would be agony.

Agghhhh, GOD!! I am such a worrier. Sad
