This is the place to be for all those wanting to TTC after miscarriage, or have plans on TTC in the relatively near future. This thread is full of support from people who have been there and no how you are feeling so jump on board and share the Wine and chocolate (or water and celery for those of you off alcohol and caffeine Wink)

The thread moves fast so bob in and out as you please. Ask any questions that have been niggling you or that you are concerned about, perhaps someone here has experienced the same in the past.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

This is the old thread ref:

Stats to follow.

6 days since my m/c on 8th but my hormones must have been heading south before then they were only rising 40% every 48hrs they highest they got was 786 so it does not surprise me it happened so quick im the same as arti sad and happy at the same time its very odd..

cep · 14/02/2011 14:23

wow i took so long writing mine i missed a load. xposted with tokyo Blush looked fine from what i saw Grin

oli i think i can be, i think your blood can pool at the cervix. When you say that took 6 days do you mean since the mc or since the bleeding stopped?

Afternoon all,

welcome mel and tokyo so sorry for your losses. have added (i hope) 2 links which offer advice on af's and trying again.

www.pregnancyloss.info/trying_again.htm
www.pregnancyloss.info/waitingforaf.htm

collie so sorry you're on a low today. Valentines day can be a bit tough anyway i think. My dh "doesn't do romance" so i'm very Envy about your handbag. You will get there, are you at work today? if not maybe just hide away at home for the day. Have a takeaway and a bottle of wine and cuddle time with dh. Oh and i went to bed singing that blasted song. Grin

mel i had my second scan in epu there were pregnant women there (although only 1) who went in had good news came out waving her scan pic around to her mother. Soo not chuffed i'd been there back at 7 weeks and saw h/b i was told not to take scan out cause others had had bad news and i didn't. Happy birthday to your dd for weekend.

tokyo i second blackkat i think it can just gather at cervix.

yrmotb glad you're doing well.

blackkat hope next week goes as well as it can.

lily hi glad you're ok will do.

wellie So sorry about dh's grandma, where's she based?

chloe how are you doing today?

aandr mumtum, arti hils ninu baby everyone in common room hope you're all ok. Hello to everyone else so sorry if i've missed anyone.

If any details missed or incorrect below my apologies.

Hi olismum - have just written on our other thread about your bleeding but I'm sure other more knowledgable folks will be able to help. Thanks for the Brew!

Hello meliesmummy and Tokyo - sorry you find yourself here.

Still a BFP here but very very faint now so hopefully nearly gone, which makes me both Sad and Smile. Strange.

Hello to everyone else.

olismum23 · 14/02/2011 13:53

Got a BFN yesterday i think the reason is my hormones were so low and not doing what they should thus the m/c, so that took 6 days tested as the blood had stopped but this morning i got more when i wiped is this normal?

I am sorry the we have more joiners to the thread but i would like to say it has given me great strength since i came here hopw it does the same for all of you!

Heres a Brew to all who need one!

Tokyotwist · 14/02/2011 13:16

Hope I've done this right. Pls someone shout if I haven't.

Good afternoon, ladies. Sorry I haven't been around much lately - had to catch up on some work instead of being on MN. I'm another closet user as well!

Next time the stats are updated could someone add me in WTTC with TTC#1 EP Jan 10, MC May 10, UCL 25-?

Welcome to tokyo, mel and nina and anyone else that has just joined us.

Collie sorry to hear you're feeling down today,

Mouse that must be really frustrating, fx your levels fall quickly now.

YRMOTB good luck with the uni work, what are you studying?

Blackkat we will be thinking of you next week, hope it gives you the peace you need.

Chloe how's things this week?

Sorry if I've missed anyone, just on for 2 mins today x

wellieboots · 14/02/2011 12:41

Hello ladies, how are we all?

There is no chance of a BFP this month I don't think as we are too stressed and busy following the big move! To be honest I have resigned myself to a 2012 baby. But at least that takes the pressure off a bit.

To top it all off, DH's grandma died yesterday so it's all a bit even more stressful!

Hope everyone else is better than me, sorry for the me me me. Welcome mellies and tokyo - so sorry for your losses, tokyo I went through the whole finding out at the 12 week scan thing and it is horrible - all mc is horrible, but for me it was* the feeling of how can I not have known?! and just total shock.

Mouse sorry things are taking ages to move forward - it is horrible being in that limbo post ERPC. thinking of you xx

Waves to everyone else!!!

Collie2 · 14/02/2011 12:24

Cep you made me giggle too putting mumtum in the cupboard! Grin .. And I thought I was a closet mn'er!!

blackkat sorry your DH doesn't want to go to the cremation service, that's a difficult situation. Do you think he'll go anyway or can you go with someone else? I think if it's something you want to do you should as I think we need to be able to say our goodbyes and grieve. I was never offered a service, how far gone were you? When is it next week? X

Oh mouse how hard it must be having your family not know you must feel so lonely in it all. Sorry your still getting BFP!! Typical, the only time you don't want one and it won't feck off!!!

welcome to tokyo and melies so sorry for your losses.

How is everyone today? I'm a bit flat! The Valentines thing isn't helping. I don't know why, but just can't help but think I can't be arsed and what's the point. DH gave me a beautiful handbag today bcs he wanted to get me something special, which was lovely and made me cry, but the whole bloody day is just making me miserable. Made the mistake of looking at my friends FB page again (i'm an idiot) last night who is 3 weeks behind my dates and they are so happy it selfishly made me sad.

Sorry about my offload, chloe I think I am definately on your emotional bloody rollacoster!!! Helped to write it down though.

Think maybe watching the depressing film ' made in england' last night also didn't help!!! I've tried watching I am ledgend twice and had to turn it off so really should have known better!! Def need a pick me up film tonight!!

How are you chloe by the way? Has AF eased? Have you got another Counselling session this week?

sorry I've not done a proper shout out to all, will try again later.

Xx

Blackkat · 14/02/2011 12:00

Welcome tokyo so sorry to hear about your loss Sad, it's so heartbreaking to find out at the 12 week scan isn't it, I know a number of us on this thread have been through that ((hugs)). The pregnancy hormone thing is just so unfair isn't it? I was sick on my scan day too Sad [frustrated emoticon]. Hope they settle down for you soon.

I'm not sure about the bleed - I know that blood and tissue can gather at the cervix and then eventually be released. My EPU nurse also told me that the cervix is very tender with lots of blood near the surface of the skin,( yes had worked that out!!) so any strain, bruise, knock (think about the ERPC) can release fresh blood.

If the bleed has stopped and you are feeling ok,(no feverish, fluey symptoms) then I'd expect that your bleed has stopped. My bleeding stopped 1 week after EPRC, but I know others have bled for a lot longer.

Stats are further down the thread - Cep updated yesterday, if you want to add yourself then cut and paste and add +1 day to the CD for those on TTC, you could update for Monday! Grin because I'm to chicken to do it!
There's also a section for WTTC for those who are waiting for AF post m/c.

Tokyotwist · 14/02/2011 11:18

Hi,

Finally dragged up the courage to come on here or should I say admit to myself that I want to try again.

I had an EPRC 10 days ago. We found out at our 12 week scan that our baby died at 8 weeks. I had no warning and was even being sick on the morning of the EPRC.

Pregnancy hormones are still high (had a pos preg test Friday), but no bleeding, except on one occassion last week.

Actually I've a question about that (sorry it's a bit graphic). I was straining on the loo and had what I can only describe as a flush of fairly fresh looking blood. Only the once, but it made me wonder if I've been collecting blood and the straining somehow opened up my cervix to let it out. Is this possible and if it is, will I eventually start bleeding again or will my body just absorb what's in there?

Oh and is there a separate thread for stats?

Blackkat · 14/02/2011 11:02

Oh Mouse ((big hugs)) what a crappy start to the week. I know exactly what you mean about fcam Grin (word still makes me laugh).

Hope things improve for you and artifarti this week.

DH has a long service medal from November (had stupidly read in Zita that if you had problems TTC you should give baby best chance by not DTD until 12 weeks- 12 weeks up, m/c and I've been bleeding or grumpy ever since, I can see the funny side of that he can't! (well kind of))

Welcome meliesmum so sorry for your loss Sad, you'll find lots of support here.
Happy Birthday to DD for the weekend though!

Hoping your EPU follow up scan is like mine -I went for a follow up scan and they do them after all the pregnant ladies have gone so FX for you that's the treatment for you.

sorry if I've missed anyone.

FX for all the SMEP(g)ers, waiting for an experiment update from ProfA&R! Grin

youremindmeofthebabe · 14/02/2011 09:24

mouse sorry you're still bleeding. I bled for 3 weeks after erpc and didn't get a neg test til those three weeks were up. Hope you're ok and that work has been understanding.

Waves to all, hope you're all well. I have uni work on and am super busy ATM, so trying to keep my mind offthe fact I should be ovulating! Sorry to see more new people, I hope your stays are short and you've got all the support you need around you.

meliesmummy · 14/02/2011 09:23

Hi, can join in?
I'm just getting over a mmc at 11 weeks (baby stopped growing at 8) that I had medically managed (not pretty!). I've already got a beautiful 3 year old (well she'll be 3 on sat) and took 8 months and a chemical preg to conceive the baby we lost.
I'm hoping to test in 2 weeks and if it's neg start again...I'm also having a scan (in epu - how cruddy is that?) in 2 weeks to check everythings complete.
I want to look at this in as positive a way as I can - that it wasn't our time and it'll get better, that my little girl will get the sibling she keeps asking for.
Thanks for reading

artifarti · 14/02/2011 09:07

Hello everyone, hope you all had a nice weekend.

Haven't had time to catch up properly but just wanted to say, mousebacon, I am exactly where you are. 17 days post ERPC. Still tested positive last Thursday; will try again later (if our builders aren't lurking about quite so much!) and will let you know. Sooo frustrating, isn't it? We are not TTC this month either but can't wait for things to be back to normal so we can move on and try again.

cep · 14/02/2011 08:55

mouse sorry is still positive. which tests are you using, cb whilst more expensive (still 7.45 for 2 on amazon) show how many weeks so should be able to indicate the hormone levels going down. e.g 3-4 weeks then 2-3 etc.

mousebacon · 14/02/2011 07:19

Still testing positive... [frustrated]

cep · 13/02/2011 23:46

mumtum glad i could make you laugh. Grin

mouse hon sorry it's been so shit for you.

ninu i was automatically signed in for another scan to check everything had cleared, if you're concerned about it maybe ask your gp or the epu unit.

night all.

mousebacon · 13/02/2011 23:16

Thank you my love, I appreciate that Smile

right, time for bed. Nighty night x

Ninunina · 13/02/2011 23:00

that's a long time for you to be going through this. It must be very difficult. I hope it all ends soon so you can get back to DTD.

You deserve a medal too!

mousebacon · 13/02/2011 22:54

I have to say, I do feel sorry for DH as we haven't DTD since December! I thought it was the cause of the spotting. Bless him I've either been pg or bleeding since august!

mousebacon · 13/02/2011 22:52

Today is 17 days post erpc. I'd mc naturally back in oct (then had erpc for retained products) so the bleeding all happened over that one awful weekend.

No follow ups planned - I really don't want another fanjo cam I find them v uncomfortable

I think I'll poas tomorrow and see if it's neg yet. We're not going to ttc this cycle so I just want to fast forward the next few weeks!

Ninunina · 13/02/2011 22:24

Mouse so sorry you're still bleeding. How long has it been?

I went to the hairdresser today, and somehow ended up talking about m/c. Turns out that she had one a few months ago, and didn't get AF back for 12 weeks and later discovered it was because she had some retained fetal tissue.

I don't think I could cope waiting so long for things to return.

I'm on day 7 of bleeding, but things seem to be calming down. Can't wait for this to be over.

Blackkat · 13/02/2011 22:03

Mouse so sorry to hear that you are still bleeding, that's total shite. ((big hugs)) I really hope it all stops soon. Do you have a follow scan/check up up at EPU?

I know what you mean about 2011 - I'm resigned to 2012 (all being well) already. [pissed off with waiting emoticon]

olismum glad the thread has been useful and mumtum I can't shake that image of you in the cupboard tapping away at the keyboard! Grin
