This is the place to be for all those wanting to TTC after miscarriage, or have plans on TTC in the relatively near future. This thread is full of support from people who have been there and no how you are feeling so jump on board and share the Wine and chocolate (or water and celery for those of you off alcohol and caffeine Wink)

The thread moves fast so bob in and out as you please. Ask any questions that have been niggling you or that you are concerned about, perhaps someone here has experienced the same in the past.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

This is the old thread ref:

chloe enjoy your pamper day, sounds lovely and much needed.

banana welcome, sorry for your losses. Everyone here is lovely so feel free to rant away and ask anything x

meliesmummy · 18/02/2011 10:33

Congratulations AandR ! You are the first bfp since I joined, it's lovely to see that it does happen!

Can you update my stats please? I'm ttc no 2 after a mc this month, thank you

cep · 18/02/2011 10:16

Hi all, work didn't last long i just burst into tears and they sent me home. Blush

lily collie am waiting for dr to call me back. It's called Bacterial Vaginosis, it's basically an overgrowth of various bacteria down there. I will hasten to say NOTHING to do with cleanliness. In fact over washing it can make it more likely to develop and apparently it's really common. (can you tell i'm slightly embarrassed by it.) I just can't believe she didn't think it through knowing we're ttc. Either she wasn't aware of it, or was just too rushed (being 45 mins late) to connect it in her head.

banana welcome and i'm so sorry for your losses. do you want to be added to the stats list?? If so do you know what yours are?

chloe ooh lucky you have a fantastic day.

Collie2 · 18/02/2011 10:02

backkat OMG what a tosser!!! You really sound like you handled it well and held your own!

AandR that's FANTASTIC news.... Glad to hear SMEP worked!!! How's the experiment looking so far? Good luck, hope it sticks too.

CEO I'm so sorry your feeling low, it's always nice to pop on and have some of your positivity rub off. What did the GP say you had? I'm sorry I don't know much about AB and pg.... Will google, but if there's something you want be persistant Or maybe see another gp?

lily06 · 18/02/2011 10:01

Welcome to the madhouse, Banana. Sorry for your losses. The ladies here are lovely, and very supportive. Smile

banana87 · 18/02/2011 09:59

Can I join? AF just finished so officially TTC after 2 recent miscarriages.

Blackkat · 18/02/2011 09:35

Brilliant news, congrats A&R x

Chloe55 · 18/02/2011 09:11

Off for my much much needed pamper day at my bf salon in prep for my birthday but had to pop on to see any A&R news and sure as hell it's there!!

GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Am so pleased for you, I must ahve known it was coming because I don't often come on especially to check Wink

Back later ladies!

lily06 · 18/02/2011 08:30

Blackkat I'm sorry you had to deal with that yesterday, hope he feels suitably ashamed of himself and gets what he deserves.

Tokyo what rotten luck, hope you and DD are both ok.

Chloe how was the dentist? I hate going, haven't been for about 2 years now..... Blush

Nina good luck, glad you feel ready. I had never done any temping before, but FF makes it quite easy and I'm finding it interesting. Might be worth a go. No idea about OPK, never used them.

Hills well done on the cutting down, wish I could say the same!

Maybe sorry it was a BFN, but as Cep says, give it a few days and you never know >

Collie how are you managing with all the supplements?

maybebabyR · 18/02/2011 08:29

Congrats AandR, so pleased for you Grin

Sorry you're feeling low today cep, and you are totally right about leaving it! HPK should come with a warning (owing to how addictive they are Smile)

lily06 · 18/02/2011 08:22

Big congrats AandR Smile

Cep you poor thing. If its what I think you mean, then go back and see your GP again. I've just done a bit of reading and there are safe antibiotics to take while you are pregnant (or TTC) that do cure it. They tested me as routine after my MC and luckily it came back clear, but I remembered them talking about antibiotic choice. If I'm on the wrong track entirely just ignore me Smile Hope you are feeling ok.

Mamapower · 18/02/2011 07:54

Congratulations AR Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

nickstermum · 18/02/2011 07:37

AR Whhooooop! Just knew it Grin

cep · 18/02/2011 07:23

hooray aandr that's fanastic news congratulations.

cep · 18/02/2011 07:22

Morning all,

maybe what happened to leaving it a few days??? Grin don't forget it could still be a bit early. i'm not trying to get your hopes up but i'd leave it till cd 28 or 29 (if af doesn't start)

tokyo poor dd, been through the mill lately, hope she's better soon.

ninu sorry i don't know about the wtf cycle as dh insisted on waiting.

I'm feeling a bit low today, not to sure i've lost all the positivity i had the other day. My dr told me she reckons i've got something, which when i read the bumf she gave me stated that can cause problems in pregnancy and can cause miscarriage. (online it said it could cause infertility, bloody dr google) She knows we're ttc, and said she didn't want to give antibi's because i'm in my 2 ww. But when i read the info it said pregnant women should be put on antibiotics, so now i'm anxious that this could have caused the mc. and if the dr won't give antibi's it could do it again (if i ever get pg again anyway.)

AandRMum · 18/02/2011 07:12

it is a BFP - feeling all rather nervous about it!! Hope it sticks

maybebabyR · 17/02/2011 21:44

POAS UPDATE: BFN, but then I knew it would be Sad

Tokyotwist · 17/02/2011 21:33

Well done Blackat, sorry you had such a tough day. He does sound like a total idiot and a bit of a coward. He should just have admitted he was an arse and done some major grovelling.

I've had to stay home today as dd has (whispers) the wrigglies (first time ever). Apart from being totally grossed out, I'm coping quite well. That is after scrubbing every where and buying copious amounts of antibac handwash. The poor thing has only just got over a nasty virus that left her with sores in her mouth.

Seriously I am going to have words with the big guy up there if anything else goes wrong.

MumTumWanted · 17/02/2011 20:49

oh my god blackkat he really is a FW !! but well done you for the way you handled it very proud

ninunina sorry no idea on the actualy cycles et when you are at the WTF stage but hopefully SWI every other day will get you there in the end Wink

back to surruptious posting cos OH in the room so will be bobbin in and out tonight possibly only lurking !

have a good evening ladies

Ninunina · 17/02/2011 20:13

Evening ladies

Blackkat Well done in confronting the FW. Sounds like he'll always be a FW no matter waht you tell him, but I think you've dealt with it in an admirable way.

AandR Any news?

Right...I've decided, I'm not going to wait for my first AF. I feel like my body has recovered, and I'm doing well emotionally. Now all I need to do is figure out my cycle. I read that OPK are useless in the first month- is this true? I've never bothered with temping and checking CM before- does anyone know if this is effective on your first cycle (I think I remember reading that this could be all over the place too).

In the past I just downloaded a fertililty ap onto my phone to keep track of AF and it seemed to work (except for once when I had a long cycle). Maybe I should just SWI every two days to make sure :)

Hils74 · 17/02/2011 20:04

well done blackcat I don't know what I would have done. Work has been better the last few days, just can't wait for the weekend!

I've tried to cut down on the Wine and Brew, not sure if it'll help or not.

Have been SWI every other day since Fri so not sure if I'll have a 2ww or just test in a month or so...

cep · 17/02/2011 19:08

lili you may only get ewcm for 1-5 days. a sign it's coming is for it to go creamy and then watery. Have a look at the links below regarding cm haven't read the first as just found it.

just found this

helpful i found

LILI80 · 17/02/2011 18:53

blackkat Well done on challenging the dick head! You should be proud of yourself I think you dealt with that brilliantly!

collie v.impressed at the whole cutting down Wine & Brew and going to the gym! Can you come round and confiscate my Wine!

I am now on cm watch! Smile. Although I'm supposed to be doing the smeg i'm not temping or doing the ov sticks, so I've decided to look out for the ewcm.

I have to say it seems to be fairly 'dry' on the cm front (sorry tmi!)so just going to go with dtd every other day for now!

cep · 17/02/2011 18:23

oh blackkat hon. i'm so sorry the guy was such a tosser. Agree that's bollocks, being told someone had an mc is not something you'd then go on and tell everyone else. hope your boss does something, because if fw was told confidential then he has every right to do something.
