This is the place to be for all those wanting to TTC after miscarriage, or have plans on TTC in the relatively near future. This thread is full of support from people who have been there and no how you are feeling so jump on board and share the Wine and chocolate (or water and celery for those of you off alcohol and caffeine Wink)

The thread moves fast so bob in and out as you please. Ask any questions that have been niggling you or that you are concerned about, perhaps someone here has experienced the same in the past.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

This is the old thread ref:

oh fx for tomorrow mel

meliesmummy · 27/02/2011 15:20

Hello, hope you are all having a nice sunday. I'm banished to the kitchen on my own bcos dds asleep and dh is in the living room answering research questions (we are taking part in a long term research project called changing society, it basically involves a lady coming to our house once a year and asking loads of questions about our finances, work, wellbeing, political views etc for a government funded project. We get paid in high st vouchers and have to do it separately).

I know what you all mean about tcc bring expensive, I'd hate to think how much I've spent on vits and opks in the last 9 months, not to mention underwear to keep dtd interesting! I've used the wilkinson opks LILI but I find the tesco ones better bcos you get 7 so more opportunities to use them and I found they were more sensitive - the wilko ones line didn't go as dark, I know I ovulated that month bcos I got pg! Still better than forking out for fr / cb tho, and they gave me an idea.

cep I'm glad all seems to be well with you.

mouse I'm off for a fanjocam (my phone tried to change that to cannibal heehee!) in the morning, I've never heard it called that, but your name for it made me smile, let's hope I don't accidentally call it that whilst I'm there!

cep · 27/02/2011 14:42

ninu just imagine how much they rake in every year. scary thought isn't it.

I hope so i'm just putting a bad slant on every ache at the moment.

It is raining really heavily here today such a shame as was glorious this morning.

Ninunina · 27/02/2011 14:07

I was going to say the same thing as A&R...I think it sounds like implantation bleeding cep. Glad it's gone this morning.

I'm new to the OPK too lili, tried my first yesterday. I think you are meant to use them everyday until you get a +ve. I've read that they don't work for everyone . I've got 10 cheapies from ebay, but I don't think I'll buy them again. SWI as often as possible will give you the result you need without spending a fortune....plus its way more fun.

I honestly never realised that TTC / pregnancy is such a lucrative business. I think I've spent well over £100 on tests, vitamins etc...I guess its a sign of the expense that's in store for us once a little one comes along.

AandRMum · 27/02/2011 13:37

CEP that sounds like implantation bleeding. Wanted to say once again just how pleased I am for you and your BFP!!!

cep · 27/02/2011 13:32

lili it tends to be recommended to test opk every day in the afternoon, cause the surge isn't supposed to show until then. i never knew when to expect mine so pretty much tested every day from 2 days after af stopped. (and still never got a positive). yay for the energy Grin you can get a load of cheapy ones on ebay.

such as these

LILI80 · 27/02/2011 13:07

cep ahh bless - I feel nervous for you! but I'm sending all my positive thoughts your way and this is going to be the one that goes well Smile

blackkat Glad the service went well and you got to say goodbye

I went and bought some ov sticks from Wilkos yesterday. £2.80 for 5 is that good? Anyway took a test yesterday and it was negative so do I keep taking them each day?

According to MN ov predicter on my first cycle bleed I should have been ov around 24th to 28th feb or if I go back by 2nd bleed I'll be ov around 7 March to 11 March.

Just to be on the safe side I've been swi everyday since Thursday! Blush

How's everyone else doing?

ninu that comes from spending all day on the computer and googling everything. i even googled itchy eyes and pregnancy before i got my bfp cause my eyes were so itchy the day before. Grin

i'm not too bad blackkat had a silly panic last night cause i went to loo and got a streak of blood on 2 wipes, so ofcourse that was it i was thinking it was a chemical pg. Blush nothing on st or wipe this morning. so am back to just being paranoid about every "wet" (sorry tmi) feeling down there.

Hope everyone is ok today.

Ninunina · 26/02/2011 22:17

The fountain of knowlege strikes again. Cep where do you find all these web pages? You seem to have a page that answers everyone's questions.

Oli that sounds promising...better get down to DTD tonight Grin

Blackkat well done for getting through this month. I'm sure it hasn't been easy for you and DH. I hope AF will be back soon (just this once).

Blackkat · 26/02/2011 21:38

Olis sorry can't be much help, but my WTF cycle sounds similar. I'm trying not to stress about it and just wait for sth that looks like a normal period.

mouse FFS -bloody hormones, poor you. Really hope date with fanjocam brings some good news. Will be thinking of you next week, Weds and Thurs right? X

ninu I m/c mid Jan, but had to have emergency ERPC at end of Jan. hosp do one joint service at end of each month and I just missed the Jan one, hence Feb date - feels like it's being going on forever, and still no sodding AF!
Thanks for yummy brownies.

cep hoping all still ok

cep · 26/02/2011 21:14

evening all, just a quick visit as i really need to sleep.

layla not to bad thankyou. Smile

ninu just really tired in the evenings and getting hot flushes. i drank all the juices up till ovulated, then ate the brazil nuts. Can't actually remember what the pom juice was for i'll see if i can find it again and relink.

mouse good luck for thursday hon, hope it gives you the answer you need.

mousebacon · 26/02/2011 19:07

So pleased it went ok blackkat how very sad for that man to be on his own Sad it sounds like your dh was a sweetheart Smile

As for me, I'm back at the hospital on Thursday for another fanjo cam because my hcg levels came back at 286. Grr. Just want it to be sorted now so we can move on and try again (although the mood dh is in I might kill him tonight!)

Ninunina · 26/02/2011 19:07

blackkat glad the servie provided you with some peace, and will help you move on. How long ago was it that you mc?

cep 1st hurdle day is almost over. Are you feeling any symptoms yet? What movie did you watch?

tokyo hope your dd is feeling better. I used to suffer with my tonsils as a teen. Probably the sickest I've ever been. Hopefully she'll recover quickly.

mellie Envy at your nice sunny day. At least it stopped raining here so managed to go out for a soggy walk.

hadrian I'm sure time will help you be around your friend, and feel happiness for her.

bannana yay for EWCM!

I've only just started taking note of mine...and I think its watery, so hopefully will have EW tomorrow. Also did an ovulation test for the first time where the test line was more faint then the control line. Am I right in thinking that that is a negative? Its an internet cheapy so intructions aren't the clearest.

Thanks for the link cep, I went to the supermarket and bought some baby asprin, brazil nuts, grapefruit juice & pineapple juice. I remember reading something about pommegranite juice..what's that for again? I bought it anyway Grin

Feeling rather OTT now!!!

laylasmummy09 · 26/02/2011 18:59

hi every one, this thread really does move fast doesn't it,
welcome iggly I'm sorry you have found yourself here but i hope we can help,
blackkat im glad the service helped you and oh, i didnt go when i was offered the oppertunity and i do feel like our babies have been abandoned,
cep i hope things are going okay today for you
melie i know what you mean about the 2nd pregnancy thing, ive lost my 2nd and 3rd but i just assumed id be fine as id had 1 dc, i do agree though that most mumsnetters probably have a dc wich prompted them to join in the first place,
hello everyone else, i hope youve all had a fairly peaceful saturday x

cep · 26/02/2011 18:45

banana yay for ewcm, now get off here and get bizzzay. Wink

mel he actually wasn't as bad as i thought he was going to be, but thankfully it wasn't too busy in there, we had a couple of i need a weewee. (dh took him but apparently he didn't do anything, within 5 mins of coming back in ds was pulling trousers and pants down....yes right infront of my seat, quick pull up of clothes and mad dash to loo.) only thing we didn't take enough money so didn't get enough sweets to keep him still.

blackkat oh so pleased it went well. that poor man being on his own. How nice for the dh to arrange for a hotel what a lovely gesture. I'm glad it's made you feel a bit better.

I'm ok, thankfully af didn't start (or at least not yet) so doing ok so far. Grin

meliesmummy · 26/02/2011 17:50

blackout I'm glad that the service went well and provided you with some relief x

LILI I meant to say thanks for what you said before about saving the best till last, that's a nice way of thinking.

Blackkat · 26/02/2011 16:21

Hello everyone - welcome to iggly so sorry to hear your story, I hope this thread provides you with support!

Melies I hope your family weekend cheers you up sounds like you need it. ((big hugs)) to you and to tokyo sounds like you are both having a tough time.

banana YAY for the EWCM!! Grin

Cep hoping all going ok for you?

lili glad doc was supportive, exactly what you need Smile

Hadrian, Collie know just what you mean about pregnant people surrounding you - I think really I just notice it more bcs I'm so desperate to have my own SadEnvy

mouse any word on the bloods? do hope all is ok for you, I've been thinking of you xx

Ninu shame about the weather, we've had some sun today oop north. I second you re the m/c stats, you are more likely to m/c with first, and guess it's just bcs most people here (not me!) Blush to be outted do have DC.

Thanks for asking collie Cep, we've actually just got home. DH had arranged for us to go to a nice hotel last night after the service and have dinner and then we went on a long walk in the country today.

The service was short and sweet there were 3 other couples there, and very sadly indeed, one chap all alone. I really felt for them all but particularly for him Sad. I hoped his wife/partner was ok.

The priest was lovely and mentioned all our babies during her prayers. DH admitted that going had really helped him feel like we've said goodbye properly. I feel like I've not abandoned my baby, which I had been feeling like. Sad Thanks again ladies for your support xx

to everyone else

banana87 · 26/02/2011 15:06

EWCM here!!! Very exciting esp as we have SWI the last 3 days!

meliesmummy · 26/02/2011 14:07

How are things looking today Cep? My dd loves the cinema, we went to tangled last week and saw a trailer for Winnie the pooh and now she keeps asking to go and see that! I think it's as much about the popcorn as the film for her tho! (she gets that from me!)

I'm sorry to hear that the weather in london is awful, we've had it in Swansea all week but today the suns out so we took dd out to a farm centre and then pub lunch on the way home, it was a nice morning.

Hope you all have nice weekends x

cep · 26/02/2011 13:20

hi all, have just got back from my first cinema experience with ds. actually wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. ds wasn't to bad, started getting bored nearish the end, wuld have been ok if we'd had more sweeties.

ninu i found this you'veprobably seen it before though. baby aspirin

collie we had a bad night with ds awake from 3:30 on and off. Sad sooo tired.

Ninunina · 26/02/2011 12:42

It's quiet in here today....where is everyone? It's awful weather in London today, and I'm stumped as to what to do...don't really fancy getting wet.

Does anyone have any advice about taking Baby Asprin? Would it be silly of me to take it post ov if it hasn't been prescribed by GP? I'm usually like everything to be as natural and organic as possible. I don't take painkillers unless I'm in agony and try to take natural vits & minerals rather than supplements, except for Folic Acid...but I will do anything to have a sticky bean next time round.

Has anyone researched this?
