This is the place to be for all those wanting to TTC after miscarriage, or have plans on TTC in the relatively near future. This thread is full of support from people who have been there and no how you are feeling so jump on board and share the Wine and chocolate (or water and celery for those of you off alcohol and caffeine Wink)

The thread moves fast so bob in and out as you please. Ask any questions that have been niggling you or that you are concerned about, perhaps someone here has experienced the same in the past.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

This is the old thread ref:

Stats to follow.

melies also meant to say glad first night back went ok. Sorry about the pg colleague. I had the same thing on my first day back. Well done for getting through it. Xx

Collie2 · 01/03/2011 08:47

cep YAY i have EWCM... Well it's a bit I'd a mix between EW and creamy and a-ive opk this morn but hopefully it means ov is on it's way!!! Your intructions helpped tremedously! So did the pictures as I knew what I was feeling for and the position of everything! Thanks!

wellie lovely to hear from you. Glad your trip to nz and wedding went well. You were not effected by the quake I hope? Did you get to see much of NZ? It's an beautiful country isn't it! Sorry the ttc gas not gone to plan, but hopefully once your AF comes you can try again now you are settled.

chloe ohh your poor DS. Glad he is ok though and that you had super time. You sound really positive and that's lovely to hear. Fx we can both jump on the November bus!!! X

meliesmummy · 01/03/2011 08:35

Happy St David's Day!

Chloe hope your ds's lump goes down soon! Its a shame that happened whilst you were away but glad it didn't ruin your plans completely! Wink

cep I'm glad to help, I hope it made you feel a bit better x

I'm off to bed for a few hours whilst dd is in nursery, work was ok, not too busy and it was nice to catch up on some gossip (even if that did mean hearing all about the pg lady with what was my edd :(

Good night x

Chloe55 · 01/03/2011 08:23

Morning ladies,

Butlins was fab apart from ds falling off a sofa on sat night and us spending 4 hours in a&e Shock He is fine now but was conscussed after the event and has a lump the size of a golf ball on the back of his head!

On a brighter note, my body appears to be running like clockwork this month Hmm That very faint line I was wondering asbout before I left on thurs must have been accurate as it progressively got stronger before fading away again on sunday. Oh and on sat I had horrendous ovary pains so we dtd (albeit very military and non-romantic) despite the a&e trip and feeling like someone was stabbing the hell out of my side where my ovary is! So I am feeling more hopeful that this month I actually know I did ovulate and the fact that we have def swi at the right times! Am now on with eating 5 brazil nuts a day to encourage it to really happen. Oh, and have cut out caffeine too so I am deadly serious this month and will be taking no prisoners Grin

Will be back later for full catch up

morning all,

collie did it help you find it?

wellie glad to see you and your family were ok in nz. were you there when the earthquake struck?

mel my angel, thankyou for checking again. it is relief to know that.

blackkat are you feeling better this morning?

hope everyone else is ok.

wellieboots · 01/03/2011 06:47

Apologies for the lack of posts recently - I've been in New Zealand for DB's wedding and got back Sun.

HUGE congrats to cep hills velvet mummya and AandR - what a run we're having at the moment! Hope you are all dong OK and not stressing too much, lots of (((hugs))) to all of you!

I am waiting for AF, can feel her on her way, but it's annoying that I think my body clock has just got totally confused with all the stress of moving and the change of timezone, this was meant to be the first month of TTC for us but it didn't end up happening due to moving and various family dramas once we got here, so the words snowballs and hell come to mind when thinking of a BFP!

(((waves)))

meliesmummy · 01/03/2011 04:58

cep a few more reassuring facts for you - I looked up your antibiotic in the book we have here of drugs and pregnancy - and it quoted a study on the clindomycin in early preg and found NO link between it and any adverse effects, that included the iv and oral preparations and the cream and the cream would be the least absorbed so worry not!

hadrian · 28/02/2011 23:48

Hello all, a quick note to say a massive congrats to hils! What wonderful news, it all happens on this thread doesn't it? Oh please let it be me some day soon!

collie we are following the SMEG plan religiously so far and my DH is loving it too! Long may it last.

yrmotb I'm really sorry to hear the witch got you. Fx that this cycle is the one for you

Collie2 · 28/02/2011 22:34

blackkat sorry you're having a crap night. I can totally sympathise. I dread getting announcements especially from close friends. But it is nice that she called, I've read many horror stories on these threads of people being told on nights out. Being Envy and Sad is natural. But you're being very graceful at the same time. Xx

bananna sorry your DH won't swi. It is hard when your tired. I've not slept well for days and it was truely the last thing I wanted to do tonight, which does really kill the mood, and I don't really have to do the 'work'
as lili said though, those swimmers can last a few days so you never know. Fx

cep thanks for the cm and cervix intructions! Grin at you going checking!! Made me giggle! Bless you. Will have another go b4 bed. Those pics are graphic alright!!! What was she thinking? is it wrong that I want a fanjo cam????

LILI80 · 28/02/2011 22:05

blackkat sorry to hear about you having a crap day for you chick.

banana for you too. If you've swi near the time though there's a chance the little swimmers could be hanging around waiting for their chance.

cep thanks for the cervix lesson. I'm off to give it a try as when I've been testing for mucus I've never actually stuck my fingers all the way up there Blush I've just been ferreting around just inside [sorry tmi] Smile

Have a good evening

cep · 28/02/2011 22:02

lili i shouted it so loud 2 other kids stopped what they were doing. Grin

cep · 28/02/2011 22:00

banana so sorry he's being awkward. i know exactly how you feel, it is really frustrating when they won't/can't dtd. I will say though that according to the pregnancy calendar i concieved the day after i ov'd which was supposed to be unlikely. is it too late to start getting him drunk??? Smile

LILI80 · 28/02/2011 21:55

Oh my goodness I go away for a few hours and another BFP!! Big CONGRATS Hils!!! Keep it coming ladies Grin

Melis Glad it all went well so get on with the SWI lady Smile

cep Snap! I took my DD to indoor playarea today as weather was rubbish and cold! It made me smile when you said you shouted 'oi' at another kid as I did exactly the same thing once when a boy trampled over my DD and then tried to pull her hair!! It's the lioness coming out and protecting your cub Smile

blackkat Yes I am! Though DH isn't complaining in fact he seems well up for it Wink How are you getting on?

Blackkat · 28/02/2011 21:51

Shit sorry banana Xpost sorry to hear you're having a crap evening too Sad

Blackkat · 28/02/2011 21:50

Thanks cep you're right, and I managed to say all the nice things and acknowledge that it must've been tough for her to call, and thank her for thinking of me [rueful smile].

Just feel awful for being Envy and also rubbish bcs I'm still TTC Sad(well will be if AF ever bloody well turns up)

Right , maybe will have some good news soon hopeful Smile

Thanks Cep x

banana87 · 28/02/2011 21:47

ARGH! Stupid fecking DH. Have tried to SWI but he is having none of it saying he's not 'in the mood'. With DD coming in around 5am the past 2 nights, I can't see how we are going to be successful this month :( EWCM started Fri night and last SWI was Sat am. Oh well. :(

Sorry for me me me, just can't see how someone who really wants another baby won't SWI...

cep · 28/02/2011 21:44

oh blackkat i'm sorry you're feeling low now. It is really difficult, and pg women seem to be everywhere. i have to admit for the first few weeks after my mc i had to walk out of a shop if i saw pg women, i know of a couple of times where i left dh to get shopping cause i couldn't deal with seeing them in tesco's. i hope you're ok.

in an odd way it was nice for her to phone to make sure you got the news personally rather than via the grapevine. She obviously cares for you very much. Smile

cep · 28/02/2011 21:35

mel how are you doing on your first day night back hon? are you ok?? no i didn't have c-section, i probably was like this last time just can't remember. Grin

i saw the little brat a bit later on with his mum, they were looking round i think she'd asked him to show her who it was who'd told him off. she didn't come up to me though. i half hoped she would so i could tell her exactly why i shouted at him. poor ds had a big red cheek for ages afterwards.

Blackkat · 28/02/2011 21:31

collie the US thing must be tough, and so Sad that you had to be alone after the m/c

Sad bcs a friend just called to "see how I was" and then ended the conversation, with the dreaded, "oh, and I've got some news...etc, etc, etc" feeling all Envy and Angry now...rubbish

cep · 28/02/2011 21:31

ok collie just had a go so i could remember exactly what i did. (thankfully hadn't put cream up yet. Grin) sorry to everyone for tmi.

  1. crouch and tuck bum forward. push slightly down as though you're trying to wee as quickly as you can.

  2. put 2 middle fingers up and curve with the front "wall" open fingers put one on each side of cervix and gently squeeze bring two fingers out and open fingers. I only felt the hole when i pushed down.

this was how i always found it easier to do it, doesn't mean you will, once you find it do how's best for you.

disclaimer for below, please do not look if you don't like blood.

graphic pics of cervix throughout someones cycle.

don't know if you've seen this on ff

meliesmummy · 28/02/2011 21:24

Hi everyone...I'm sneaking a peek of what you're all up to during my ==coffee== squash break at work. V v jealous that you will all get to go to bed soon, hope you don't wake up too sore blackkat!

cep glad there's no sign of af, are you feeling properly pg now? I know what you mean about every twinge but I'm told the stretching starts earlier after your first pg and is more painful, esp if you had a c section last time, did you? Your soft play story sounds familiar, I had to stop a bunch of =brats= nice children from terrorising my dd last week in the library, glad the older ones are back in school! About the cm - I dont need to go looking for it, the horrible brown goo comes to meet me IYKWIM!

olis fx for a bfp for you soon then!

collie glad you are feeling a bit better, happy swepping!

Collie2 · 28/02/2011 21:16

sorry 1-2 weeks next time i should have said

nighty night all xx

Collie2 · 28/02/2011 21:13

cep I can't find a hole, do you have to open or close your fingers? god, the things we talk about!!!

Well the company base is in Morristown which is 5 hours behind. So hes working 2-10....but hes actually just come up so will watch some tv before bed together. He was away for 2 weeks last time and its likley to be 2-3 weeks next time, but its not 100% certain he'll have to so fingers crossed. Its a new job though, so you have to do what you are told.

cep · 28/02/2011 21:01

collie sorry xpost. what's the hr difference to the u.s?? that had to have been difficult him going away at that time, for both of you. How long will he be away next time?

cep · 28/02/2011 20:59

collie sounds absolutely stupid, but i always thought of it feeling the shape of the parsons nose on poultry, but with a hole in it. i always found it easier when i crouched down. i could reach it sat on the loo but it was always more difficult, i found it easier if i pushed down slightly as well so i could get a finger on each side of it.

yrmotb sorry about af arriving.
