A safe place for everyone on the TTC after MC rollercoaster. Welcome and come in - virtual wine and chocolate for all, and lots of support and hand-holding until you get your BFP!

The thread moves fast but don't let that put you off - feel free to come along and stay to chat; or dip in and out with any questions.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

For reference here's a link back to the previous thread

Latest stats to follow in a moment!

collie other things that DP can do... Wear loose briefs/boxers. No very hot baths/showers (cool nuts = good sperm production). No smoking and limited drinking. The vitamins that YRMOTB suggested. Getting sensible amount of sleep so is never 'too tired' to DTD!

chloe what are you doing for your birthday?

aandr I think that 40% is based on her response from people who have tried it. ie not very scientific, and not really taking into account the other people who didn't let her know of any outcome.[sonfused] Basically, it's made up!

youremindmeofthebabe · 03/02/2011 09:34

collie he can take multi-vits, with Zinc, Vit c, Selenium and Vitamin e. Can't remember anything else good for swimmers.. Anyone else?

Chloe55 · 03/02/2011 09:27

Knitter - hope AF stays away from you, and yes! You are testing too early (coming from the woman who tested on Mon and today! Grin)

Cep - Hmmm, I wouldn't eb ruling it out - can you speak to your gp, maybe get some bloods done?

Collie - I have quit childminding for the time being. Not sure if I ever said on here but one of my minded children took a running head butt at my stomach which took my breath clean away when I was pg at about 9wks, went for a scan and there was a heartbeat but when I went for my 12 wk scan they said I had lost the baby at 9wks Sad Part of me knows I lost my baby not long after the knock. Therefore, I have decided to take a work break to give myself plenty of rest and opportunity to conceive.

I won't be bored today though, have lots of singing practice as I will be singing at my birthday eeeek!! Why do I do it to myself?? Grin

Collie2 · 03/02/2011 09:09

Don't forget me I'm up for the SMEP ... Just hope I get a positive with the opk!

Chloe i'm sorry your day has started so rotten. I haven't got any words of comfort as I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to have been trying and longing for such a long time. I am driving myself mad as it is. Are you in work today (sorry I can't remember if you work or not with ds) if not maybe you and him could do something nice today, help take your mind off it. I went to the cinema a LOT when I mc. (( hugs)) for you.

I took my temps again this morn as soon as I woke up, but I'd not had 3 hours undisturbed sleep. Slightly higher again but still -i've on opk.

Off to take my epo and pink gf.....

Oh, before I forget though, when I told dh about the gf and supplements he asked 'what can I do'? No idea!! Anyone????

Wondering if BrownB and choccy should be moved to MIA????

And can someone fling some sort of fish at me - did a test today -ve but AF not due 'til Tuesday so it's FAR too early, especially for my internet cheepies....

Assuming there is no change and AF turns up as expected next week (:() I'll join in the SMEP and will be tracking everything on FF too...

A&R - yeah I had key hole surgery for endometriosis before ds, then I fell pg with him. Fell pg after a couple of years which ended in MC after ds. Then went for testing after another unsuccessful year. You know, the usual, lap & dye, sperm count, bloods, ultrasound etc. I then got diagnosed with PCOS so was meant to start Clomid but found out I was pg summer last year which ended in MMC and now started Clomid this month. Sad

Chloe55 · 03/02/2011 09:03

I will be joining that plan and fllowing everything that mummya put on her list the other day. I never wished for AF to arrive as much as I do now! Thanks Izzy, it really does suck doesn't it. My mum keeps commenting on her friend who was on clomid for 9mths with no joy, decided to give up TTC and now has 3 under 5's Shock - she is in her 40's too and just wasn't expecting to become so fertile! Got to say, it doesn't make me feel any better. Absolutely no disrepect meant to the slightly older ladies TTC it's just that I had a life plan which involved marriage and 2 children before I was 25 with a nice gap of no more than 3 years between my kids, surely that wasn't too much to ask Wink Wouldn't it be lovely if life was that simple. I am trying to (in a diplomatic, not in your face way) trying to explain to friends, most of whom are older than me, not to leave it too long befor they start TTC if they plan on having children. The sad thing is 4 out of the 5 friends currently TTC have fertility problems Shock

AandRMum · 03/02/2011 08:59

Chloe what a long haul! Have you done any testing?

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 03/02/2011 08:51

I think these are right, but have probably forgotten some:

  1. AandRMum
  2. Zamster
  3. MummyA
  4. Izzy
  5. YRMOTB
  6. Velvet

Big ((hugs)) for Chloe sorry you're feeling so Sad. My youngest is 4.5 now and I too have nothing yet to show for all those years without contraception. But we will get there, keep the faith x

AandRMum · 03/02/2011 08:47
  1. AandRMum
  2. Zamster
  3. MummyA

I know there are more SMEPers out there. Better be or else only 3/4 of one of us will get upduffed

ZamMummyInGabs · 03/02/2011 08:08

Can I half sign up to SMEP?

Can't get OPK's here (prob just as well...) but I know my cycle fairly well from charting so having a break today (day 13) then every day from tomorrow onwards, Monday off, then Tuesday. So we'll see....
Will also be drinking cough mixture tomorrow if GF hasn't done its work yet.

Chloe55 · 03/02/2011 08:02

Gonna be a me me me post I'm afraid.

-ve test this morning. Had AF pains for a couple of days now boobs still sore. I am not pg I am just sure of it as I always have def lines with tests, even early. I feel so pissed off this morning and so upset Sad I just really hope AF comes soon and that I don't have to take the Provera to bring it on and I just can't be doing with the faff or hassle of it.

I feel like I have almost spent my adult life TTC, it took over a year with ds who is 5 this month and I haven't been on contraceptive since having him and have been actively trying for the best part of 3 years. This is the first time (other than before ds) that I have got this upset about about the -ve and I know it is because of the hell I seem to have gone through this month to get here. God I hate this, sometimes I wonder whether it is worth it Confused but then I look at ds and know it is Smile

Well done on your exams Orange. I'm sorry that's all I can remember Blush

DachshundsWantPuppies · 03/02/2011 07:59

orange congrats! Glad you did well even after donating me all your exam luck - jsut think how well you could have doneif it wasn't for me! :)

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 03/02/2011 07:45

orange you big geek you! Grin congratulations!!

aandr when's the planning decision due?

velvet hehe your comment about fanjo of swimmers has started a little song going round my head to the tune of 'pencil full of lead'-it's a bit repetitive so is driving me slightly mad but "I've got a fanjo full of swimmers and pipes full of eggs" going round and round and round and round..... No idea about the bath thing I'm afraid-must be soooooooo annoying not having a shower!

cep · 03/02/2011 07:43

orange congatulations, that's great welldone!

collie i can't even get dh to dtd every other day during 1 week never mind 3. i have to try and work out when's best as i have 4 possible cycle lengths, which is every 2 days but can't dtd every 2 days. gets very frustrating.

mummya good luck for today hope it goes well.

the 8 fl oz was about 3/4 of my glass so a bit more than i poured yesterday, but g/f and epo now taken.

I was talking last week about my af being weird and doubting whether it was a proper one or not and this is why, i found my post from back in oct
first post

it's so similar to now, 1 day heavier and spotting lasted longer, i had no clots or real heavy bleeding, but hpt still neg. but you can see why i was sounding so insane.

AandRMum · 03/02/2011 04:25

Pooch my twin (don't tell my DMum that would mean 8 children to her name!!!) it sucks doesn't it but I am holding out great hope for the Great SMEP Experiment - so hop on board (your DH of course) and we will soon be popping out some scrummy babies!

AandRMum · 03/02/2011 04:01

Seem to be doing the jetlag version of SMEP but I have a dispute with the stats. If there is a 25% chance of getting pregnant if you set up a date between egg and sperm then how do they claim 40% success rate?! If everybody followed the method then the best result surely would be 25%? Orange oh so clever lady turn your mighty brain to this!! (I would crack a bottle of champers for you as especially given the circumstances surrounding the exam they are impressive results - but we are saving the Champers for tonight's planning decision) Maybe we should expand the Great Gasby Grapefruit Experiment to include the Great SMEP Stat Check - I hope we blow their stats sky high!! Roll call Ladies - who is SMEPing this month. Sign up, sign up ....

Nice one orange Grin

OrangeGloss · 02/02/2011 22:19

Thanks Grin I was especially surprised as I started MC at the start of one course, had to self-teach from notes, and got AF the day before my exam for it, so think it had more emotion attached to it then I thought

mousebacon · 02/02/2011 21:55

Ooh and well done orange Smile x

mousebacon · 02/02/2011 21:54

Ok, just read the SMEP and I'm in or rather I will be round about march!

Watching Mary Portas...

Collie2 · 02/02/2011 21:42

Although just re-red..... ' SWI every other day for nearly 3 weeks'.....Seriously?!!! sounds unlikely. Grin
