I know this probably sounds silly but please advise. A day earlier than my period should be i had a little blood on my st, no fresh blood as it were, no clots, no really heavy bleeding. It lasted 2-3 days just looked like dried blood. have taken 3 one step pregnancy tests (cheap from ebay on advise from someone else) All have come back negative. My normal period is 5-7 days long and very heavy. Could i actually be pregnant? My first pregnancy was obvious no bleeding at all throughout pregnancy, and a positive test, so unsure as to what to believe don't want to waste dr's time. Please help any advise would be appreciated.

How much past your period due date are you? If you've left it a few days (4-5) then I'd suggest doing another test with early am pee. This might give you a better reading.

i'm about 4 days passed the day i was due. all tests were 1st pee's of the day (last one this morning) How long after should you test. They are cheap tests about 2.99 for 25 choice of ovulation tests or pregnancy or a mixture. Someone else told me they were really good, but now starting to think maybe they were too cheap.

hi, sometimes it depends on your pregnancy hormones and if your levels are high enough. some people take longer than others for it to rise enough to be picked up on, on a test.

i was a week late with my third child and i had 7 clear blue tests all negative. i was pregnant. went on to have my third boy.

now with my girls i had bleeding with all of them. not heavy but like what your sayin. every month for around 5 months.

never had the bleed with the boys, so when i fell pregnant again and no bleeding. i knew it was a boy. he is now 19 months old.

try waiting maybe another week then buy a better test. i dont mean the most expensive, but i used tesco own with my last one. cost around 3.50. hope this helps and i havent bored you lol. take care.

lol, that was really helpful, thank you. i think that's what i'll do, although not sure if i have the patience to wait a week, it's taken a lot longer this time than last time so just a bit confused as to what's going on.

Congratulations!! It sounds like you are pregnant!
maybe levels just had to build up a bit to show on the test.

Thankyou Bundlebelly. Am wondering if maybe the other tests just don't work for me. Will try again in the morning.

Thank you. i think you're on a couple of the threads i've written on so you'll likely see the same thing over again. :-) not sure who writes on which one so i wrote it on all of them.

Yup, I recognised your name from the other thread and came to have a nose - was wondering how you were getting on!

in shock i think. took 3 times longer this time, was going to go to the dr to start discussing problems. won't actually believe it till i have the scan. i was like that before.

Great that the trip to the docs wasn't necessary! Funnily enough I said to DH just the other day that I was thinking about getting acupuncture to see if that would help. Lo and behold...! Maybe that's the key - threaten your lady parts with doctors and needles.

Re not believing it, I feel the same way - I don't want to count my chickens just yet. And this will be my first so it's all new to me. Thank god for mumsnet!
