So near, yet so far! Holiday villa for those waiting TTC#1 having suffered mc

Hi all,

I need to take a holiday with some lovely peeps in the same position; I'm TTC#1 but had 2 mc's this year and now discovered my luteal phase is only 9 days (anything under 10 considered a defect) and probably the reason that I cannot retain a pregnancy.

If you have yet to be blessed with motherhood because mc has cruelly taken away your chance so far, then this is the place to retreat for some R & R whilst your body recovers.

Pull up a sun lounger, and lie back for some lighthearted banter and support whilst monitoring cycles or undergoing investigation and wash down the Vit B6, Agnus Castus, Progesterone and Clomid with a lovely vodka glass of sparkling spring water!!

(FYI - I like ginger nuts for their dunking qualities. And Blush I also like them when they're slightly stale 'cos I love them when they're a bit chewy rather than crunchy)

DachshundsRule · 15/09/2010 12:52

owl what is it wih men! DH and I had words last night on the same subject. You ask them for one little thing, which in the grand scheme of things is nothing compared to what we go through, and it's like you're asking them for a massive favour. Now if it were any other situation, he'd be desperate for it!

wombat those biccies sounds good! Although if they are also essentials, I think that's another funny thing to add to the good life list :) I'd have thought Rich Tea or Digestives would be more liekly to make it onto the essential biscuit list. For me though, out of the basic biccies, it's ginger nuts that I like best.

Straw poll for favourite basic biccies: 1 vote for ginger nuts. Any others make the grade?

Wombat33 · 15/09/2010 12:36

I do indeed have biscuits but I'm afraid all the chocolate ones have gone courtesy of me devouring two packs yesterday Blush now just have Waitrose Essential Jam Sandwich Creams (which sounded a bit like they might combine the best of jammy dodgers and custard creams in one calorific snack - I'll let you know when I open them so you can all try).

On a totally non-TTC or miscarriage (but Waitrose - see above) -related note, I was in there the other day shopping for my mum and noted their new 'Essentials' range (meant to imitate Tesco basics I assume). I was rather tickled to spot the "Essential perfectly ripe baby avocados". I think that's my new definition of living well - "essential" ripe baby avocados... :)

DachshundsRule · 15/09/2010 12:25

mamap boss is in fact female, but the female variety who has never wanted kids and when needed to make people redundant chose the two part time working mothers...

owl thanks (I think - this being upside down is making my dizzy! :) )

(I'm going to ask them for a round of mixed cocktails, so hopefully there will be something there that all of you will like)

owlshoes · 15/09/2010 12:05

Morning lovelies (might not still be morning by the time I hit 'send' on this as am sloooow today.

Welcome Aurora and that is a top idea following Wombat around as I believe she has a stash of biscuits Grin - treating yourself is exactly the right thing to be doing now and folic acid and wine go beautifully together if you ask me :)

MamaP I was also enjoying the prg. feeling but I suspect now this may be because I was not barfing - which in turn was because I was actually no longer prg :( . Am hoping for at least some moderate vomming next time round to prevent mentalling about am I/aren't I etc. And you lot can laugh at me and remind me that I specifically requested this when I am barfing my guts up and whinging about it!

Wombat sounds like the all clear - depressingly weird but a Good Thing to help you move forwards I reckon. Hope you're feeling brighter this morning.

Kat hope the SWI is going well.

I am doing dismally here as today the evil CBFM says peak but it wasn't happening this morning and I can't see it happening tonight either :( Massive, massive arsecrackers. We did manage a half-hearted effort last night but I could see his heart wasn't in it. They only have to do this one thing which happens to be the thing they generally profess to wanting to do more of - until you TTC. Why is it so difficult??

Wombat33 · 15/09/2010 00:13

Ow. computer crashed and lost big post :(

In short - I did a digi HPT tonight - BFN. Strange mixture of sad and relieved. Will do a more sensitive non-digi one in the morning to be sure it's all over.

Good night all. Sleep well and hugs to those in need xxx

Velvetcu · 14/09/2010 23:11

Awww mamap you made me cry!!! It's so unfair isn't it.
I think I will still be round the pool when you lot have long run off with your bfps!!

MamaPower · 14/09/2010 20:49

glad to see you have also joined us here Aurora. You knock back the folic acid with a large glass hon, make the most of it because hopefully you won't be drinking for too much longer Smile Your post on the mother thread actually made me a bit weepy (in a feeling sorry for myself kind of a way) as I totally get the 'I enjoyed being pg feeling'. That then made me think how much much I just want to be a 'mum'.

dachs your boss sounds like a knob!! Please tell me boss is male and therefore half forgivable for being a moron Grin

Hello to all the rest of you lovely ladies...any chance of someone jumping of their sunbed screaming BFP soon? We are all gonna be fabulous mums when we are allowed to move from the pool...I just know it Smile x

AuroraLeigh · 14/09/2010 20:20

Hello, can I join in? I am following Wombat around (thank you for your friendliness x) Have just miscarried 1st pregnancy at 6 weeks, am now at home eating ice cream and trying to recover, will be TTC again as soon as I stop bleeding.
PS Is it wrong that I just took my folic acid/iron tablet with a glass of wine...?! Haven't had a drink for the last 6 weeks...

Velvetcu · 14/09/2010 19:40

Hello hello

I thought I had better post seeing as topics Im on had nothing in it!

How is everyone? I'm sooooo busy with school I can't even think!

I am looking forward to the weekend already.

Wombat33 · 14/09/2010 13:29

Ooh angry Wombat is threatening to surface again [see other thread]. I'd be sorely tempted to get a sick note from the GP and tell your boss where to go. Sorry. I know it's not that straight forward in real life. Hugs. I really hope things calm down at work soon.

DachshundsRule · 14/09/2010 13:24

Thanks wombat.

This is the boss who only let me have three days off for the mc and made me go back to work while still bleeding heavily, so not exactly the most understanding about any of this. And wouldn't let me take sick leave when I have flu even though I fainted at work one day because my temperature was so high and I should have been tucked up in bed.

Wombat33 · 14/09/2010 13:15

Hi Dachs. Still willing the swimmers on for you. Sorry your booss is being a nightmare. I take it some time off sick is out of the question then?

DachshundsRule · 14/09/2010 13:08
Wombat33 · 14/09/2010 10:49

Morning ladies. I've brought chocolate biscuits. They're special ones that don't melt in the sun bu the pool.

MamaPower · 13/09/2010 19:12

Wakari just in case you are wondering about Dachs saying she had posted on the other thread; there is a mother fred, it's where the wider community of those ttc after mc hang together! It's also a great source of support and laughter, we keep a stat's list on that one too.
This and another thread were started to give a special space for those in different place's and also because it gets very hectic over there and this is somewhat more peaceful!
Everyone will make you feel very welcome if you wanted to join that one too... click here

Hello all, sorry not posted from my sunlounger but got distracted by all that pimms. Have ordered in some nice fruity cocktails for us to enjoy in the jacuzzi, along with some luxury chocolates. Need to get my energy levels up for some SWI this week! Going to put the telly on to see how the lovely Rafa is getting on/has got on in the tennis.

DachshundsRule · 13/09/2010 16:45

Thanks for all the good wishes. Have posted on the mega busy thread with an update, and will keep you all posted.xxx

owlshoes · 13/09/2010 13:27

Afternoon all :)

Wakari hope you're feeling okay today - random crying is very, very normal and it's better to just let it out I reckon. It's such a horrible mixture of hormones all over the shop and grief and it can take quite a while to level out.

Dachs hope all goes well today my dear :)

MamaP I have no idea who Josie and John James are - but how bloody rude of them for nicking your name! Cheeky buggers Grin

Effing CBFM has still not given me effing peak - tis now 5 days of high in a row which I am sure is a great big fib/impossibility. However by my calculations it ought to be a peak tomorrow morning when I test so I think it's only fair Mr Owlshoes gets a night off tonight - oh, to be 20-something and full of energy again.

Wombat33 · 13/09/2010 09:06

Glad to oblige - wakarimasen have some Pimm's. I have a never ending supply!

I posted on the other thread but in case you check here first: GOOD LUCK Dachs for today - hope you got some sleep and the IUI goes well.

MamaPower · 12/09/2010 22:05

awww Wakari that's perfectly normal chick. my first (and most traumatic) mc was back in early June and I still have moments of bursting into tears. Take refuge in this little peaceful corner where we all understand.

Hi Lottie I had visions of a bad western movie with that dodgy music playing while you staggered in peeping from under your stetson!! hee hee! OH MY GOD...was just gonna post this when the advert for eastenders came on tv and they were playing that dodgy western music cause Kat's coming back to the square... hillarious!

Owl & Hairy hope the CBFM's have been giving you the SWI green light Wink

Dachs good luck for tomorrow Smile. Our business plan is almost there! We're buy a pub but think along the lines of an upmarket Bistro...I'll be a landlady! Oh I hope I don't turn out like Peggy mitchell or worse still Liz Macdonald Shock

Still no book reading going on round here so bought myself 'ok' magazine, I never buy it normally but Josie and John James were on the cover, god i am such a sucker!! All was well until I read what Josie said she would a call a boy if she had one and it was my bloody name Angry now all the world will be using it! Pah! They'll be chip wrapper paper in a week...I hope!

Oooooh I've just been droooooooling over Meeeeester Robbie Williams Grin. Is it me or is it that song with Gazza a bit brokeback mountain?

I spent the afy with my best made and her 5 year old; he is adorable. They are the times when I desperately crave my own, and gets me all choked up.

Night night all x

Sad feelings returned yestreday and I have found myself getting tearful again. Thought I was getting over it all. Anyway, as a result, I spent the evening with the holiday reps drinking too much wine and have only just woken up. I am enjoying this break in TTC very much.(Lying on sunlounger with very dark sunglasses on)

owlshoes · 12/09/2010 13:58

But of course you are, Lottie my dear. Here; have a keg of Pimms, that will go down nicely on a Sunday afternoon (if Wombat's left us any Grin )

LottieCrump · 12/09/2010 13:42

The outlaw LottieCrump wonders, as she a) is old b) is TTC #1 and c) suffered MMC with first attempt, if is allowed to occasionally bask in the sun with you lovely gals?

Hi Dachs, Hairy, MamaP, Owl ..

DachshundsRule · 12/09/2010 13:24
