See LadyG, I told you they are bloomin random!! Am going to write a stern letter to Brother Max. Grin

I was thinking exactly that, of discarding the old temps, I may have OV-ed and not picked it up. Had some hope as a lady on the June Bus didn't get a positive OPK til CD21 (after a previous 27 day cycle)!!

Cervical fluid is very creamy today (what a lovely subject Blush) And I don't know if this means anything but I have been trying to find my cervix and it seemed higher up than I thought and I could feel the hard knobbly bit, anyway today it feels like there is a hole in it??

And you're advice is VERY useful - I really appreciate the lovely advice you have been giving! Smile

LadyGoneGaga · 09/10/2010 18:48

Hi Terry's. Blimey, they are off aren't they! Ok, new strategy. Abandon the ear thermometer. It's clearly mental and v unreliable for your purposes. I would start charting from scratch now and discard your previous temp data as not reliable. I think is unlikely but not impossible that you didn't get an opk. So you could have ovved. But more likely not due to the opk's.

Sorry, that not very helpful is it. Keep using new thermometer and just wait and see. What's your cervical fluid doing at the moment?

TerrysNo2 · 09/10/2010 18:26

Hi mouse - really sorry to hear about your MC. Sad I hope you get a negative on thurs.

Well I am feeling well and truly frustrated today - day 11 of a negative OPK in what I thought would be a 27 day cycle (now CD20). Also temps are completely flummoxing me, have been using DS's digi thermometer as thought it would do the job but get random fluctuations each time I take it - can vary by 0.5 degrees in the space of 30 seconds. Now using a fertility thermometer and comparing results to the digi one are WAY out. They are:

Yesterday
Digi 36.1
Fertility 35.91

Today
Digi 35.7
Fertility 36.33

How do I even compare those when they are not even correlated - and they were done at the same time?!?! Confused

Could I have OV-ed and temps have been wrong and no positive OPK. I guess it is possible but very unlikely huh??!!? Now I am just wanting my AF to come so I can start again.

Sorry for such a selfish post, just having a real aaagggghhh day!!

Love to all.

rocketleaf · 09/10/2010 10:18

teamouse I am so sorry to hear your news, :( I really hope that your body does the needful and you get a negative test on thursday.

will be thinking of you today spilt and hoping your body also does the needful with as little intervention as possible.

digi so much luck for the scan, third time lucky for sure. will that be next week then?

hope you win asap lady at least it sounds like your timing was good.

digitalgirl · 09/10/2010 09:35

Thinking of you today spilt. Wishing you lots of strength.

mouse yes got a bfp last weekend so still early days.

ladyggg sucks when you get pg announcements that feel so close to when you should have made yours.

Should be about 5 weeks tomorrow. Just grateful to get through each day without much incident at the moment. Have got an early scan booked in for 6 weeks. It'll be far too early to confirm viability or even see a heartbeat but last pregnancy stopped developing before 5 weeks even though I didn't miscarry till 7, and one before that stopped just after 5 weeks - so just hoping this time it measures ok.

LadyGoneGaga · 09/10/2010 09:09

Hi mouse I'm ok thanks, good days and bad. Physically all fine. I think I ovved for first time on Thursday about 4 weeks after the mc. We are definitely ttc again, I just want a baby. SIL announced is pg, due a month after I was. Happy for her but sad for me.

Spilt am thinking of you. Just do whatever you need to do to get through this. You are so brave and strong. Hopefully your body is gearing up to do what it needs to do and the interventions will be minimal.

mousebacon · 09/10/2010 08:40

Good luck spilt, hope it goes as well as it can IYSWIM. I'll be thinking of you xx

hi digi, good to hear from you. Did I see somewhere you'd had a BFP? Hope you're well xxx

spilttheteaagain · 09/10/2010 05:54

Well I'm up, and I've thrown up. Not sure if it's nerves or drugs or my body getting going (really hoping it's the latter and that it will be "ready" for labour and not need too much kicking with drugs). I've been leaking fluid in trickles since yesterday afternoon and have a dragging periody feeling now.

Wish me luck Confused

teason hoping and praying that you get a neagtive later this week and don't need anymore treatment.

digitalgirl · 08/10/2010 23:21

Sad teason really so so sorry to see you back here too. Life really is quite fucked up sometimes. I completely understand that need to immediately get pregnant again. Hopefully it won't be too long.

mousebacon · 08/10/2010 22:29

Thanks ladies, I've been overwhelmed by all the kindness shown to me on here, it really has meant so much. How are you LGGG? Are you ttc again? xx

LadyGoneGaga · 08/10/2010 21:50

Oh teason/mouse, I am so, so sorry. It feels like no time since we were all here with BFP's. Sad You must feel so shocked. I hope everything comes out on its own so you don't have to have the op. I wish there was something I could do to offer comfort.

My thoughts are with both the teas this weekend. We'll all have our babies soon.

xxxx

MummyAbroad · 08/10/2010 21:48

So sorry that you have to go through this mousebacon The first few days are very raw and so difficult. Hope you are getting lots of support in real life. Look after yourself, lots of rest and treats. xxxxx

mousebacon · 08/10/2010 20:45

Thanks ladies, I started bleeding on sat lunchtime and it was completely out of the blue. I had to go to casualty in order to get a scan ap with the epu but they wouldn't see me till the Tuesday. I woke through the night on Sunday soaked in blood and DH rushed me back to a&e. The transferred me to another hospital where it was confirmed as a mc. Devastated is an understatement. An internal scan showed there were some retained products so I had medical management and was in hosp all ofmonday. I have to take a pg test on thurs and if it's positive I'll have to have an erpc but I really hope it doesn't come to that.

Spilt you are being so brave and I truely wish you lots of love and the strength to get through this. We will have our happy endings, I'm sure of it xxxxx

spilttheteaagain · 08/10/2010 20:34

Oh teason I am so sorry Sad

I know what you mean about feeling at home here, I gravitated straight back with my bad news.

Did you have to have treatment to help with your MC? I hope you are recovering quickly physically though I know the emotional side is going to be a long hard road.

Really hope we both get to have healthy pregnancies before too long.

Take care of yourself, I'll be thinking and praying for you xxx

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 08/10/2010 20:24

Oh my goodness theteas/mousebacon - I seen your posts on some of the other forums, had no idea it was you, I'm so sorry and hope you are OK (as much as can be expected) x
It has been a very sad week :(

mousebacon · 08/10/2010 20:02

Hi ladies, it's theteasonme here. I miscarried my baby at 11 weeks on sunday/Monday. I am scared at what the next few months have in store but feel like I just want to be pg again.

Spilt I am so, so sorry for your loss and have you in my prayers.

Sorry to be back under such sad circumstances but I feel at home on this thread!

xx

TerrysNo2 · 08/10/2010 19:53

Thanks MummyA I just want it to happen, I'm not really stressed about it, just frustrated! Although we have DS, he was an "accident" so I have never done this before and am a bit perplexed by it all.

Whatever happened to the good ol stork?!? Grin

MummyAbroad · 08/10/2010 18:37

Hi Terrys dont forget stress can delay ov, so its not uncommon for it to take ages (especially if you are really stressed about whether it will come or not!)

Its also really common not to get OPK positives either because it was quick and you missed it or because for some women they just dont work.

Dont give up just yet. Ov could be right around the corner!

TerrysNo2 · 08/10/2010 17:02

Thanks bessie I may well have a look into that book. Been EWCM-ing for 10 days now too so my body must be really geared up!!!

Come on egg!!

bessie26 · 08/10/2010 14:42

terrys when i fell pg with DD I didn't get a +OPK & I was doing one every morning (I thought that was the best time of day to do it - concentrated wee & all that), so don't be too disheartened - your chart will tell you when you O!

You are getting EWCM, which is always a good sign, it means your body is gearing up to O (although it can sometimes do it for several days beforehand!) - Keep at the SWI & read TCOYF if you haven't already

TerrysNo2 · 08/10/2010 14:19

Thanks LadyG although when I compared this morning, I got a higher temp in the ear than in the mouth!!

I just did an OPK and a big fat nothing again. I am getting quite disheartened by it now as that's 10 negatives now. My last cycle was 27 days so I figure either this one is going to be much longer or I won't have OV-ed at all. Sad

How common is it not to OV??

LadyGoneGaga · 08/10/2010 08:33

MA but it will be good to draw a line under this horrible cycle. Bet you can't wait to get it over with. My cervix feels fairly big - about a couple of cm I reckon - just shows all womens bodies are different!

Terrys you could take temps with both but record the new thermometer stuff on a paper chart for now. Just continue using the old one in FF for this cycle only. That way you might be able to spot the temp shift on both and will have a better idea of your correct range of temps for next month. The difference in the two temps is because fever thermometers aren't as accurate, you get a lower temp in your ear than you would in your mouth, even warmer temp in vagina or anally (wince),also fever temperatures are calibrated to be more accurate at higher temps (i.e. when you have a fever) whereas BBT thermometers are calibrated for "normal" range of temperatures.

MummyAbroad · 07/10/2010 22:57

Sorry, just realised I missed a whole page of posts!

LadyG I have got three more days to go (which means AF in time for the weekend Confused) I have a pregnant SIL too. Its hard but I force myself to be happy for her Hmm

Terry's here is a link (I get mine from US site though, pretty sure they are the same)

www.amazon.co.uk/Highly-Sensitive-Ovulation-Fertility-Strips/dp/B001G7P62S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1286488413&sr=8-1 they are the pee in cup and dip kind.

I managed to find my cervix, good tip is to do small circular sweeps. Mine felt much smaller than I expected, a tiny bump! By the way, I learned pretty much everything I know from the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility its excellent.

MummyAbroad · 07/10/2010 22:42

Split,

I felt exactly the same after my mmc discovered at 14 weeks - I just thought it would never happen to me. Sadly it is all so very common.

This is a really good website which might help answer some of your immediate questions
www.pregnancyloss.info

If it helps in some small way with getting the practicalities organised here are some ideas on what to take to hospital:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/miscarriage/1014869-Medical-Miscarriage-tomorrow-What-should-I-take-to-hospital

and lastly (sorry to bombard you with links)

over on this thread you will find lots and lots of support from women who have mcs, lots of whom are trying again but some of us are just hanging out for support. You are welcome to come join us xxxxxx

bessie26 · 07/10/2010 22:41

terrys - welcome! - different thermometers will give you different readings in different orifices! - you need to stick to the same one for your chart (or keep track of several different charts!)
