All my plans at getting organised in the last thread left me as I realised the thread with referrals was already up and running, so the one I set up I'll link to once the current one runs out!

Welcome one and all to this safe, warm and fuzzy place for people to share discounts, bargains and Christmas gift ideas both online and IRL. Please note the tone and intention of the thread and join with spirit as generous as DC helping themselves to the Christmas chocolate celebrations Smile .

Here’s some useful information about how to save the thread or a specific post so you don’t need to have a message to check in for every thread so you have the thread saved:

To watch the thread - click on the little bell that has ‘watch’ under my first message. This adds the whole thread to your ‘watched threads’

You can also bookmark a specific post by clicking on the ‘bookmark’ under the specific post. This saves your exact place in a thread but doesn’t alert you to new replies.

If you have any referral links or codes, please share them on the referral thread here

A reminder that we don't use affiliated links on here please

If there’s anything you think would be useful or good to include in this post then please do tag me and let me know here (or DM me). Also always happy to hear nominations for a thread title.

They’re not actually cheap, but for those who split sets to make gift bags, or fill advent calendars these might be nice as bigger gifts.
3 creed perfumes for £105.
Creed

also a good option for splitting, 4 flavoured vodkas

Some nice recipe books £18 down to £5

I’m sure someone was looking for a dad mug. This one is half price

Just to say I bought a full sized bottle of the Connie Glaze vodka as a present last year after a recommendation of a good deal on here last year. It looks beautiful in the flesh & went down a storm with a recipient who usually barely raises a smile! 😃

Speaking of candlewarmers, could someone please post a link to a good one. I left a candle burning - again - yesterday and really need to move away from lighting them in the first place!

minsmum · 23/09/2026 16:15

I bought the lamp candle warmer, it's sitting here looking at me and have just received an email from Amazon thanking me for returning it and confirming that my refund had been issued ????

Many coeliacs, including me, are not able to tolerate much gluten free oats. I can eat a few biscuits which contain gf oats, but then have a reaction.

Any good gluten free bargains? My DD was recently diagnosed celiac and I want to get her some bits / make her a basket of stuff but want a good bargain

Moser Roth chocolate from Aldi is delicious, but look for any other edibles with no gluten containing ingredients. So if on the list of ingredients it says 'contains' or 'may contain' wheat, rye, oats or barley' or it says 'made in a factory which makes gluten containing ingredients', march on swiftly....

Pinkladymel · 23/09/2026 15:53

With Coeliac I find Schar is always a winner. If you wait a bit, Tesco and Asda will have their stuff in and they do the best festive GF things at a decent price (for GF). Also check out the gluten free Christmas guide by Beck Excell. She does a supermarket guide to what's in each supermarket and includes items that are 'accidentally Gluten free' that are normal prices. For example, Aldi does some amazing Christmas crisps and they're accidentally GF :)

Speaking as a fellow celiac, I'd concentrate more on the taste than the bargainous price if possible, so much GF food is rubbish and costs so much already, to get good versions of things tou do have to pay more them unfortunately. There's going to be rhe odd thing you can find thats a diamond in the rough, but it's definitely trial and error.

There's increasing noise around non stick pans not being great because the coating flakes off. The metal ones are amazing, especially if heavy based commercial grade ones, but check she doesn't have an induction hob as they might not work. I get mine from a charity shop so you can see how they last.

Yes, DH is very fussy about this. This is why the Lakeland one was safe!

I have to go to Primark tomorrow, it's a v small one but sometimes has random bits bigger ones had ages ago, what size do you need and if they have I can post

That is so kind of you. Thank you!! Size 8-10 would be perfect :)

WimbyAce · 23/09/2026 13:47

We have Judge saucepans and they are great. Had them 15 years or so. We have broken one or 2 lids by accident (glass smashed) but you can get replacement lids which is handy.

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 23/09/2026 13:45

Mumbythesea1 · 23/09/2026 13:07

Unfortunately I have searched vinted and eBay relentlessly. Even tried the image search 😬
thank you though x

Was it you who was asking about Our Place pans on the last thread? I got myself one brand new on Vinted so worth checking there, there are tons on there and you could search “new with tags” if for a gift.

My first time to these boards; where have you been all my life? I’ve found my people…

Further to this - I have induction

Mine are stainless steel and have lasted decades. They were a decent set (not sure if they are Judge or Stellar) but they were an investment that has paid off.

I'm happy to get daughter an equivalent set, as she's setting up home, but I don't want to pay a lot for something that won't last.

I mentioned earlier about looking to buy Bose QuietComfort Ultra 2nd Gen headphones. Got some very helpful comments recommending the refurbished Bose. I went to buy yesterday and found Amazon selling these at a promotion for £286.22 - even cheaper than refurbished. Thought I'd send through in case anyone's interested as from what I can see online this is a good price as ever if you're planning on getting these.

Are air ups still popular? Considering for my nearly 8 year old.

Also recruited the primark pyjamas - check vijted. Might get some with tags.

Think it depends where you are. My girls both have moved on from airup and now have Owala bottles.
