More of a question I’m afraid, my son had spoken constantly about the Lego Harbour set (60422). Its way over budget really, just planning ahead does anyone have a clues/intel as to whether it goes under £100 on Black Friday etc?

The belgian chocolate white chocolate chunk cookies from Morrisons are devine and feel so indulgent for GF.

I am having major problems with Amazon too. I went to order something and my account has been suspended due to the high number of refunds processed and requested.....went into my orders and every item in the last 6 months has been marked as refund requested, no refunds in my account, i've not returned the items, i am on day 3 of chasing and waiting for Amazon to reach out.

I’d second this. Absolutely terrible bottles and my son said it just tasted like plain water

If it helps, I have just given all three of our boys’ AirUps to a charity shop.
They are an absolute PIG to clean, with multiple parts, get mouldy in the mouthparts and lid very easily, are a faff to dismantle and reassemble, and the pods are ruinously expensive. Somehow the company got us all paying for flavoured air which is a marketing bonanza in fairness.
The boys were desperate to get them a couple of years ago but they (and I) couldn’t maintain any enthusiasm in the face of the maintenance effort and costs.

A lovely gluten free company is Honeybuns based in Dorset, they do a wide range of cake bars and are sometimes stocked by the till in cafes. They do lots of gift tins including Oat-free or Dairy-free. Not hugely bargainous but I think they email offers in their newsletter.

Components have jumped in price and a lot of
tech has gone up recently as a result. Eg iPad A16 11inch went up £100 in the summer which was huge considering it used to be around £329 and RRP is now £429.

Amazon has introduced a price history buttons so you can see if you are getting a good deal. I’ve always used Camel Camel Camel UK for this. It does the same thing tracking Amazon pricing but you can also set up email alerts for price drops without having an account with Camel. There can be a lag so I rely having items saved for later on Amazon around Black Friday for instant pricing. Great if you know something could drop and are in no rush.

Deku Deals provides the same service for Switch games. You can see if the physical or hard copy is cheaper and where to buy. You need an account for alerts and I’ve not tried this.

@Dreamingofwalden last week the V60 was free with an advent calendar from pact coffee. But it appears to not be now.

Bought 2 of the Fortnum’s flavours last summer for a special occasion - they were amazing! Definitely not a bargain though 😂

Fortnum do gluten free biscuits. If the goal is making sure they know good ones exist I'd start there.

As you can see from the picture I literally purchased this one a year ago. Used almost daily and still on the bulb it came with.

@HoHoJ0 I was after Kobo on the previous thread for the very reason of Borrow Box and I'm yet to find a bargain. Kindle works for libraries too if it's US registered but not UK.

How llong ago did you order?
Shops can only hold your money for a certain length of time (30 days?) without sending the order. They will charge you again when they actually ship it!
It happened to me before and as I'd had no communication from them (Loungefly not SpaceNK) I assumed it was cancelled so I bought the bag elsewhere. A few weeks later they charged me again and shipped it!

@ChristmasMad1 Fellow Coeliac here, agree that most GF free from stuff is awful. Don't mean to rain on your parade but it can be upsetting when you can't replicate your fave biscuits. Second the wonderful Asda timeout dupes tho and M&S chocolate cake! I always look out at Christmas for tins or bags of 'cadbury chunks' (milk choc, caramel & whole nut) because I can't have a normal cadbury bar or cadbury caramel but I can have these special Christmas mini version as they do not have the usual may contain warning 🎉

I'm looking to buy my BiL a V60 brew kit or Aeropress for Christmas for when they go on holiday. I'm not sure whether to go for a V60 or Aeropress. Any thoughts and any bargains? Thank you!

Im sure someone is clever enough to make these cheaper but as a recommendation my teen loves the m+s give me smore tin. Apparently it’s all over tik tok- I had bought one early and stashed but we broke into it tonight after she had a difficult week.

also I’ve randomly had a refund from space nk but my order is still showing as being processed. Everything crossed they fulfill it!

Lazy Day gluten free products are great - Rocky Road, Chocolate Tiffin and Salted Caramel Squares all very popular in this house (3 of wheat free, dairy free, 2 x egg free). You can get them at supermarkets.

Asda and Tesco GF stuff more reliable than M&S in my view - find M&S GF tastes very strongly of sodium bi-carbonate except their hot cross buns which are great though have egg in. Schar also good - packs of mini pretzels, Pringle equivalents and their Christmas Speculaas biscuits are okay too, though I now prefer the Caramelised Moments (?) which might be by Nairns.

Many of the Tesco and Asda Christmas items are brilliant. Tesco and Sainsbury’s do very good GF Christmas puddings inc mini-sized ones if you are doing a Christmas theme. Nomo chocolate is excellent, as are the Buttermilk bars which are free-from dupes of Mars Bars, Snickers, Bounty and Kit Kat Chunky (my absolute favourite, have only seen it in Sainsbury’s) - just double check if they are fully GF though as we have to avoid wheat only, not all Gluten.

@ChristmasMad1 it may also be nice to make up a hamper of "normal" food that is accidentally gluten free - it is nice to know what you can grab eg kit kat Chocolate santas! You can often find lists online. Becky excell usually posts on supermarket offerings.

Yes to all of these. Nairns GF generally is nice, there are “oaties” biscuits they make. And a lot of Lindt is GF.

Extra nice / fun shaped GF pasta is kind of nice too. Morrisons have gf dino pasta, which might be fun depending your daughter’s perspective!
