Mumofgirls2017 · 23/06/2022 12:38

My votes are for Alexander and Clara (although also love Juliet!)

SpaceJamtart · 20/06/2022 17:24

Alexander and Rowan
Violet and Clara

I think it would be funny to meet a cbild called Brian thats like an great-uncle type name to me and so different to your others

Rebelmcstreettuff · 20/06/2022 17:10

Alexander or violet for me.

waterlego · 20/06/2022 16:50

James and Juliet are my favourites from your lists.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 20/06/2022 16:49

Michael or Nora, but they are all good names (including Brian!)

Critiquelist · 20/06/2022 16:48

Thanks everyone!! Alexander seems to be the front runner boy and girls more mixed! Brian not a popular one 😂 I’ll send the thread to DH to look at too hopefully we can narrow it down to top name for each!

Another vote for Alexander or Juliet.

bloominglovelyorange · 20/06/2022 16:44

Boys

Alexander, James and George are all classy classic choices
Brian and michael are more unusual these days but I still like them, depends if you do?
Rowan is my baby girls name and if I'd realised RoMan with an M is the fastest rising boy name (now top 30 and still rising) I would not have chosen it. Always a couple of baby Romans (Reuben, Rory, Ruby and Ronnie's) in the baby groups. Very different names but when there's a group of them in a room they merge. Very trendy and obviously a popular choice though. About 3 years ago you'd never meet many baby Romans (with an M) but it's super trendy now

For girls I like Violet and Nora

TempsPerdu · 20/06/2022 14:36

Alexander and Juliet

Chaoslatte · 20/06/2022 14:31

Alexander or James for a boy, Juliet or Clara for a girl.

Please don’t name your baby Brian! He really won’t thank you for it.

I didn’t see the Juliet pronunciation thread at the time but as far as I’m concerned Juliet and Juliette are pronounced the same! Juliette is just the French spelling which requires the double t and e for the t to be pronounced under French phonetic rules.

@ArmWrestlingWithChasNDave , here's a link to the thread: www.mumsnet.com/talk/baby_names/4556162-how-would-you-pronounce-juliet

FayCarew · 20/06/2022 14:09

@ArmWrestlingWithChasNDave , there was a thread on it recently and a lot of posters said they say it as Juliette, so even if everyone knows how to say it, not everyone will say it the same way.

RandomQuest · 20/06/2022 13:27

Alexander for a boy. Juliet or Violet for a girl.

JuneJubilee · 20/06/2022 13:26

George or Clara.

Definitely not Brian or Violet.

OceanbreezeSun · 20/06/2022 13:23

Alexander out of the boys names

Juliet or Violet out of the girls names

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 20/06/2022 13:21

Alexander
Violet

17caterpillars1mouse · 20/06/2022 13:20

I would choose Michael and Clara

ArmWrestlingWithChasNDave · 20/06/2022 13:17

I've never heard somebody do that. Juliet's a nice name and everybody knows how to pronounce it.

FayCarew · 20/06/2022 12:57

@ArmWrestlingWithChasNDave , Juliet. Like if they said Julia as Julie Ah or Harriet as Harry Ette

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 20/06/2022 11:04

Alexander- strong, classic, not twee and not overused

Nora- lovely name.
Olivia I love also but so popular in recent years

garlictwist · 20/06/2022 10:54

Please not Brian.

rehc · 20/06/2022 10:50

I did not know that 'Brian' was back on the scene! Not a fan.
Like Alexander!

ArmWrestlingWithChasNDave · 20/06/2022 10:50

Juliet - no, because people say it as Julie Ette

As opposed to what?

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 20/06/2022 10:49

James and Violet

Feckingfeck · 20/06/2022 10:49

Noreen is an alternative to Nora? Sounds less old ladyish to me.
