Guessing game V!

Merry twixmas! Xmas Grin

We have reached thread 5(!) of the baby names Guessing Game.

This was the (brilliant) brain child of @scotstar back in March 2018. Smile

All are welcome, rules of this game are pretty straightforward - someone describes a name. Whoever solves the clues is then in charge of describing the next name. Simple! Make the clues as fiendish or straightforward as you like. Grin

I'm lost... Phyllida? Grin

GrinGrinGrin
It's a male name but has a female version of it too.

LadyGAgain · 04/03/2021 22:50

Which sounds almost the same (if that helps)

Ellmau · 05/03/2021 21:15

Leslie?

LadyGAgain · 06/03/2021 06:30

No.
Though he is known for being Trigger Happy....

Ladywillpower · 06/03/2021 06:58

Dominic?

LadyGAgain · 06/03/2021 22:11

You've got it!

You could go west, perhaps to a castle! Or maybe abroad, or to Kalokairi. We are all linked by one name.
(Dominic - West, Cummings, Raab, Cooper, Trigger happy

Ladywillpower · 07/03/2021 10:38

My name means a flower in another language.
I have played a genteel lady but may criticise your fashion sense.

Ellmau · 07/03/2021 11:27

Marguerite?

Ladywillpower · 08/03/2021 01:50

Not Marguerite. Different flower & different language.

finallychangedmyusername · 12/03/2021 18:25

Susannah?

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 13/03/2021 08:12

Yes!
Susannah = Lily in Hebrew
Susannah Harker played Jane Bennett in Pride & Prejudice.
Susannah Constantine along with Trinny Woodall gave fashion advice.

finallychangedmyusername · 15/03/2021 09:14

Thanks @Ladywillpower! I suddenly have a brainwave about Susannah being Hebrew for lily.

Here's another!

This Arthurian lady may prefer to go by either a name associated with sorcery or royalty, or a questioning musician or dance music DJ.

OP posts:
LadyGAgain · 16/03/2021 13:29

Annie?

finallychangedmyusername · 16/03/2021 19:26

Ah, almost there! Annie is one the names she may go by (i.e. a possible nickname).

OP posts:
LadyGAgain · 16/03/2021 19:47

Annwen? Or Ann?

finallychangedmyusername · 17/03/2021 15:15

Not Anwen, nor Ann. You're close though!

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 22/03/2021 11:01

The nickname associated with either sorcery or royalty, is traditionally a boy's name.

OP posts:
Ellmau · 22/03/2021 17:47

Morgan?

finallychangedmyusername · 22/03/2021 19:42

Not Morgan sorry. Anwen/Anne is closest guess so far!

OP posts:
LadyGAgain · 26/03/2021 06:59

I've been coming back to this daily and have not had a brainwave!

finallychangedmyusername · 26/03/2021 20:45

She is much loved.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 27/03/2021 08:23

And she's Welsh.

OP posts:
Ellmau · 27/03/2021 08:55

Gwenan?

finallychangedmyusername · 27/03/2021 18:08

Nope sorry!
