Can I have a Hazel Meadows?

Our surname is Meadows and I love the name Hazel, just wondering if it would be ok?

I also think it sounds like a "thing". Either a housing estate or a nursing home mainly.

Hazel is a pretty name, but I wouldn't use it with your surname. Sorry!

I think it's fine, Hazel Meadows. A little on the Maisie Raine or Rosemary & Thyme side of things... (in fact has there not been a TV series featuring someone called Hazel Meadows or similar?)

If not then why not. Meadows though... what a dream of a surname especially for a girl!! So pretty and goes with so many things! Just as well my surname isn't Meadows (also, I haven't got a girl!) because I would be going all-out on the frilly first names. I wouldn't be able to resist

It's a bit on the twee side but I don't think it's a pisstakibg name. Hazel trees don't tend to come in meadows! It's not like it's Poppy Fields or Polly Esther Cotton.

I love both names but it does sound like a location. Meadows is a gorgeous surname.

It does sound like a place (but love the name Hazel). I have a similar issue as my surname is Barnes (which could also be spelt Barns) and then can sound like a place if the wrong first name is used e.g., Jackson or Harrison

I don't like the name Hazel anyway. I know lots of Hazels 50+ and they are a type. Not a cool name.

It sounds a but like a nursing home or something to me. It is a lovely name though. Maybe look for a different style of name...perhaps nature names will just not go with your surname.
