I knew a Mallory once (she will be in her 60s now. She had a sister called Richenda!)

Good name, different, easy to pronounce, hopefully the only one on the school which is good in my book.

Agree on removing the e.
I don't think it's popular enough to date, which is not a bad thing.
It doesn't strike me as particularly masculine or feminine.

Saw it on a baby name finder site. I'm not worried about the Towers connection. Every name holds some sort of connotation.

Also sounds VERY American. reminds me of a character in the 1980s sitcom Family Ties.

The spelling looks wrong to me.

If it were spelled Mallory I would think it was a nice sensible name without loving or hating it.

I know not all names get shortened but I'm not keen on 'Mal'. Aside from that I like it.

I don't think it will date particularly and I prefer the spelling without the e.

I love it, it does remind me of Mallory Towers, which I adored as a kid in the 80s, but it's a pretty name. I also love Romilly. I love a double 'l' in a name, don't know why tho...

I don't think it's spelt with an e. Also, I hate to say it but the name means "great sadness and unhappiness".

I'd think of the musical, City of Angels - unlikely to be a major association though!

It means Army counsellor on the site where I saw it Fenella.

As did most of the names starting with Mal, Mall.

Mal is French for bad. Malheureux means unhappiness. According to google:

Spelt the way in the title - no. No one will ever get it right and it looks very wrong.

Mallory Towers and Mallory from the babysitters club! I always think it means sadness or Ill? Could be wrong though. It's nice but not with the 'e'
