Edmund.

I really like it as it reminds me of one of my favourite characters but dp and his family immediately think of someone else, who I can't stand. I'm hoping it's just them who will associate it in that way though.

A good friend of mine. Really like the name.

Claraoswald36 · 14/04/2016 18:52

King Lear

LizzieVereker · 14/04/2016 18:52

It makes me think of the Edmund in King Lear. But I am quite dull.

Iloveahotcrossbun · 14/04/2016 18:49

Niles from Frasier.
I know he's not called Edmund but this is who I thought of!

TeaBelle · 14/04/2016 18:49

Edmund from the lion, the witch and the wardrobe

Snoopydo · 14/04/2016 18:47

Little old man, old-fashioned, staid

CaptainAnkles · 14/04/2016 18:44

My immediate thought was Narnia, even though I love Blackadder.

Voteforpedr0 · 14/04/2016 18:30

Also the munsters

spankhurst · 14/04/2016 18:26

Blackadder, then the episode of Miranda where she she says that someone's name is EdMUND not EdWARD to emphasise his weirdness.

Sorry (I actually quite like the name!)

squoosh Glad I'm not the only one who thought of him - I was beginning to wonder!
Why don't you like him - is it the whole Mary Crawford business?

ophiotaurus · 14/04/2016 16:45

Narnia

alltouchedout · 14/04/2016 16:44

Edward I's younger brother. Goodness knows why!

EleanorofCastile · 14/04/2016 16:42

I don't think of anyone, just that it's a nice name.
I do vaguely recollect Narnia now it has been mentioned, that may be pat of the reason I like it. I am familiar with Blackadder but didn't make the Edmund connection.

It's my first choice at the moment if DC1 is a DS, and the Blackadder connection might have been why DP looked less than impressed when I mentioned it! But I think it's not too strong an association that the name won't become the baby's own and lose the Blackadder link for the family. It's a lovely name.

squoosh · 14/04/2016 16:40

Edmund Bertram.

I don't like Edmund Bertram much.

I thought of Narnia. Only remembered Blackadder when others mentioned it.
