What names would you choose?

There are lots of names that my dh and I don't agree on. If you could use any name you wanted, what would it be?

Personally I'd be using Sally, which I have loved since I was a girl. I'd also use Elijah, but DH won't hear of it.

I wanted Daniil, Maxim (after my brother, who'd died) and Ksenia. DH vetoed them for being 'not English enough'. We named them names working in both countries, but they're fairly boring (think along the lines of Anna) although I love the names now!

Gemzybelle · 11/10/2014 18:52

I like Bryony for a girl but DH hates it

HibiscusIsland · 11/10/2014 19:14

I saw a teenager called Ida on Educating the East End, but she pronounced it Eeda. I love Eye - da

sewingandcakes · 11/10/2014 19:15

Spike and Leila

justhayley · 14/10/2014 23:24

Daisy, I just love it. DP was having none of it when we named our little girl 11 weeks ago. I'm hoping we have another DD in a few years and I can change his mind by then

justhayley · 14/10/2014 23:25

Oh and Willow

JessicaRRRabbit · 14/10/2014 23:35

Eve - DH vetoed because he's called Adam. Hmm

Patrick - DH vetoed because it wasn't biblical enough even though he's an atheist.

Surfsup1 · 15/10/2014 09:39

If I didn't have to consider DH or other people's opinions at all then I would name a DD Priscilla. No one else seems to like it and I am glad I never mentioned it to DH before we got married as I think I really fell in his estimations once I suggested it! Blush Smile

For a boy I think it would be Hamish, but DH went to school with a couple of idiot Hamishs and he can't get past that.

xalyssx · 15/10/2014 09:48

I would have an Alexander instead of a Gabriel, DP vetoed it because both our names begin with A.

NotChimpandZeeagain · 15/10/2014 09:51

Ariana Joy or Rosalie Grace for a girl and Christopher (Kit) Joel for a boy.

isadorable · 15/10/2014 11:20

Camille and Louis - dp's step-dad is called Louis but we didn't know this at the time. He just thought both names were old fashioned...

So, dd got Isadora - the only name we agreed on which I do love and really suits her.

impomea · 15/10/2014 11:26

Rosalie and Freddie

I would have had a boy named Reuben but DH thinks it's too posh.

nosleeptilever · 15/10/2014 21:00

girl - Echo
I had a great aunt Echo and I always loved her name in a family consisting of siblings Dorothy, Shirley, Ralph, Fred, Alfred, Norma AND Norman.

dh was having none of these and we'll have no more babies now.Sad

Heleng1982 · 15/10/2014 21:03
