Opinions on this alliterative name

As a rule I'm not mad keen on alliterative names, although IMO some work far better than others. However I have fallen in love with the name Helena ("Helen-a" pronunciation) for our DD, due in a few months. We have a couple of other options, and won't decide finally until she's here. But I'd like opinions on whether this sounds OK, or whether we should just discount it on the basis that it's not great with our surname:

Helena Holman.

OK? Bad? I've thought so much about it that I can no longer tell!

I once knew a girl called helen hallsworth... She got away with it.. Yours baby name is very similar

It is actually easier than helena allman or elena hollman.

I think the alliteration is fine, but wonder if it may become shortened/nicknamed to Hel-Hol (Hell Hole) at school?

It's like Harriet Harman..I never thought that was a strange name at all. In fact it makes it more memorable I would say.

Thanks all. And yes, Glass, it's the almost rhyming of the 2 names that I think worries me as much as the alliteration. But I'm glad that nobody is saying that it's a disaster, just in case she is definitely a Helena when we meet her.

Helena's lovely and Helena Holman is not bad at all - not ideal, but not bad bad :) I think it's the 'l' in Holman rather than the alliteration that's not amazing. Definitely go for it if you're in love with Helena!

I think it sounds fine. Apart from the H the names are different sounds so it's not like Helena Helman or something.

I like it! My DH and his best friend both have alliterative names and love playing around with their initials in puerile e-mails
