Love it!

RosesInTheRain · 06/07/2013 15:20

no- name of our dog, and I agree with IfUSeek for people.

Dog gets called Moo, Mabes and Mabley by us, plus some people (e.g. vet) spell it Mable which annoys me and she's just my baby a dog

williaminajetfighter · 05/07/2013 21:58

Love it.

LynetteScavo · 05/07/2013 20:45

Yes. Smile

rockybalboa · 05/07/2013 20:41

Yes!

IfUSeekAmy · 05/07/2013 17:54

Cute up to the age of about 6. There is no way I would want to be 21 and out clubbing, meet a hot young man and have to say that my name was Mabel. Nor would I want to be my age now 25 (33) and be called Mabel. It's too Granny-ish

purpleaura · 05/07/2013 17:16

I love it :) You could always spell it Maybelle to get around the May-bull issue?

mumofthemonsters808 · 05/07/2013 17:06

I also love Betty

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 05/07/2013 17:06

Yes. I know a 2yo Mabel and she is lovely.

Mabel was also my DGrandma's middle name. I liked it for DD2 but DH didn't...

mumofthemonsters808 · 05/07/2013 17:06

Love it but....DD describes it as horrendous.

VelmaDaceDinkley · 05/07/2013 17:04

Yes

squoosh · 05/07/2013 17:01

1950's charlady in floral pinny who nags her poor husband Bert if he spends too much time in the local boozer.

8thplace · 05/07/2013 16:52

No! Not in 2013!

Blanketsandpillows · 05/07/2013 16:20

Yes but don't think it needs a nickname

Rhubarbgarden · 05/07/2013 14:56

Yes

Elquota · 05/07/2013 12:13

No

TeamJavert · 05/07/2013 10:25

Definitely not. It's harsh and ugly.

glorious · 05/07/2013 10:23

Yes. Like Toby I love it but DH doesn't.

valiumredhead · 05/07/2013 09:39

I pronounce it may-bell, may-bull isn't nice.

Anjou · 05/07/2013 08:11

Although very popular, May and Belle are very pretty names. However, because Mabel is pronounced May-bull it sounds quite clunky and frumpy to my ears. It's just an unpleasant sound. I'm not a fan of the whole Ethel, Maud, Doris, Mavis granny (really not very) chic trend though. Good luck!

valiumredhead · 04/07/2013 19:27

Mabel, Mabel, smart and able , please remove your elbows from the tableGrin

pygmy · 04/07/2013 19:25
