Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

No. I think that 'granny-chic' names have had their day now. Sorry!

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 04/07/2013 12:20

Love Mabel.
It was my nan's middle name,it's on my list Smile

Hellonewworld · 04/07/2013 12:23

I was thinking either May or Belle as a nn?

Floralnomad · 04/07/2013 12:26

No , although its better than either May or Belle .

sleepingbeautiful · 04/07/2013 13:29

No.
It belongs with Ethel. It's granny but under no circumstances is it chic.

mejon · 04/07/2013 13:33

Yes. I have a Mabli which is the Welsh version. We use Mab as in cab for a nn but it's a short enough name without needing one really.

MerryMarigold · 04/07/2013 13:36

No.

sooperdooper · 04/07/2013 13:44

I like it :)

bugsybill · 04/07/2013 14:19

Yes.

I don't think it is a granny chic name either. It is very different from Ethel, Edith, enid etc

The 'may' sound makes it sound fresher than the other granny names.

othersideofchannel · 04/07/2013 14:42

bouncychair · 04/07/2013 15:17

I like it. But in terms of nn I knew a Mabel at school and her nickname was Moo.. (no idea why!)

fussychica · 04/07/2013 15:20

Love May but Mabel is ok.

FairyArmadillo · 04/07/2013 15:43

TobyLerone · 04/07/2013 15:45

I love Mabel. Sadly, DH doesn't.

MrsBungle · 04/07/2013 15:53

I think it's quite pretty. Far nicer than the other granny names like Ethel and maude etc

usualsuspect · 04/07/2013 15:55

No

DramaAlpaca · 04/07/2013 15:55

FunnysInLaJardin · 04/07/2013 16:01
