How many new babies do you know called Henry?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lurkinginthebackground · 31/01/2012 20:28

pchick · 31/01/2012 20:30

pchick · 31/01/2012 20:30

Sorry, dog.

mrsshears · 31/01/2012 21:18

I know 5 under 5yrs old.
It would have been my first choice but i think its too popular now.

PopcornBiscuit · 31/01/2012 23:49

One toddler.

Heavensmells · 01/02/2012 00:06

Heavensmells · 01/02/2012 00:06

Of

boohome · 01/02/2012 00:33

I know one about 9 months old.

GodKeepsGiving · 01/02/2012 01:18

I think it depends where you live. I have a Henry, but he is almost eight. We are NW and he is the only one I know, but the popularity surge elsewhere is rather irritating.

TheCatInTheHairnet · 01/02/2012 01:21

It was very popular 15 years ago, so if it's still going, I would imagine it's pretty popular.

MakkaPakkasWilly · 01/02/2012 06:16

I don't know any Henry's, only a few Harry's (west London)

SoFarWeAreEqual · 01/02/2012 08:21

I don't know any Henrys where I am in Hampshire. I think it is a gorgeous name, and it is outside the top 30 in the latest stats list from the ONS.

jaffacakehips · 01/02/2012 13:14

I know 1 Henry (nearly 1yrs) He's in SW London.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 01/02/2012 13:17

I know three Henry's all around 10. One is in NW England the other two are continental Europe.
I know far more Harry's though. Around 8 or 9.

jaffacakehips · 01/02/2012 13:18

Just done a quick check: England, 2009 - 2094 a rise of 2%. Can't find 2010..being dim

DuchessofMalfi · 01/02/2012 13:24

DS is called Henry, and I think it's a great name:). I've only ever come across two other Henrys and they were teenagers. I think Harry is a much more popular name than Henry where we live.

crocodilesmiles · 01/02/2012 13:41

According to the National Statistics there were 2,239 Henrys born in 2010 (latest available stats)... Harry is used MUCH more often, with 6,862 born in 2010.

I could never use it because of Horrid Henry and Henry the Hoover associations, but if you like it go for it.

woolly76 · 01/02/2012 16:52

Know two under two and my husband but lovely classic name go for it

girlsyearapart · 01/02/2012 17:05

Ds aged 8 weeks is Henry don't know any others (apart from our Hoover)

Diamondwhite · 01/02/2012 20:29

I would say so. I think a lot of parents that would have used Harry are now choosing Henry as a less common alternative. My friend in south west tells me that out of the 14 boys in her sons rugby group 6 are called Henry. They are 6 and 7.

Matches · 01/02/2012 20:33

I know one. IMO it's 'Eddie' that's v popular at the moment - I know lots of Eddies who are under 4

DCgirl · 01/02/2012 20:36

Top one hundred names and a link to all the boys names used in 2010 (most recent year for which there are statistics) here.

gitinora · 01/02/2012 20:37

i know a 16month old and a 7 year old Henry

AWomanCalledHorse · 01/02/2012 20:39

Middle name of our 6wk old DS, but not heard it around here before (SE London).

I think Harry is much more popular (can't move around here without bumping into a Harry or Archie).

Diamondwhite · 01/02/2012 21:47

Agree re eddie too.
