Just getting bugged by the number of posts on here asking how popular is such and such a name, especially when it's something like Emily (!), so for everybody's information I have Googled and copied the list of top 100 baby names in the UK in 2010 (the top 100 names of 2011 won't be released until autumn this year).

Does anyone know where to see a ranking beyond the top 100? Is there a top 1000 somewhere? I know that there is one for America...

I found a top 1000 for the UK using Google but dating back to 2008 or something. I'd be interested to know the most recent top 1000 too - if anybody gets hold of it please let us know (was thinking about writing to the ONS to see if they'd help...). Thanks for the French and German names guys, very interesting.

Sorry, the Scottish one is only top 100. I swear it used to be all, I checked it when it came out as my DS was born in 2010. Hmm!

In the girls names MASIE (14) AND MAISEY (100)

so is that just because of the different spellings because there are different spellings for plenty of the names mentioned

I'd like options to see merged results for such similar names. Some devoted MNer used to combine samey names and present the results.

Not quite sure what you mean marsiay. The source of the list I posted was the Office of National Statistics so of course it was going to be correct.
