Is this name too poncey for a boy?

Well I don't think so - but I have had it said to me (whatever it means). Let me know what you think. I don't want to saddle my boy with an crap awful name. But I really like it.

Julian??? Anyone?

It's a little bit poncey, but 'camp' would be my first opinion on the name. It's a name, like Gabriel, Beau etc, that is just a bit too feminine for my taste.

All the Julian's I've met have been very middle class.

I like it and don't think it's poncey. I had a huge crush on Julian from the FF as a child!

I really like it too but DH vetoed it on grounds of ponciness.

I'm not keen and find it a bit 'poncey' as you suggest - but honestly this is just my opinion and probably says more about me than the name!!

I considered Julian. Along with Lester and Francis.

I like it, it is a little old fashioned, but not twee, venerable, a bit overtly middle class, but nothing de trop.

Plus I know several very nice Julians.

But I'm having a girl

It's a bit Enid Blyton but that's no bad thing.

For poncy you need the Jolyon variant according to MN.
