Middle Name for 'Anna'?

We've decided on Anna for a little girl as I just find it so lovely and classic. Can't pick a middle name though - any suggestions? I liked Anna Violet but OH thinks Violet's too harsh - I also thought of Anna Lily but Lily is uber-super-popular now. It can't be a name ending in -a or beginning with a vowel (would sound funny). Help pliz!

Glypta?

My sister is Anna Maria but she did hate it when people misunderstood her name and called her Annmarie which was a popular name when she was at school.

I think Anna Maria is quite a popular combination in Spain and Italy.

I think Anna is a lovely name. Quite unusual and a welcome alternative to Hannah or Grace.

Anna Katarina Neve/Nimh - my girl's name since I was about 12 Blush. Will now never be used here (after DS4 I am SOOOOO done with babies Wink) so you can have it [generous emoticon].

Anna is a beautiful name

I think a single syllable middle name sounds great with 'Anna'

Anna Rose
Anna Kate
Anna Boo Hmm - but there's no accounting for taste
Anna Kay

I've run out of single syllables, but you can look them up!

Anna Josie
Anna Leila

MrsKing · 30/10/2010 19:22

My DD2 is Anna Martha, middle name is after my mil. Wasn't sure as they both end in 'a' but have grown to love it.

Clearly, it can only be Banana Grin

PandaNot · 27/10/2010 23:08

I have an Anna Lily named after dh grandmother. Everyone commments on how pretty it is, even if it is really popular now. 3 years on I still love it.

EthelredTheUndead · 27/10/2010 23:05

our DD (11months) is Anna elizabeth bluebell. I know bluebell's a bit naff, but we like it nevertheless! :O

CristinaTheAstonishing · 27/10/2010 23:03

Or even Anna Karenina :)

skandi1 · 27/10/2010 22:48

Anna Karina (Carina). Sounds nice. Or Anna Katrina?

CristinaTheAstonishing · 27/10/2010 22:42

I think Anna would go with a longer middle name.

DandyDan · 27/10/2010 22:41

Marian

Goingspare · 26/10/2010 23:21

I have an Anna Catherine. Anna Juliet is very pretty though.

metromum · 26/10/2010 13:47

Louise
Lys
Catherine
Marie

leonam · 26/10/2010 12:31

ValiumSkeleton: hmm, had not considered 'anally' as possible variation on name - that is actually quite rank. I did consider Juliet too so will rethink that as it is pretty.

Panzee: Anna Lucia is beautiful, thank you - will run it past OH to see if I can bully him into accepting it he likes it.
