Can we talk about Laura Brand

Ineversaidthatactually · 22/10/2026 10:15

Recorded 4 days ago, a youtube video with the 2 of them sitting in dressing gowns, chatting about their week, complimenting each other on their court appearance outfits and telling each other how good they looked in court, quoting a friend who complimented them on dressing well in court, sharing a laugh together about the week they've had (in court). Laura smiles and laughs.
Something I picked up on, at 3 mins 50 secs, RB says "On Sunday blah blah blah". Laura corrects him and says "Monday". RB says "Did I say Sunday?" Laura says "You did, yeah" RB says "But didn't I say you're watching this on Sunday" Laura says "Oh, maybe you did, sorry" RB says "I'm a pro" Laura laughs and says "ok".
But he DIDN'T say "you're watching this on Sunday". He said "On Sunday" and she was right to correct him.
So here we have a recorded dialogue between the 2 of them where we see RB tell Laura that he just said something completely different to what he actually just said, and she instantly pacifies him by saying "oh maybe you did" (but he didn't) and then she quickly apologises to him and he reminds her that he's the pro. Yet he has just blatantly lied about what he said on film in front of everyone viewing it but cleverly covers his mistake up in a nanosecond and makes her believe that she made a mistake, she is wrong, and she should be reminded that he is the pro (thereby asserting his power over her). This exchange all happened so fast that I had to rewind it and watch again because I thought "Hang on a minute, you did say Sunday, you didn't say what you're telling her you said, you're lying in a split second response, and she's going along with you saying something you didn't say!".
RB covered his mistake up so fast and turned it round on his wife and made her look stupid for getting it wrong and then reminded her he's better than her ("I'm a pro" subtext "You're not"). If he can lie and cover and confuse and coerce this quickly whilst he knows he's being filmed, then no wonder he is easily lying about his crimes.
As females, can we have a discussion about Laura?
Personally, I have been upset and confused to see her walking in to court hand in hand with RB, or with his arm around her shoulders as they walk in. Her display of loyalty is huge. How can she put on such a display of belief in him when he's on trial for rape and sexual assault of 6 women?
Whilst watching this video this morning (filmed on Sunday), I felt a rising anger at her for laughing about the week in court and flattering him with compliments about his court outfits and how good he looked.
But that quickly turned to concern when I saw her accept him telling her she'd mis-quoted him when she hadn't, and then swiftly apologised to him.
So now I don't know what to think about her but I do think there needs to be a discussion on a female forum about this woman supporting her husband on trial for alleged sexual crimes against women.
Even if you can't watch the whole video, please watch the first 4 minutes:

I think they are both utterly terrified he will go to prison. It’s the last few days and weeks of their lives. They know it is. With kids who are also being affected by him. This will mean the end of life as they know it. After prison then what?
I have softened slightly this week to seeing her as a victim. Not on the same level as these brave women who have come forward for justice and have been through the hell and trauma of the trial and the years before this. The rapes and assaults and devastating affect on their lives.
But I think his legal team have told him what will happen and that their whole world is about to implode. I have been through abuse of a different level but I also kind of feared my life as I knew it was about to change. But now it’s like this massive weight has been lifted and we are free of the dominator. We can be ourselves again. We can have a good life without the abuser. I hope justice does prevail for these women. They deserve a good authentic life now where their bravery is recognised.
Laura will need help from this too. shes so besotted by him. The cult of celebrity also has a massive amount to do with this. Why do we all see people who work on the telly as special ??

Has Kirsty Gallacher expressed her support for him?

So when she says "I don't want to do this on my own" in the context of the possibility of Brand being sent to prison (in the video posted by @Klippin ), I took that to mean she doesn't want to parent on her own, given they'd been talking about their son. But reading your post, maybe she means she doesn't want to do anything on her own, i.e. she needs to be with Brand, she can't live her life by herself. As in, she's been brainwashed in to believing she needs Brand.
Also, anyone else find it uncomfortable how much Brand is fixing her with a penetrative stare as she says this? It's weird. Most people don't stare intensely at their partner when they're talking. Then when she breaks in to laughter he instantly breaks in yo laughter too but then in a nanosecond his laugh/smile vanishes. Most people, when they heartily laugh like he does in this clip, still have a hint of smile left in their face/mouth/eyes for a few seconds after they finish laughing.
I've been reading on Reddit, and someone is on there who knows her and says they personally know that Laura's dad begged her not to date Brand when they first got together. Bet he's wishing she'd listened.

I've watched a few excerpts of those "sunday prayers" videos were they both ramble incoherent word salads full of bible quotes and whatnot. Laura reminds me of that American student (Otto Warmbier) who was made prisoner in North Korea and force to give a public conference praising Kim Jong. Laura got handed a script by RB and she needs to stick to it, sometimes she fails the script but gets inmediately corrected through gaslighting or a cold stare. she has children with the cult leader and financially depends on him which are very genuine reasons to stick by him.

I find those video total cringe but suspect I'm not the only one.

Being with a narcissist is like being in a cult of two and RB is a massive one. As a member of the "RB cult" (sorry: couple) she's supposed to support his delusional thinking (aka: alternative reality), that includes: he never hurt those women, his sh-it doesn't stink, he never said what he just said and it's "us against the world". You always need to say "sorry" and ask for forgiveness to the cult leader, even when you're right. She used to have a blog, did content creation of her own etc... but had to shut down the whole thing and dedicate herself to RB, because it's all about him. This woman doesn't have a life of her own anymore, she lost herself in a "cult of two".

He doesn't earn money per view.

Thanks for clarity on that. Personally I don't even want to give him the views regardless but at least posters know he isn't being paid.

Perhaps a cult of three as Kirsty Gallacher is clearly a supporter as well.

yep I meant a cult of 3 sorry, forgot the third cult member.

There’s no way I’m giving that scummy bastard any views or clicks. Why would you ask us to do that OP?!

thebrowncatisback · Yesterday 09:20

The Americans were saying the uk court processes are outdated. The victims shouldn’t be anonymous, the media reporting is too constricted, the defendant shouldn’t be in a dock but sitting with their legal team etc

the women are obviously lying etc etc.

they said he’s set up to lose and it’s unfair

i don’t know if this is just a crackpot programme and there are more sensible Americans out there

ThisLimeMoose · Yesterday 08:41

Stop referring to women as “females.” You’re very male-identified.

Ineversaidthatactually · Yesterday 08:38

dobedowaaaa · Yesterday 08:23

I wish I hadn’t watched it now. So in America they are calling it a sham trial?! He’s brainwashed America too… but he isn’t the first man to do that with his rambling, self
promoting, misogynistic views eh?! 🤔

Yes.....why does the interviewer state that this is a sham trial?
Why is she saying this??

I can’t watch. Theyre tearing apart the UK judicial system and saying the women are lying and poor Russell is being set up

Yes, they are exactly saying this.
And they're both LAUGHING together about it, knowing it's being televised!
Oh my God😖

OP posts:
Carouselfish · Yesterday 08:36

I just think, it's odd enough having a intelligent British person become a rabid religious nut, what's the likelihood of two people genuinely suddenly believing all that, so she already going along with his version of reality in a significant way.

thebrowncatisback · Yesterday 08:31

Ineversaidthatactually · Yesterday 06:26

But even this is designed to garner sympathy from the public isn't it.
A video interview of them and their baby boy.
"Oh but look at what WE have gone through with our little boy! He was only 10 weeks old and I had to drive to hospital with him! He had to have open heart surgery as a baby! Don't make it even worse for me by taking my husband away from me and putting him in jail! I won't cope on my own!".
Look, I'm sorry their child needed open heart surgery. But as Russell says in the video, he's fine now.
Her husband is still a rapist.
At the end she says "I don't want to do this (parenting) on my own so I hope the system isn't as fucked as we all think it is!" and then they both have a good old laugh together about it.
So she goes on camera to say she hopes the judicial system doesn't believe these 6 raped and abused women. Women her own husband raped and abused.
I feel really, really angry with her after watching this clip.

TotaleclipseinFrance · Yesterday 08:26

thebrowncatisback · Yesterday 07:52

I wouldn’t describe Russell’s rambling as a gift. He talks nonsense quite a lot. Goes off on a tangent and never seems to answers a question directly

I had a male acquaintance say he was gorgeous, which is a bit odd in itself as straight men, when acknowledging another man is handsome usually use relatively neutral words like 'handsome' or 'good-looking guy' not gorgeous.

Oh and lots of women fancied him. Implication is that this was all consensual, of course.

Not THIS woman, mate.
I always saw him as a stupid little brother who talks shite.

I wonder if she hears the evidence and feels any tiny amount of recognition of his behaviour. Surely she
stsrt to have doubts. Perhaps she’s fully brainwashed

TotaleclipseinFrance · Yesterday 08:19

But haven’t these witnesses already been cross examined by the defence team? They’ve had their chance to go into every tiny detail and from what I’ve read, every single witness has been extremely consistent with their evidence. There have been no “oh gosh, the Defence have really made people doubt what she’s said” moments.

Well if so that's good then, isn't it?

Totally agree.
The devil is in the detail.

I believe that on balance he is guilty but as the details of the anal rape crime has disturbed me greatly, (obviously I'm not saying it's anywhere near as the alleged victim, that would be ridiculous but it's natural to feel sickened by such crime) part of me wishes it were made up. It's so horrific it would be less bad.

I really want all aspects, every detail, scrutinised.

💯 but at least she does come across as more real than Sunday sit down!

She needs to shut the fuck up and not give televised interviews stating that she hopes these women are not believed in court.
I'm furious with her after watching the clip you posted.
And no, it doesn't show her as more real than Sunday sit down. She's deluded in Sunday sit down and she's deluded in what you posted. It only reveals more evidence of her delusion.

same! Also she told police it was another man who told her to clean it up. Then later said it was Russel.

these little nit picky points will be highlighted unfortunately and the jury will have to work out if they are sure beyond reasonable doubt.
