On way back from seeing family with dp. Dp driving. He is quite particular about his car, won’t let me or anyone eat in it etc. we stopped at a services to get coffee and some
shopping because we are in a bit of a rush to get home. I was starving and wanted a burger, dp said no time. And he wouldn’t let me eat it in the car. So I picked up a pack of crisps and ate a few while we walked back to the car. I knew he wouldn’t want me to finish them in the car so I folded over the bag and put it in the bag with the rest of the shopping.
dp gets really narky and said he can smell the crisps and now his car stinks of crisps why couldn’t I have just waited an hour to eat till we got home
hes now in a bad mood
Who is bu!

I agree with him - nobody eats in my car - couldn't you just wait until you got home?

She wouldn't have had to wait til she got home if he would have allowed her to eat before she got in the car. The prick

Bigreddog25 · Today 16:07

Why do people choose to spend their lives with people like this?

Bluedenimdoglover · Today 13:51

If his sense of smell is that acute, how in earth does he live in society? He's just being a dick.

MummyWillow1 · Today 13:46

Sounds like he made the wrong decision about getting food, was starving and is now taking it out on you. He’s an idiot.

Zerosleep · Today 12:41

He sounds like a horrible person. I would have ordered the burger and waited for it. Who cares what smell there is in the car, it’s not a museum. It’s a living working vehicle, isn’t it?

Griff1963 · Today 07:22

Freaky!

Thatladdo · Today 00:36

What model is it?
What kind of car is so special that someone cant eat crisps in it??

He sounds far too precious to me

I don't think either of you are unreasonable. Some people are really sensitive to certain smells. I remember being pregnant when my sense of smell was through the roof and I found the smell of ham unbearably offensive whereas i barely notice it having a smell now. Equally you were starving though. The only answer would have been to have nipped to the loo and eaten them really quickly there before getting into the car because he can hardly prohibit you from spending a penny!

Um, no.

The answer is that she eats when she wants, where she wants, if she wants - outside of his car.

The answer is, obviously, she eats her burger as she wishes and he waits patiently while she eats her burger, because her need for food entirely takes precedence over his desire to hurry her along.

The answer is not that she hides in a toilet stuffing food in her face to avoid being bullied by her shit of a husband.

Why are you letting him dictate when you can and cannot eat ? This seems crazy to me - the conversation would go “I’m getting a burger - shall I eat it here or in your car”

100%

theearthsayshello · Yesterday 23:52

It's not his place to tell you when and where to eat. If he refuses eating in the car, he then waits patiently while you eat before you get in the car.

End.

He's being ridiculous. If he doesn't want food in the car he waits for you to eat first. Muppet.

Took my car to the hand car-wash the other week. Half a sleeve of mince pies were retrieved from under the back storage compartment. From last years Christmas eve dog walk.

I'm afraid I can't relate...

I'm surprised the dog hasn't hunted the out before now

nutella8 · Yesterday 22:17

Good grief, does your husband drive a car or operate a mobile pharmacy? 😂 It’s a packet of crisps, not a chemical spill.

There is no greater gift to the universe than crisps. I'd have sooner paid a small fortune for a taxi and eat the crisps in peace. Any man who tried to come between me and my crisps would not remain in my life and quite possibly would not remain in his! This would actually be a hill I'd be prepared to die on.

If only crisps contained your 5 a day and multi vitamins then I would happily live on them too. They are the best invention since ...err, well...crisps !

Omg...puts his car above his partner...did you really need to come on MN and ask for the answer ?

You had me when she said he wouldn’t ‘let’ you eat a burger……
Yanbu and he’s a controlling twat.

Lilaclane · Yesterday 20:15

i hope you dump him and celebrate with a huge burger and a packet of crisps

Scottsy200 · Yesterday 20:06

Wait, wait, let me actually get this straight a man TELLS you what to do, or what not to do and you go along with it, even if it involves being famished. So you do what you were commanded to do and he still moans about it, what a manchil little prick. if I was you I’d run very fast away from the entitled little twat.

BigBadPotato · Yesterday 19:36

Goodness me, he sounds both an absolute arse and a complete bore. I don’t think he’d be for me, anyway!!

Me too, is Tesla the new BMW? I haven't gotten the memo (disclaimer I don't own one). 😂
